Abstract

Abstract   The artwork Gita Dua Budaya was inspired by the life journey of its composer that was born in the family which has two different cultures. They are Minangkabau and Mandailing existed among modern and heterogenic society. This musical artwork was aimed at : (1) combining two traditional arts,  Minangkabau traditional art and Mandailing traditional art, that were generated from the traditional instruments of each culture and added by modern instruments. (2) raising love toward the traditional art of Minangkabau and Mandailing particularly for the young generations. (3) encouraging to do further study on traditional artworks in the archipelago. (4) Motivating the students of Drama, Dance and Music to find the positive experiences in improving the ability and the quality of playing music.   Kata kunci : Budaya, Kesenian, Mandailing, Minangkabau, Musik Tradisonal.

Abstract

Abstract This research was aimed at describing the form of Kompang art performed at a wedding ceremony in Muara Jangga. This research was a qualitative one with data collected through a literary studi, observation, interviews, documentations, recordings and photographs. The data analysis was classified into two that were primary data and secondary data which were designed systematically. The result of the research has shown that Kompang was performed in the form of Islamic songs assisted by Kompang music instruments. The song lyrics were taken from Nadzom (Al-barzanji). Kompang performed at the wedding ceremony was a kind of music ensamble played by men which escorts the bride and groom parade to the place where the wedding party would be held.   Kata Kunci: Bentuk Penyajian, Kompang, Pesta Perkawinan, Prosesi Arak-arakan , Muara Jangga

Abstract

AbstractThis article aims to describe the implementation of learning singing in class VII.2 SMP Negeri 20 Padang. The type of research used qualitative research with descriptive method. The object of this research is the Implementation of Singing Lesson in class VII.2 SMP Negeri 20 Padang. The instruments of this study are self-research and researcher assisted with supported instruments such as observation records, interview and photo cameras. Technique of data collecting done by literature review, observation, interview and documentation. The type of data used in this research is primary and secondary data. The result of this research showed that the process of implementation of learning in SMP Negeri 20 Padang was good in singing because of the increasing of  student learning outcomes at the second meeting. The implementation plan of learning has been implemented well during the learning process and it took the time to achieve the learning maximally for practice of singing and also the teacher's knowledge on music theory. The learning of art and culture uses teacher-centered or an expository or spoken learning strategy that is accompanied by direct practice in the classroom. The ability to sing of the students on the song Bungo Parawitan in class VII.2 can be said good because the results obtained from the 30 students or 80% have achieved above average score.Keyword: learning, singing, vocal technique, learning outcomes

Abstract

This study aims to describe the presentation of TambuaTansaD'palanos Art at a wedding party in LubukBasung, Agam Regency. This study belongs to a qualitative research using descriptive method. The object of this research was the TambuaTansa D palano's Art Group in LubukBasung, Agam Regency. The instrument of this research was the researcheritself and was assisted by supporting instruments such as stationery, laptops, and cellphones. The data were collected through observation, interview, and documentation. In the results of the study, the author concludes that the presentation of TambuaTansa D palano's art at a wedding party in LubukBasung, Agam Regency, is used as welcoming and accompaniment musicof the braid and groom on the way to the location where the wedding ceremony is held.The presentation of Tambua Tansa D Palano's Art is a kind of ensemble which presents several songs: Short Atam and Long Atam. Its form is presented in a performing art / stage in a circular formation.The presentation of Tambua Tansa D Palano's Art at a wedding party is an ensemble whose presentation is in the form of an opposite lined up and leading to each other. It is presented at the wedding location/ in front of the bridal house and on the highway as accompaniment music. The presentation of Tambuatansa D Palano's art at the wedding party is presented with tambua songs that have existedbefore. It is prepared carefully and usually performed around 10in the morning until the procession is over.

Abstract

Abstract This research was done due to the lack of student’s in learning arts at SD Negeri 18 Koto Tangah Tilatang Kamang. The lack of activities was caused by the unvaried learning method being used at the school. To overcome the problem,  the PAIKEM strategy was applied in this class action research. This research aimed at improving the fifth grade student’s activities in learning arts. Based on the data analysis, it was found that the use of PAIKEM in arts improved student’s activities. It was seen from the percentage of 78.5% for student’s attention to teacher, 62.0% for student’s exercises, 27.3% for student’s questions towards their learning, and 54.0% for their participations in front of the class.   Kata kunci: Activities,Ansamble,PAIKEM

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe and find out the implementation of vocal Technique learning at class VII-3 in SMP Negeri 12 Sijunjung. This type of study was a qualitative research with using descriptive methods. The object of this study was the students at class VII-3 in SMP N 12 Sijunjung who participated in vocal technique learning. The main instrument in this study was the researcher. The additional instruments were stationery and camera. Techniques of Data collection were carried out by taking literature study, observation, interviews, documentation study. The type of data used primary and secondary data. The steps in analyzing data were done by collecting, reducting, presentating and drawing data conclusions. The result shows that the vocal technique learning thatis carried out by the teacher atclass VII-3 does not run well and meet the target of the learning objectives. The teacher does not understand the material of vocal technique well so that the students do not understand the vocal technique. Therefore, there are still some students who have not been able to sing properly due to lack of practice, lack of understanding of the material and practice of vocal technique learning so that they get a low scores. The results of the practice of various vocal techniques namely the highest value only reaches 87 and the lowest value is 58 with an average value is 74.4%.

