Abstract

This study aims to look at the effect of the Group Investigation model on students’ learning outcomes in the subject of Indonesian History to students in class XI IPS in SMAN 5 Padang in the ability to understand causality in historical events. This type of research is quantitative with the experimental method. Data obtained from the learning outcomes of students of class XI IPS SMAN 5 Padang. The study population consisted of 3 classes, the selection of samples was taken based on cluster sampling. The hypothesis proposed was there is an influence of students’ learning outcomes by using the Group Investigation model on students' abilities about understanding cause-effect in historical events. The data analysis technique is done by normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing. The results showed that there was an influence of the Group Investigation model on students’ learning outcomes in Indonesian History subjects in class XI IPS at SMAN 5 Padang. After pretest and posttest, there were differences in mean values. The average value of the experimental class pretest was 6.62 and the control class was 4,074. The average value of the experimental class posttest was 7,629 and the control class was 5,074. Analysis of the normality test showed that the two samples were normally distributed, namely Lhit <L. tab, experimental class was 0.786 and control class was 0.819 with L. tab was 0.886. The sample homogeneity test results have a homogeneous variant, namely F.hit 1.3 <1.7. The results of the t test show Thit> Ttab which is 6.8166> 2.0555 so that H1 can be stated and H0 is rejected. Based on the results of the study that there is an influence of the Group Investigation model on students’ learning outcomes in Indonesian History subjects in class XI IPS SMAN 5 Padang.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low interest of students’ learning in history subject, which was 38.73%. The purpose of this study is to determine the implementing of the Quantum Teaching model in order to increase students' learning interest in history subject. This type of research is classroom action research. The subject of this research was students of class X IPS 2. The technique of collecting data and instrument research is to use observation techniques using observation sheets of students’ learning interest. This study consisted of 2 cycles where there were 2 meetings in each cycle. The data analysis technique in this study uses percentage analysis techniques which then the results of the data are given meaning. The results of this study indicate that the Quantum Teaching model can increase students’ learning interest where in each cycle there is an increase in students’ learning activities from 38.73% in the initial observation to 66.97% in the first cycle and increase 85.96% in the second cycle. The increase occurred in each indicator of learning interest both on indicators of interest, involvement, feelings of pleasure and interest in learning history. Because of increasing the percentage in learning of each aspects of learning activities in each cycle, this research was stopped in the second cycle. It was stated that the Quantum Teaching model could increase students' interest in learning history subject.

Abstract

This research was motivated by a lack of students' understanding in history subject, especially on cause-effect point. It was evidenced by the students’ learning outcomes in Indonesian History subjects that are still under the KKM (77). This is because the teacher is still dominant using conventional learning models. For this reason, we need a learning model that can improve students' understanding on cause-effect material. The solution offered is the cooperative learning model of the Students’ Team Achievement Division. This study aims to see the effect of implementing the Student Team Achievement Division learning model on the ability of students to understand cause-effect material in history subject. This type of research is quantitative research with experimental methods. The population of this study were students of class XI IPS SMAN 3 Pariaman, in number to 150 people. The samples obtained were the XI IPS 2 class as the experimental class and XI IPS 3 as the control class totaling of 60 people. It obtained through random sampling techniques. Data collecting is done by giving pretest and posttest by using objective questions as many as 40 items. Data analysis was performed using the normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing. After these two tests were carried out on the two sample classes, there were the pretest and posttest which have differences in the mean values. The average value of the experimental class pretest was 8.54 and the control class was 7.37. The average value of the experimental class posttest was 10.54 and the control class was 8.20. Analysis of the normality test showed that both samples are normally distributed, where Lhit <Ltab in the experimental class was 0.833 and the control class was 0.840 with Ltab was 0.886. The homogeneity test results showed the sample has a homogeneous variant where Fhit <Ftab was 1.374 <1.713. The results of the t test showed Thit> Ttab which was 3.163> 2.068, so that it can be declared H0 accepted while H1 is rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that there is the influences of the use of the cooperative learning model of the Students’ Team Achievement Division on the results of history subject of Indonesian History to students in class XI of SMAN 3 Pariaman.

