Abstract

This study aims to explain the communication patterns carried out by Gocar drivers in improving and maintaining their services to customers in Makassar City. A driver is said to be able to fulfill the standard of service procedures if they carry out the rules that have been set, such as the minimum and maximum number of passengers in a day so that the partner's target is met to get a reward or bonus from the online application provider. Not only that, the assessment of the customer (user) to the online transportation provider application partner also greatly affects the driver's performance. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Means of observation, in-depth interviews, and literature study carried out data collection techniques. The results showed that online transport impacts and influences people's transport needs. But behind that, partners as parties who cooperate with online transportation provider applications are also required to provide their best service performance to customers (users). Starting from driving skills, how to behave, driving equipment, and even how to communicate to maintain the driver's performance. As a sign or measure of an online transport driver's ability to carry out his duties well, this provider application provides an assessment space for customers. The assessment after booking on the application in question is the provision of star marks by the customer on the service felt during the trip.

Abstract

Effective communication between public institutions and the media fosters transparency, accountability, and trust. However, limited empirical research has explored how press releases' structure, delivery, and credibility affect journalists’ satisfaction, particularly within local police institutions. This study examines the effectiveness of press release presentations by the Public Relations Division of the Bone Police Department in enhancing journalists’ information satisfaction. Using a quantitative approach, the study surveyed 26 officially registered journalists affiliated with the unit. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using simple linear regression. The findings reveal a statistically significant positive correlation between press release effectiveness and journalists’ satisfaction (R² = 0.840, p < 0.05). Key influencing factors include message clarity, source credibility, and digital communication platforms. This study contributes to institutional communication literature by highlighting the strategic role of media relations in shaping the perceived value of public information. It provides practical insights for public sector agencies to refine their communication strategies and build stronger relationships with the media, particularly in regions where accurate and timely information is critical. These findings underscore the importance of professional and credible press releases in improving the flow of public information.

Abstract

Abstract

Despite the longstanding use of herbal remedies to support maternal health, particularly during lactation, existing research has yet to systematically explore the intersection of traditional practices, digital media influence, and public trust. This study aims to analyze how herbal beliefs are represented, trusted, and potentially distorted through digital platforms, and to assess the effectiveness of herbal interventions in enhancing breast milk production in Indonesia. Employing a systematic literature review methodology in accordance with PRISMA guidelines, the study examined 24 peer-reviewed articles sourced from Google Scholar, focusing on public perception, misinformation, and trust in herbal remedies. Additionally, 25 studies on breastfeeding interventions were reviewed to evaluate the outcomes of herbal-based and educational approaches. Results indicate that while herbal galactagogues such as Moringa leaves, katuk, and dates consistently improve lactation outcomes, digital media plays a dual role—facilitating both accurate health education and the spread of unverified claims. Educational interventions enhanced maternal understanding and acceptance of herbal remedies, especially when supported by community engagement and digital tools. However, variations in efficacy across contexts and limited clinical validation signal the need for more rigorous trials. The findings underscore the importance of culturally integrated, evidence-based strategies in maternal health promotion and call for the careful regulation of online health information to safeguard public trust and maternal well-being.

Abstract

The development of technology has been a major factor behind the growth of e-commerce. The future of e-commerce in Indonesia is promising, with an estimated annual growth rate of 53.23%. By using e-commerce platforms, people can easily search for and select the products they wish to purchase. This convenience makes shopping a favored activity, not only for fulfilling needs and desires but also for influencing compulsive buying behavior. This study was conducted using a quantitative descriptive research methodology. This approach is useful for identifying relationships between two or more variables. The correlation analysis test results show that the calculated t-value is 8.064 with a p-value of <0.05. These research findings indicate that e-commerce platforms significantly influence compulsive buying behavior among housewives in Sidenreng Rappang Regency. The study relies on self-reported data, which may be subject to social desirability bias or inaccurate recall by participants. This study provides empirical evidence on how e-commerce platforms influence compulsive buying behavior, particularly among housewives in Sidenreng Rappang Regency.