Abstract

 Abstract This study aims to describe students' learning motivation using peer tutor method in vocal technique lesson in class VII.6 SMP Negeri 1 Padang Gelugur Pasaman Regency. This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive method of analysis through the stages of preparation, implementation and evaluation. The object of research is the students of class VII.6 SMP Negeri 1 Padang Gelugur with the number of students 30 people. The data were collected using observation, interview and documentation techniques. The results showed that the students' learning motivation has increased in presenting national compulsory songs in accordance with respiratory techniques, posture, sound formation, articulation, phrasering and resonance. Be aware of the results of this study can be concluded that the motivation of students in SMP Negeri 1 Padang Gelugur in learning vocal practice can be increased by using tutor peer method. This is evident from the results of the evaluation of learning conducted in formative tests, the value of 30 students in class VII.6 complete and satisfactory because it meets the standard value of KKM established by the school that is 75 and the average student more than score 75. Keywordl: Learning, vocals, Peer Tutor.

Abstract

This study aims to describe Saluang Sirompak music of Abah Helmi version at Alek Pemuda event in Parik Dalam, Taeh Baruah village, Lima Puluh Kota regency, Payakumbuh City. This research belongs to a qualitative research using a descriptive approach. The main instrument in this study was the researcher itself and was assisted by supporting instruments such as writing tools and cameras. The data were collected through literature study, observation, interview, and documentation. The data analysis was conducted by collecting the data, clarifying the data, and summarizing the data. The results show that Saluang Sirompak of Abah Emi version is a folk performance art which is previously used as a ritual mean. Its song is in the form of a rhyme accompanied by Saluang and Gasiang Tangkurak musical instruments. There is no difference between the previous and current Saluang Sirompak song text anad between the old and present Saluang melodies. The use of the term Saluang Sirompak comes from the word Rompak /Rampok, so the lyrics are related to someone's desire to own someone by force. The musical form of Saluang Sirompak is a combination of Dendang accompanied by two musical instruments: Saluang Sirompak and Gasiang Tangkurak which form a complete unit. The music consists of three parts: part one (opening) of Saluang Sirompak and Gasiang Tangkurak instruments, part two (content) of Dendang accompanied by Saluang and Gasiang Tangkurak instruments, part three (closing) of saluang sirompak and gasiang tangkurak instruments. The music in Saluang Sirompak show has a minimum duration of 20 minutes. It starts with the Gasiang player who screams as a symbol of the beginning of part one. Dendang on Saluang Sirompak music is in the form of rhyme repeated alternately between one singer and another by singing one song, and this is the part two (content) of Saluang Sirompak music.

Abstract

This article aimed to analyze Dallideu song from the perspective of musicology.This was a qualitative research which used content analysis approach. The theory of Analysis, theory of Elements of Music, and theory of literature were used to analyze the data. The technique of data collection was begun by doing Observation, Library Studies, Interview, Labor Work (Analyzing Process) and Documentation. The result of analysis showed that Dallideu song was a song originated from oral literature (Kunaung) of Sungaipenuh community which was recorded to crystallize the old culture in the form of a song. The creation of Dallideu coincided with the birth of Dallideu Kunaung. The Dallideu song uses the major diatonic scale C = do, has 106 bars with a 4/4 beat and has a tempo of 110. The Dallideu song belongs to the 3-part A A 'B C song with the phrases a, a', c, c ', e, e '(antecedents) and the phrases b, b', d (consequences). It consists of 15 motifs (a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i, j, k, l, m, n, o). There are main chords (I, IV, V) and one assist chord (VII) during its chords’ develoment. Dallideu song has one kind of kadens (the perfect authentic kadens). It consists of nine phrases (a, a ', b, b', c, c ', d, e, e'). The relationship between the rhyme and melody in Dallideu song has a syllabic and melismatic form or it concerns more neither to the rhyme (logogenic) nor to the melody (melogenic).In association with the development of melody, interval, motif and rhythm of the song, the true meaning of Dallideu song is to provide a description or information from the community to the community, resembling the values contained in the song that tell thoughts and good values for the further community life. Keywords : Musicological, Analysis, Dallideu

Abstract

AbstractExtracurricular activities are often called ekskul is an extra activity within the institution, which is carried out outside the intrakurikuler activities. Extracurricular activities are intended so that students can develop a keen interest, talents and creativity in various academic fields outside. Own means extracurricular activities conducted outside of the students learn the curriculum standards. These activities exist at every level of education ranging from primary school up to College. This study aims to describe the process of the implementation of the experimental Method in the activities of extracurricular music in SMAN 7 field. In the learning activities of the teacher plays an important role in the achievement of learning objectives. An understanding of the implementation and mastery of the material by the teacher will become a reference in order to achieved the goal of learning. This type of research is a method of experimentation. The main instrument in this study is the researchers themselves. The tools used in this research is a form of writing instruments and cameras. the research of using primary data and secondary data, while the data collection technique through the study of librarianship, observation, interviews, and documentation. The research results showed that extracurricular activities in high school music N 7 the field gets a high from appreciative students, as well as many of the students who are interested in following the activities of the ekstrakurikule music halini aims so that students can improve creativity in playing music.
