Abstract

Entrepreneurship education has an important role in increasing entrepreneurial knowledge. Entrepreneurship education is given to nursing students through the Entrepreneurship Course. It is intended to encourage the spirit of independence for the nursing profession in the future. The purpose of this study is to find out the relationship between entrepreneurship knowledge with motivation and intention to become entrepreneurs in nursing students. This research is a correlation descriptive study with an observational design (non-experimental). The technique used is stratified random sampling and simple random sampling with a total of 163 student respondents. In addition, there is a significant relationship between entrepreneurship knowledge with motivation and intention to become entrepreneurs in nursing students. Furthermore, the results of this study are expected to be useful for students or nurses in improving the quality of entrepreneurship education in nursing students, especially in fostering motivation and intention to become entrepreneurs for nursing students.

Abstract

Administration of intravenous chemotherapy drugs to cancer patients requires sophisticated infusion fluid monitoring tools so that the therapy process is smooth, safe, and comfortable. Internet-based technology of things to monitor intravenous chemotherapy drug infusion fluids more accurately and easily. Non-systematic review literature, using online data base: Elsevier (ScienceDirect), IEEE Xplore, ProQuest, Sage Journal with keywords: "internet of things" AND "infusion monitoring" AND "chemotherapy", "infusion monitoring system" with filter: " full text”, “Published in the last 5 years”, “journal” AND “2017-2022”. Literature review of 10 journals using the internet of things to accurately monitor infusion fluids is beneficial for chemotherapy patients. Making a monitoring system for chemotherapy drug infusions in Indonesia based on the internet of things that is accurate, easy and cheap.

Abstract

Healthy behavior carried out by nurses often does not produce good results due to several factors. The risks that arise due to not behaving healthy nurses can reduce the health condition of nurses and the quality of service. The purpose of this study was to identify the factors that can influence the behavior of healthy nurses. The research method used a cross-sectional design to 356 nurses at the General Hospital in Jakarta. The results of the analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between age 35 years (p = 0.038) and education D3 Nursing/Midwifery (p = 0.034) with healthy nurse behavior. In multivariate analysis, the most influential variables on the behavior of healthy nurses were physical activity (p<0.05; OR = 4.760, 95%CI), spiritual (p=0.211; OR = 1.456, 95%CI) and stress management (p< 0.05; OR = 4.549, 95%CI). Recommendations to improve the behavior of healthy nurses by making healthy nurse programs on a regular basis.

Abstract

Sikap keselamatan perawat mempengaruhi tindakan dalam menerapkan implementasi asuhan keperawatan yang berbasis keselamatan pasien. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui hubungan karakteristik perawat dan sikap keselamatan, melalui penelitian cross sectional yang melibatkan 330 perawat di 3 rumah sakit veritkal Jakarta. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah Safety Attitudes Questionnaire dengan tambahan data demografi.  Terdapat hubungan signifikan antara karaktersitik perawat dan sikap  keselamatan perawat. Jenis kelamin, posisi, jenjang karir, pendidikan, usia serta pengalaman kerja secara signifikan berpengaruh pada sikap keselamatan (P<0,05). Perbaikan dan peningkatan sikap keselamatan perawat dapat dievaluasi dan diperbaiki dengan mempertimbangkan karaktersitik perawat agar upaya upaya tersebut dapat tepat sasaran dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan.

Abstract

Digital transformation in medical equipment logistics is a vital part of healthcare reform, aiming to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and patient safety. One of the main challenges at hospital is the manual documentation system for borrowing and returning medical equipment, which results in low accountability, service delays, and a high risk of equipment loss. : Case report area focused on the HCU/PICU unit. This study aims to describe the implementation process of a barcode-based digital medical inventory system through a managerial approach and planned change intervention based on Kurt Lewin's theory. A case report was conducted using Kurt Lewin’s planned change approach (unfreezing, moving, and refreezing), data analysis through observation, questionnaires, interviews, and implementation evaluation. The Assessment of Medical Equipment Management (MEM) questionnaire administered to 103 nurses revealed that 87.4% of units still use manual recording and 50.98% reported suboptimal coordination in equipment returns, with reliability  0.86 and validity loading factor ±0.5; content validity 85%. The intervention involved developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical guidelines for the "MedScan-KISA" barcode system, conducting simulation trials using Google Forms and barcode scanners, and directly supervising the implementation process. The implementation of a barcode-based digital inventory system in the HCU/PICU unit of hospital was carried out through a gradual change process based on Kurt Lewin’s theory. In the unfreezing phase, problems with the manual inventory system were identified through interviews, observations, and cross-unit discussions, leading to the design of a simple digital inventory system for the HCU/PICU unit. In the moving phase, an SOP was developed, simulations using barcodes and Google Forms were conducted, and intensive socialization and mentoring were provided to staff. Finally, in the refreezing phase, the new system was consistently practiced and integrated into daily routines in the HCU/PICU unit, thereby facilitating inventory recording and the return of medical equipment.