Abstract

Indonesian traditional dance, as part of cultural heritage, contains deep symbolic values. One interesting example is the Salonreng Dance from Ara Village, South Sulawesi, which reflects the relationship between humans and nature, culture, and spiritual power. Although it plays an important role in the lives of the local community, understanding of the symbolic meaning contained in the movements, music, costumes, and rituals of this dance is still limited. This study aims to explore the symbolic meaning in the Salonreng Dance and its role in strengthening the cultural identity of the Ara Village community. This study uses a qualitative approach with semiotic analysis, specifically Ferdinand de Saussure's theory, to understand the relationship between the signifier and the signified in each dance movement. Data was collected through interviews with key informants, participatory observation, and documentation. The results of the study show that each movement in the Salonreng Dance contains symbolic meanings that reflect local cultural values, such as happiness in marriage, acceptance, and maintaining harmony in the household. In addition, Salonreng Dance also plays an important role in strengthening social relationships and preserving ancestral traditions. The significance of these findings lies in a deeper understanding of the role of dance in maintaining local cultural identity and facing the challenges of globalization. This research also contributes to the preservation of Salonreng Dance as a cultural heritage that must be preserved and passed on to future generations.

Abstract

This study examines the trends in research on the implementation of mobile waste bank applications for waste management in the digital era in Indonesia from 2019 to 2023. A bibliometric analysis was conducted using VOSviewer to identify keyword co-occurrence and the clustering of related topics. The findings reveal that research on mobile waste bank applications has seen a significant increase in publications, with a peak of 120 articles in 2022. However, a decline in publications was observed in 2023, with only 80 articles published. The most cited article in this field, "Systematic Literature Review Method for Identifying Platforms and Information System Development Methods in Indonesia" by Triandini et al., (2019), has garnered 490 citations. The analysis further identifies eight clusters with a total of 25 items, reflecting diverse themes within the application of mobile waste banks. Prominent themes include "waste bank," "digital waste management," and "waste bank system," indicating that these areas have been widely researched. However, certain topics, such as "smart waste saving," "organic and inorganic waste management," and "waste bank online systems," remain underexplored. These underrepresented themes present significant opportunities for further research. Overall, the study suggests a positive trend in research on mobile waste banks, highlighting the potential for future development and innovation in digital waste management systems. The findings provide valuable insights for future studies and the advancement of waste bank applications in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study investigates the dominant themes and discursive structures within global film scholarship through a bibliometric analysis of 404 Scopus-indexed articles published between 2019 and 2024. Using VOSviewer to map keyword co-occurrence, citation networks, and authorship patterns, the research identifies five major thematic clusters: Hollywood, feminism, representation, Bollywood, and popular culture. The findings reveal a persistent dominance of Western narratives positioning them at the centre of global film studies. In contrast, themes related to non-Western cinema, such as Bollywood, appear less central and more fragmented within the academic discourse. These results highlight how bibliometric patterns reflect broader ideological structures, reinforcing Stuart Hall’s theory of cultural representation and the asymmetry of global meaning production. The study concludes that while Western hegemony remains influential, there is emerging scholarly attention to diverse cultural narratives. Future research should incorporate more inclusive data sources and methodologies to better capture underrepresented voices in global film discourse.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the framing of news about riots and ethnic discrimination in Papua on online media Tirto.id. This research uses a qualitative method with Robert Entman's media framing theory which formulates framing from four framing models, namely, Define Problems, where this relates to how the issue can occur. Second, Diagnose Causes, which is related to what causes the issue to emerge. Third, Make a Moral Judgment, which is related to the moral values contained in the issue. Fourth, Treatment Recommendation, which is related to problem-solving or recommendations on the issue. The results showed (Define Problem) defining the problem of riots and discrimination reported by Tirto.id related to riots in Papua as a humanitarian problem. As previously known, the protests that caused riots in Papua were a form of anger from the Papuan people over the events that occurred in Surabaya. (Diagnose causes) reported by Tirto.id is the alleged acts of racism, discrimination, and intimidation committed by unscrupulous mass organizations and unscrupulous officers against Papuan students in Surabaya. In addition, acts of racism and discrimination committed by unscrupulous mass organizations and unscrupulous officials against Papuan students in Surabaya and Malang are behaviors that should be resolved and stopped. Tirto.id's moral judgment (Make moral judgment) is that the riots and discrimination in Papua should be resolved by the government with an emotional approach. (Treatment Recommendation) Tirto.id emphasizes that the government must learn from history regarding solving problems in Papua. Tirto.id emphasizes that solving the problem of riots in Papua should be done with a Social, Political, and Cultural approach. Tirto.id emphasizes that the government must learn from history regarding solving problems in Papua.  Keywords: Framing Analysis, Riots and Discrimination, Papua, Tirto.id.
