Abstract

This study focuses on the development of a case study–based digital book aimed at improving learning quality in Office Management education, where students are required to master both conceptual understanding and practical decision-making skills. Despite the increasing use of digital learning resources in higher education, existing instructional materials often lack contextual integration between theory and real workplace scenarios, resulting in limited student engagement and insufficient opportunities for problem-based learning. To address this issue, the present research aims to design and develop an interactive digital book enriched with authentic case studies that align with course learning outcomes. The study employed a Research and Development approach using the 4-D model Define, Design, and Develop to produce learning materials validated by experts and tested through limited trials. The results show that the digital book achieved high feasibility, with an average expert validation score of 87.33%, while student responses reached 93.87%, indicating strong acceptance, improved motivation, and enhanced perceived understanding. The synthesis of these findings demonstrates that embedding case-based learning elements into digital book formats can effectively support critical thinking, contextual reasoning, and independent learning in Office Management courses. In conclusion, the developed digital book is classified as highly feasible for instructional use and holds substantial potential to enhance learning experiences, although further research is recommended to examine its broader effectiveness and long-term impact on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Interest on the teaching profession is the beginning of someone’s interest to become a teacher. The research in this article is designed to measure the impact of perceptions of the teaching profession, family environment, and self-efficacy on the students’ interest to become a teacher, perceptions of the profession and family environment on self-efficacy, and the perceptions of the teaching profession and family environment on the students’ interest to become a teacher through self-efficacy. The research was conducted on 158 students in the year of 2017 and 2018 at the Administration Education Study Program of Universitas Negeri Surabaya. The research uses a quantitative method, with survey techniques. Data collection techniques using questionnaires and analyzed by path analysis. The conclusion showed that the perception of the teaching profession with a P-Value was 0.088, family environment with a P-Value was 0.000, and self-efficacy toward the students’ interest in becoming a teacher with a P-Value was 0.000. Perceptions of the profession and family environment to self-efficacy with a P-Value were 0.000 and 0.004. Perceptions of the teachingprofession and family environment to students’ interest in becoming a teacher through self-efficacy with a P-Value were 0.003 and 0.011. Hence, it could be concluded that H1 was rejected and H2, H3, H4, H5, H6, and H7 were accepted in this research.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan e-modul pembelajaran Manajemen Perkantoran pada fase F elemen Komunikasi di Tempat Kerja kelas XI berbasis Project Based Learning (PjBL) dengan bantuan aplikasi Sigil Software guna meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) untuk menghasilkan e-modul yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Hasil validasi menunjukkan e-modul sangat valid dan layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Respon siswa juga menunjukkan ketertarikan tinggi terhadap e-modul yang dikembangkan. Selain itu, kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan setelah penggunaan e-modul ini.

Abstract

Teaching Factory (TEFA) is a production-based learning model that aims to align student skills with industry needs. This study analyzes the readiness and implementation of TEFA in the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program at Surabaya State University to improve 21st-century skills in the digital era. Using a simple random sampling method with 44 respondents, the data were analyzed using Rasch modeling because of its accurate measurement in identifying the level of response suitability. The results show that the educational aspect of TEFA received a very positive response, reflecting the contribution of this program in supporting the development of 21st-century competencies, including critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity, character, and civic engagement. Students are trained to think critically and solve real problems so that they are ready to face industry challenges. However, the marketing aspect needs to be improved so that information about TEFA is better known and this program gets more comprehensive support from the community. With a more effective promotion strategy, opportunities for collaboration with external parties can increase, and more students can be involved, strengthening the collaboration and communication aspects of 21st-century competencies. Overall, TEFA not only helps students master technical skills but also strengthens 21st-century competencies that are relevant and applicable in the professional world

Abstract

The rapid advancement of technology, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), has had a positive impact on enhancing learning effectiveness. However, this progress also poses a challenge for the education sector to better understand the role and contribution of AI in achieving educational objectives and fostering scientific development. Training programs on artificial intelligence for teachers serve as an effective means to strengthen their competencies in integrating AI applications into classroom instruction. Through such training, teachers are expected to enhance students’ learning motivation and engagement. This community service activity was conducted at IPIEMS Vocational High School Surabaya and involved 33 participants consisting of Vocational High School teachers from the Office Management Automation Study Program and lecturers from the Undergraduate Office Administration Education Study Program, Universitas Negeri Surabaya. The training was implemented through a combination of lectures and hands-on practice sessions using AI tools. The results showed a highly positive response from the participants. Regarding the relevance of training materials to participants’ needs, 51.5% rated it as very good; for material comprehensibility and applicability, 45.5% rated it as very good; for the clarity and systematic delivery of materials, 69.7% rated it as very good; for the presenters’ mastery of the material, 72.7% rated it as very good; and for the clarity and satisfaction of answers during the discussion sessions, 51.5% rated it as very good. The participants demonstrated high enthusiasm throughout the training and expressed their interest in participating in similar programs in the future to continuously support the sustainable integration of artificial intelligence in education

Abstract

Perubahan dunia kerja di era digital menghadirkan tantangan besar bagi lulusan perguruan tinggi untuk memiliki keterampilan yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan industri. Penguasaan employability skills memiliki peranan krusial bagi mahasiswa tingkat akhir Program Studi Pendidikan Administrasi Perkantoran dalam menghadapi dinamika serta kompetisi dunia kerja yang semakin kompleks. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengkaji sejauh mana kecerdasan emosional dan self-efficacy memengaruhi employability skills. Pendekatan yang diterapkan adalah kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian asosiatif kausal. Populasi penelitian terdiri atas mahasiswa angkatan 2021 dengan teknik pengambilan sampel total, menghasilkan 82 responden. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner berskala Likert lima poin dan dianalisis melalui perangkat lunak SPSS versi 25. Analisis dilakukan melalui uji asumsi klasik, regresi linier berganda, serta pengujian hipotesis. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kecerdasan emosional dan self-efficacy memiliki pengaruh positif serta signifikan terhadap employability skills, baik secara parsial maupun simultan, dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05 dan koefisien determinasi (R²) sebesar 0,875. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, kedua variabel terbukti menjadi komponen penting dalam meningkatkan employability skills mahasiswa, sehingga pengembangannya perlu dilakukan secara berkesinambungan untuk mempersiapkan lulusan yang kompeten dan adaptif terhadap kebutuhan dunia kerja.
