Abstract

Continous improvements to increase productivity is compulsory for small medium enterprise. The average value of productivity observed with Objective Matrix, in January-September 2014, is 261 . The main factorwhich affect the value of productivity is the number of defective products produced by Automatic Feeding and Sealing Machine.Approximately, 73.7% of total defective products is leak product. Thus, the main effortto increase value of  productivity is reduce the amount of leak products produced by those macine. After calculating the average value of productivity, design of experiment were performed using central composite design approach. Then measure optimum value for each independent variables using Response Surface Methodology. The optimal values are : Cup Type A ( supplied by PT.Indopack ) , the heater I’s temperature is 256.9 °C and the heater II’s temperature is 258.48 oC . with predicted number of leaked product is 0.86 . By using this setting , the value of productivity turned to 855, far above the average of the previous months.

Abstract

MSME AE Jaya is a food industrial company which produces Bakpia. It is located in Jalan Samadi Batu City. Recently, AE Jaya markets its products in Batu and Malang city. During its marketing, it faces some difficulties and problems in selling the products. Such as it is not accepted in a particular supermarket or even in a souvenir shop. It is because the standard packaging of its bakpia is not fulfilled yet. Not only that, it is also because the packaging is less interesting and less hygienic. Due to this condition, therefore a research is needed. The research aims to identify consumers’ attributes, technical requirement attributes and critical part attributes in bakpia’s packaging that produces by AE Jaya. Those aspects could be very helpful in identifying or knowing some information about an interesting packaging design and how to make a good packaging which is appropriate with consumers needs. The method used in this research is called Quality Function Deployment. The researcher used the first phase and the second phase of QFD. Based on the analysis that has been conducted, there are 8 consumers’ attributes, 10 technical requirement attributes and 9 critical part attributes.

Abstract

Paper writing with the existing writing format causing excessive paper usage. Excessive paper usage could lead to environmental destruction. Therefore, it is necessary to find an alternative in the writing procedure by doing an experimental design based on student reading comprehensive. This study uses Completely Randomized Factorial Experimental Design. After analysis of variance and the multiple comparisons test done, it results a new writing format alternative that use less paper than the existing writing procedure. In other hand, it results greater student reading comprehensive than the existing writing procedure. With the results, the application of the alternative procedure can save the paper usage and make student easier to understand the paper.
