Abstract

Cassava flour or tapioca flour is one of the types of cassava products that has been widely developed as the main raw material for producing wet tapioca noodles. The village of Pulung Kencana in West Tulang Bawang Regency has local wisdom in the form of processed food products, such as tapioca noodles produced from cassava flour. Cassava flour is obtained from the result of tapioca or the sediment of grated cassava, which is dried for some time until it reaches a moisture content of 12%. The drying process is done naturally and highly depends on sunlight, sometimes hindered during periods without heat. Therefore, a drying tool is created using a homemade heater fueled by gas or firewood. The hot air in the pipe is blown into the drying chamber, which functions to dry the flour placed in tiers. The air moves from the bottom to the higher racks, allowing the heat to be used gradually. The drying chamber's capacity can dry 30 kg in one drying session, within 8 hours, achieving a moisture content of 12%. When using LPG, it requires 8 hours. The drying results show that the moisture content is 12%, meeting the required conditions

Abstract

This research aims to obtain optimal drilling machining parameters in response to tool life, surface roughness and response to the influence of electric current. Tool life is a derivative of the wear value obtained. The Taguchi method is often used to determine optimal quality in single response manufacturing processes. However, when there is more than one response, researchers often use the Gray Relational Analysis (GRA) method. This research was carried out on the response of tool life, surface roughness and the effect of electric current on Magneisum AZ31B type material using four factors and mix levels. The chisel diameters used are 8 mm and 10 mm. The spindle speed is set at 890 rpm, 1270 rpm, 1700 rpm and 2000 rpm, feeding uses values of 0.1 mm and 0.3 mm, while the point angles used are 118° and 135°. The optimal results obtained in this research were using a tool diameter of 8 mm, spindle speed of 890 rpm, feeding of 0.1 mm, and point angle of 118°. Abstract

Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is a type of fish cultivated by local people in Lake Ranau, West Lampung Regency, Lampung Province. Fish is easily damaged by chemical and microbiological processes, so proper handling and processing is needed to extend its shelf life. Shredded spiced fish is an innovative diversification of shredded fish product made from tilapia fish ori-ginating from Lake Ranau with added of multi-spices. Multi-spices are known to have high antioxidant content, so they can improve the quality and develop the taste of shredded spiced fish product.  The multi spices seasoning formulation and process stages greatly influence the characteristics of the shredded produced.  This research aims to study the formulation and processing treatment of the sensory characteristics of the best shredded spices fish. Determining the best formulation and processing treatment was determined using the sensory test method, namely a scoring test involving 30 panelists, then the data was processed using Microsoft Excel 2021. The result showed that the shredded spiced fish product with sample code 212 (without stir-frying) produced the best characteristics with a texture parameter value of 3.85; fragrance 4.05; colors 4.85; and tasted 4 with a total score of 16.75. Keywords: Multi spices, organoleptic, process stages, sheredded fish, tilapia.

Abstract

Cortical bone drilling is a critical step performed prior to implant bolt placement, where drilling parameters play a significant role in the success of the procedure. This study investigates the effects of rotational speed, feed rate, and cooling fluid type on the outcome of the drilling process. A Box-Behnken experimental design was employed, involving 15 samples. Drilling operations were conducted using an SS316L drill bit on a 3-axis CNC machine. Circularity was analyzed using a Mitutoyo PJ3000 profile projector by measuring the x- and y-axis lines of the drill hole shadows under projector illumination. Hardness testing of bone specimens revealed an average microhardness of 45.48 HV with a standard deviation of 1.74, indicating their suitability as a human bone model. The lowest circularity value, 0.00125, was achieved at a rotational speed of 1,500 rpm, a feed rate of 60 mm/min, and in the absence of coolant. ANOVA results show that the feed rate (Vf) significantly affects circularity compared to rotational speed (V) and coolant, with a P-value of 0.0126 and an F-value of 8.86. These findings provide insights for optimizing cortical bone drilling procedures in biomedical applications. Future research should explore temperature distribution across the specimen and drill bit wear resistance resulting from the drilling process.