Abstract

This study aims to look at the effect of using interactive course lab teaching materials on students' ability to understand concepts in historysubject. The problem of this study is the low level of students' knowledge of the concept material which is indicated by the low learning outcomes of IPS X grade students of high school in Padang Panjang are still many under the KKM (75). The teacher still does not use interactive teaching materials in learning. For this reason, we need an interactive teaching material that has not been used in Padang Panjang High School which is expected to improve learning outcomes. In connection with that Alvani Maizal Asri (2018) has made an interactive teaching material in his research entitled "Development of interactive teaching materials using the course lab application on Indonesian History subjects. The solutions offered in this study introduce the use of interactive teaching materials in historical learning and also as a follow-up to Alvani Maizal Asri's research to continue the next phase of Development. This type of research is experimental research. The population of this study was class X IPS with a sample of 181 people taken by random sampling. Data retrieval is done by pretest and posttest by using multiple choice questions as many as 40 questions. Data analysis using normality test, homogeneity test and hypothesis test (t test) and effectiveness test. The findings of the study at SMAN 1 Padang Panjang showed the average value of the difference between the experimental class students' learning outcomes 11,14 and SD 2,75 while the average difference in learning outcomes of the control class students was 10.14 with SD 2.25. Analysis of the normality test showed that the two samples were normally distributed, namely Lhit <Ltab which was 0.814 <0.886. The omogenicity test results show that the smapel has a homogeneous variant, the Fhit was 1.58 <Ftab was 1.701. The results of the t test show Thit 3.96> Ttab 2.05 so that it can be stated H1 is accepted H0 is rejected. While the results of research at SMAN 2 Padang Panjang showed the average value of the difference in learning outcomes of experimental class 12 students with SD 3.03 while the average difference in learning outcomes of control class students was 10.7 with SD 2.54. Analysis of the normality test showed that the two samples were normally distributed, namely Lhit <Ltab which was 0.821 <0.886. The omogenicity test results showed that the sample had a homogeneous variant, namely Fhit 1.58 <Ftab 1.69. The results of the t test show Thit 2.197> Ttab 2.03 so that it can be declared H1 accepted H0 rejected The results of the study show that there is an influence of the use of interactive teaching materials on the results of history learning of high school students in Padang Panjang. This interactive teaching material is effective to use because the average N-gain value at SMAN 1 Padang Panjang is 0.42 with moderate criteria, as well as in SMAN 2 Padang Panjang, the average N-gain value is 0.33 with the medium category.

Abstract

The study aimed to develop a measurement model of historical awareness through a research and development model adopted from the Plomp model. Historical awareness was measured through four components, namely: knowledge of historical events, understanding of historical research method, meaning of historical events, and usefulness of history. The development procedures of the development model included a preliminary investigation in the form of literary study about the constructs of historical awareness. In the design stage, the researcher designed a conceptual model and a hypothetical measurement model about historical awareness. Then, the researcher performed a test construction namely assembling the test instrument for measuring historical awareness. Eventually, the researcher administered a test, did evaluation and made revision. The test in the study referred to the empirical testing of the instrument, while the evaluation in the study referred to the efforts to identify the obstacles that the participants encountered within the empirical testing of the instrument in order to revise it. The empirical testing of the instrument involved history teacher-candidates at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta and Universitas Negeri Padang. The data were gathered through the test by using the measurement instrument in the form of associative multiple choice test. For the construct analysis, the researcher implemented confirmatory factor analysis by means of Lisrel 8.80 program. The results of the analysis show that the χ2 = 121.98, the p-value = 0.11, RMSEA = 0.043. In other words, the measurement model of historical awareness that had been developed was supported by the empirical data.

Abstract

This research aimed to know the influence of applying recitation learning method on students abilities in understanding of historical facts. The abilities were seen from student learning outcomes in written test. This was a quantitative research with experiment method. Data obtained from the learning tests result of students grade X IPS 1 SMAN 13 Padang. Population of this research consisted of three classes, and the sample consisted of two classes: grade X IPS 1 as experiment group and grade X IPS 3 as control group. The result of this research indicated that there was an influence of the application of recitation learning method on the historical learning outcomes of students grade X IPS 1 SMAN 13 Padang. The analysis of normality test showed that the population of the two samples normally distributed, while the homogeneity test showed that the sample had a homogeneous variant. Therefore, we can conclude that there was an influence of the application of recitation learning method on the historical learning abilities (outcomes) of students in SMAN 13 Padang.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify the level of historical consciousness on college students in Indonesia in terms of ethnic groups, particularly Javanese and Minangkabau ethnics. Historical consciousness is measured by four aspects, namely knowledge of historical events, understanding of historical research methods, finding meaning of historical events, and viewing historical usefulness. Subjects in this study were Javanese college students, represented by history education college students at State University of Yogyakarta and Minangkabau college students represented by history education college students at Padang State University. The research data were collected through historical consciousness test. Test instruments were formulated in the form of multiple choice questions associative consisting of knowledge about historical events, understanding of historical research methods, finding meaning of historical events and viewing usefulness of history. The data were analyzed by the percentage of the average scores level of historical consciousness on both ethnics group of college students. Overall, result analysis showed that percentage score of historical consciousness of Javanese college students is 42% higher than college student of Minangkabau i.e.39%. It means that the level of historical consciousness of Javanese college students higher than Minangkabau college students.T-test result shows that, at df = 68, value sig. 0.182 < 0.05, it means that level of historical consciousness between Javanese college students and Minang did not differ significantly. It can be said that the level of historical consciousness of Javanese college students was equal to Minang college students.

