Abstract

The aim of research was to study the role of ascorbic acid as inhibitor to corrosion rate of steel of St 37, a steel with low carbon that has strong and tough properties. That organic compound was adsorb on surface and form thin layer that able to protect metal from oxidation. Inhibitor activity of ascorbic acid showed the optimum value at concentration of 60 ppm and maceration time of 10 days with the decreasing of corrosion rate of 47,58 %. Thus ascorbic acid showed the significant effect as inhibitor the corrosion rate of the St 37 steel.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to know the natural material which can we use to grow the mycelium and fruit body of tiram putih mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus). There are three kinds of media in this research, namely the straw, the sawmill powder, and the stem of an ear of corn. The mycelium of tiram putih mushroom could grow in the three kinds of media but the growth acceleration was different. The mycelium of tiram putih mushroom had the best growth acceleration in the sawmill powder media, number two in stem of an ear of corn media and then the straw media. The fruit body production in the straw media was better than that in the sawmill powder media.

Abstract

Effect of chemical reaction was discribed using the hard ball collision model and the present chemical reaction model on properties of the binary dense gas transport experiencing reversible reaction according to equation : A + A B + B. The reactive collision used near the final condition ofreaction, with the smallest of chemical affinity and near equilibrium. Discussion was done through framework of gas kinetic theory using base of extended of Boltzman equation. Effect of chemical reaction was found to appear in coefficient of gas transport as at bulk viscosity in form e*/kT. e*/kT.