Abstract

Material ringan paduan titanium memiliki  jenis struktur kristal hexagonal close packed (h.c.p), yang lebih dikenal dengan nama struktur alfa pada suhu ruangan. Struktur hcp dapat berubah menjadi struktur   body center cubic (b.c.c), yang dinamakan dengan fasa beta  pada suhu 882 derajat Celcius. Proses pemesinan yang berlansung dalam beberapa waktu telah menyebabkan peningkatan suhu pemesinan hingga mampu mencapai suhu  perubahan struktur paduan titanium. Peningkatan suhu tersebut adalah sebagai akibat dari gesekan antara benda kerja dan pahat potong, sehingga hal itu memberikan pengaruh terhadap struktur mikro dan tekstur permukaan benda kerja. Proses pembubutan dilakukan pada beberapa setting parameter kecepatan potong sebesar 55, 75 dan 95 m/min, kadar pemakanan sebesar 0.15, 0.25 dan 0.35 mm/rev, kedalaman potong sebesar 0.10, 0.15 dan 0.20 mm dan jenis pahat potong yang digunakan adalah tidak dilapisi, dilapisi secara CVD. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi pengaruh proses pemesinan terhadap perubahan tekstur permukaan titanium yang baru saja dimesin menggunakan pahat karbida jenis insert dalam keadaan pemesinan kering atau tanpa menggunakan fluida. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa  pemotongan kadar makan yang tinggi  sebesar 0.35 mm/rev memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap tekstur permukaan sepanjang proses pemotongan terutama pada tahap akhir proses pemesinan. Perubahan gerakan makan merupakan faktor yang paling menentukan terjadinya perubahan tekstur permukaan pada proses pemesinan bubut. Scanning electron magnetic menunjukan bahwa pada bagian puncak atau batas antara kadar pemakanan  dengan puncak berikutnya terjadi material yang terdeformasi sebagai akibat dari plastisitas aliran material titanium selama proses pemotongan berlansung pada suhu tinggi. Tekstur permukaan pada daerah puncak merupakan batas antara dua jarak kadar pemakanan, dimana batas antara dua jaran kadar pemakanan adalah pada bagian pinggir ujung mata pahat, yang mengalami aus.

Abstract

Permasalahan utama UKM kopi Lampung adalah rantai produksinya panjang, mesin atau peralatan pengolahannya masih konvensional dan tidak ramah lingkungan. Akibatnya, produk kopi yang dihasilkan berkualitas rendah, yaitu biji kopi memiliki kadar air hanya 18%, banyak pecah, tidak bersih dan tidak seragam. Juga energi fosil dan bahan bakar kayu dominan digunakan dalam lini produksi kopi sehingga tidak ramah lingkungan. Konsep produksi bersih dan sistem terpadu pengolahan kopi Lampung diterapkan, guna menjadikan industri kopi Lampung sebagai penghasil produk kopi berkualitas dan berdaya saing tinggi, serta ramah lingkungan. Penerapan konsep ini dibagi menjadi tiga tahap, yaitu pertama membuat model sistem produksi kopi. Tahap kedua menerapkan model ke dalam lini pengolahan kopi. Tahap terakhir mengevaluasi model yang telah diterapkan melalui penelitian untuk menyempurnakan model sistem produksi kopi. Sistem produksikopi Lampung telah diterapkan dan diperoleh hasil yaitu biji kopi dapat dikeringkan hingga kadar air 12,5% dengan waktu pengeringan sekitar 30 jam dan biji kopi yang dikupas tidak pecah. Biji kopi yang dihasilkan berukuran seragam dan bersih. Selain itu, limbah kopi dapat diubah menjadi energi panas melalui reaktor gasifikasi, yang suhunya sekitar 500°C dan alirannya terus menerus, sehingga dapat digunakan untuk mengeringkan dan memanggang biji kopi. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kualitas biji kopi sehingga UKM kopi diharapkan memiliki posisi tawar dan daya saing yang lebih baik dalam perdagangan kopi guna meningkatkan perekonomiannya. Selain itu, substitusi bahan bakar fosil dan kayu bakar menjadi energi panas yang berasal dari gasifikasi limbah kopi berpotensi menurunkan biaya produksi dan menciptakan kelestarian lingkungan.

Abstract

The number of vehicle usage, especially motorcycles, in Indonesia has significantly increased in the past 10 years, particularly among young people. This has had an impact on the declining air quality in public places, including on campus grounds. PM2.5, as one of the hazardous pollutants to health, needs to be given special attention regarding its dispersion concentration in areas heavily frequented by the public, such as parking lots on campus. This study analyzes the level of PM2.5 concentration in the campus parking lots at Universitas Lampung, with the aim of observing the pattern of PM2.5 pollution in the campus area, considering the increasing number of motorcycles entering the campus every year. The measurement of PM2.5 levels was conducted using a light scattering sensor in two parking lots with different microenvironments, and then its correlation with motorcycle activities at each location was analyzed using simple regression. Based on statistical analysis, it was found that the differences in microenvironments affect PM2.5 levels significantly. The number of motorcycle activities also has a positive correlation with the level of PM2.5, where the average PM2.5 concentration recorded has exceeded the threshold set by the government, which is 15 µg/m3 per day. However, the effect of the microenvironment in this study is stronger than the number of vehicles. Therefore, in the future, appropriate policies and strategies are needed to reduce PM2.5 concentrations in public areas, especially on campuses, to prevent the associated risks of the pollution.