Abstract

This article talks about the history department as the oldest department at Padang State University. This research tries to explain the development of the history department starting from the formation of the history department since the PTPG Batusangkar period to the UNP. The purpose of this study is to describe the development of the Department of History as the oldest department. This research was conducted using the method of historical writing consisting of four stages of source collection (heuristics), sources of criticism (verification), concluding reliable testimony (interpretation), and final writing (historiography). The results of this study indicate that the Department of History is one of the departments sheltered by the Faculty of Social Sciences since 1999 at Padang State University until now. The history department is one of the oldest departments that was also formed with five other departments during the PTPG Batusangkar. These higher education institutions experienced changes that could be classified in four periods, namely: 1) the initial period of the PTPG Batusangkar in 1954-1956; 2) Transition period, namely FKIP Unand Bukittinggi in Batusangkar 1956-1958, FKIP Andalas University Padang in 1958-1964, IKIP Jakarta-Padang Branch, 1964-1965; 3) IKIP Padang period as Stand Alone Institution in 1965-1999; 4) the period of Padang State University (UNP) in 1999-present. As one of the oldest majors at UNP, the history department has undergone many changes from time to time. Both in terms of physical and non-physical. Physical changes can be seen and felt useful by the Department of History such as lectures, offices, departments and other lectures. While for non-physical facilities, the history department has teaching staff and administrative staff who can support the smooth running of the history department. Since last year, the Department of History has accredited A from the National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (BAN-PT), precisely in 2017

Abstract

Dalam pembelajaran sejarah, penting peserta didik untuk memahami mengapa dan bagaimana orang di masa lalu membuat keputusan beberapa keadaan dengan cara mereka lakukan. Guru sejarah perlu melatih historical empathy peserta didik. Salah satu cara dengan menggunakan media dalam bentuk LKPD berbentuk elektronik agar kegiatan pembelajaran lebih menarik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk mengetahui langkah-langkah pengembangan E-LKPD untuk melatih historical empathy peserta didik; (2) untuk menguji kelayakan dan kepraktisan E-LKPD untuk historical empathy peserta didik. Peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian pengembangan atau R&D. Model pengembangan dalam penelitian ini adalah model ADDIE. Uji kelayakan produk melibatkan ahli materi sejarah Indonesia dan ahli LKPD. Uji praktikalitas produk melibatkan dua orang guru dan 34 orang peserta didik kelas. Hasil uji kelayakan dari ahli materi sejarah Indonesia adalah 3.8 dengan kategori sangat layak dan dari ahli LKPD adalah 3.7 kategori sangat layak. Hasil uji praktikalitas E-LKPD oleh guru adalah 3.6 kategori sangat praktis dan peserta didik 3.5 kategori sangat praktis. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa E-LKPD untuk melatih historical empathy peserta didik layak dan praktis digunakan.

Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah terdapat perbedaan antara pengelolaan pembelajaran tatap muka dan pembelajaran daring. Pengelolaan pembelajaran daring adalah hal yang baru dalam kegiatan praktek lapangan kependidikan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan pengelolaan pembelajaran daring oleh mahasiswa PLK. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Jurusan Sejarah UNP angkatan 2017 dan 2018 sebanyak 28 orang. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dan analisis dokumen. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah deskriptif model interaktif Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan pembelajaran yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa Sejarah UNP dalam kegiatan PLK terdiri tiga tahap yaitu persiapan, pelaksanaan dan penilaian pembelajaran. Pada tahap persiapan mahasiswa menyusun semua perangkat (RPP, silabus, bahan ajar, media) serta menentukan aplikasi yang akan digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran dimulai dengan membuka pembelajaran, kemudian membagikan bahan ajar di aplikasi pembelajaran dilanjutkan dengan kegiatan diskusi dan tanya jawab.Penilaian pembelajaran dilakukan melalui kuis dan penilaian tugas siswa.