Abstract

Substituting diesel technology with eco-technologies in public buses is one of the prominent efforts being made to achieve a sustainable transportation system goal. Among these eco-technologies, commonly used ones include electric vehicles, natural gas fuel, hydrogen fuel, and bio-diesel fuel technology. However, the performance comparison between these technologies in reducing environmental impact at each location where they are implemented remains unanswered by previous studies. Research to measure the effectiveness of each of the eco-technologies in reducing environmental issues has been conducted extensively, employing various methods and metrics. This study conducted a systematic review of 94 articles that met the predefined inclusion criteria to obtain performance comparisons among these technologies. As a result, a general trend has been observed that eco-technologies have successfully achieved their intended goals with various success rates, although electric bus technology has advantages over other technologies based on the articles. However, its effectiveness relies on specific aspects to optimize its environmental performance. Therefore, the suitability of implementation in a region will depend on many factors. This article contributes to determining the extent to which eco-technologies are implemented in buses worldwide, serving as a consideration for decision-makers, and identifying research gaps in this topic.

Abstract

Magnesium alloy is one of super alloys material which wide used in manufacturing of automotive, biomedic, sport and electronic components. It was due to very light and resistent to corrosion. Surface roughness value has an important role to estabilish the quality of components. To produce a good surface roughness of machined surface, one of the important thing depends on the friction between the cutting tool and workpiece material when cutting process occurred. The aim of this paper is to analyse the surface roughness values of machined surface when drilling of magnesium alloy AZ31 using design of experiment of Taguchi Method. The experimental trials took place at cutting rotation of 635, 970 and 1420 rpm, feed rate of 0.10, 0.18 and 0.24 mm/rev, diameter tool of 10, 12 and 14 mm. The cutting of magnesium alloy was done by using a convensional drilling machine with TCA –35Erlo. Analysis of variance on the data of surface roughness value was done to get which factor is the most significant. The result shows that the feed rate is the most significant factor that contributed on the surface rougness value of machined surface. The minimum surface roughness value was attained at cutting rotation of 970 rpm, feed rate of 0.10 mm/rev and diameter of tool of 14 mm. Therefore, it can be stated that selecting the low feed rate factor produced low surface roughness value. Another hand, using high cutting rotation resulted low surface roughness value.Keywords—drilling, surface roughness, magnesiun AZ31,Taguchi Method

Abstract

Inconel 718 merupakan bahan paduan berbasis nikel yang dapat bertahan pada suhu yang tinggi, baik ketahanan terhadap oksidasi yang tinggi ataupun ketahanan korosi pada suhu yang tinggi. Maka, inconel 718 dapat dijadikan bahan paduan yang ideal untuk aplikasi bidang industri seperti komponen mesin pesawat terbang, sektor otomotif dan kendaraan ruang angkasa. Karena memiliki karakteristik yang ekstrim, material inconel 718 dianggap sebagai material yang sulit dipemesinan. termasuk dalam pemesinan bubut.  Pada pemesinan bubut inconel 718,  umur pakai pahat lebih potong cepat mengalami keausan dibandingkan dengan material baja karena panas yang berlebih di wilayah pemotongan. Panas yang timbul disebabkan oleh gesekan antara pahat dan benda kerja, sehingga berdampak terhadap gaya potong. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh faktor kedalaman potong dan kadar pemakanan terhadap gaya potong yang terjadi selama proses pemesinan berlansung dengan variasi beberapa parameter pemesinan. Gaya potong yang terjadi menjadi penting untuk diketahui agar mendapatkan hasil yang optimal  bila melakukan pemesinan menggunakan material inconel 718. Besar kecilnya gaya potong dipengaruhi oleh parameter pemotongan seperti kecepatan potong, laju pemakanan, kedalaman potong dan geometri pahat potong. Untuk mengetahui besaran gaya pada proses pembubutan inconel 718 digunakan alat ukur gaya potong yaitu strain gauge yang dipasang di pemegang pahat karbida. Pada penelitian ini parameter pemotogan yang dipilih adalah kecepatan potong 340 rpm dan 640 rpm, laju pemakanan 0.5, 1 dan 1.5 mm/rev dan kedalaman potong sebesar 0.5, 0.75 dan 1 mm. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa gaya potong lebih rendah pada kecepatan spindel 640 rpm daripada kecepatan spindel 340 rpm. Meningkatnya laju pemakanan dari 0.5 hingga ke 1.5 mm/rev mengakibatkan gaya pemotongan yang dihasilkan semakin besar. Demikian juga bila semakin besar nilai kedalaman potong maka semakin besar juga nilai gaya potong yang dihasilkan. Oleh karena itu, baik kedalaman potong ataupun kadar pemakanan memberikan kontribusi yang nyata terhadap gaya potong yang dihasilkan selama proses pemesinan berlansung