Abstract

The transition of newly graduated nurses into high-intensity environments such as Intensive Care Units (ICU) presents significant challenges, often resulting in psychological stress and a gap between theoretical knowledge and clinical practice. To bridge this gap, a structured and systematic orientation approach is essential. One proven method is preceptorship, in which senior nurses act as clinical mentors to support new nurses in their professional adaptation. This approach facilitates the development of professional identity, enhancement of clinical competence, and gradual internalization of a patient safety culture. Objective: To evaluate and strengthen the roles of head nurses and primary nurses in mentoring newly graduated nurses to optimize ICU orientation and enhance patient safety.  A pilot project method was applied, beginning with problem identification, problem analysis, priority setting, development of a Plan of Action, implementation, and evaluation. The implementation of a preceptorship-based orientation program, supported by clear guidelines and checklists, improved the effectiveness of clinical mentoring by Primary Nurses in the ICU. Through a systematic change approach, the program successfully strengthened the role of preceptors, accelerated the adaptation of new nurses, and fostered a sustainable clinical learning culture. The preceptorship-based orientation program effectively facilitated the transition of newly graduated nurses into the ICU setting by enhancing clinical competence, confidence, and professional adaptation. Strengthening the role of preceptors and implementing structured guidelines fostered a supportive learning environment, reduced the theory–practice gap, and promoted a sustainable culture of patient safety and continuous professional development.

Abstract

The daily competency log represents an innovative strategy to enhance nurses’ clinical competency development, particularly in the high-complexity environment of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This initiative aims to implement and evaluate the daily competency log as a structured tool for monitoring, reflection, and strengthening nursing professionalism at X Hospital. A quality improvement case report approach was applied, encompassing observation, interviews, questionnaires, implementation, and evaluation phases. This study involved 29 NICU nurses selected through total sampling to evaluate the implementation of a Daily Nursing Competency Log. The instrument showed good validity (r > 0.514) and high reliability (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.87), supporting its effectiveness in improving documentation, reflection, and professional accountability among nurses. Prior to its introduction, no structured competency documentation system existed, not all NICU nurses were certified, and nurse placement was not fully aligned with competency levels. Through pilot testing, socialization, and ongoing mentorship, the daily competency log was successfully introduced and gradually adopted. Digital evaluation indicated that nurses perceived the tool as beneficial for recording daily nursing practices, despite technical limitations such as suboptimal formatting and inefficient competency search features. Conducted collaboratively with the Assistant Manager of Nursing Care, the initiative also established a follow-up plan to refine the system and its content. In conclusion, the daily competency log contributes positively to the advancement of NICU nurses’ clinical competencies and holds significant potential for sustainable integration into the hospital’s nursing human resource quality management system.

Abstract

Pain is one of a problem in children suffering from cancer which affects to the quality of life of children, inhibits the recovery process, inhibits daily activities and result in long-term morbidity. Aim of this literature review is to identify the therapeutic effect of mHealth (Mobile Health) application for pain management of children suffering from cancer. This article is a literature review using several online databased such as: ClinicalKey, PubMed, Science Direct, ProQuest, EBSCO, Scopus, BioMed Central, and Google Scholar published from 2014-2019 using several of keywords. A selection of 10 full text articles was selected which was then analyzed. The analysis results of 10 articles about mHealth (Mobile Health) therapy in pain management in children suffering from cancer are effective, especially in the management of pain at home. Based on these results, the authors suggest to use mHealth (Mobile Health) therapy in children with cancer to support programmed therapy.

Abstract

As the development of technology either vein viewer continues to develop. The use of vein viewers in hospitals helps medical personnel especially nurses to perform venipuncture. Aim of this literature review is to identify the use of vein viewers by nurses to performing venipuncture in children. This literature review uses the Sciendirect, ProQuess, Google Scholar, and IEEE Xplore databases to find journal articles that are relevant to the 2015- 2019 limits using several keywords. Result of analyzed and obtained 5 journal which related with topic of literature review about vein viewer have advantage to process of venipuncture in children. Based on these results, the authors suggest to use of vein viewers in all rooms in the hospital to perform venipuncture measures in children, and suggest conducting research for further development related to existing vein viewer devices.

Abstract

Immunization is important for children because it can prevent various infectious diseases thatcan inhibit a child's growth and development. The provision of immunization in children isoften found various obstacles caused by the target of immunization cannot be achieved. Thiscan be caused due to a lack of information and immunization schedule errors due to the manytypes of immunizations with different schedules. As technology develops, various health-relatedcellular applications emerge called mhealth. Mhealth related to immunization is expected toincrease information for parents so they can provide immunizations for their children asrecommended. The purpose of this study is to determine the role of mobile applications relatedto immunization in increasing immunization information for parents. Literature is collected forreview, literature search uses several online databases that are included in the inclusioncriteria and is limited to 2015-2020. Nine articles are used as the main analysis, other articlesare added to support the discussion. Cellular applications related to immunization areavailable in various forms. Overall, these applications have a major role in providinginformation about immunization knowledge and immunization schedule information to increaseparental participation to provide immunizations to their children in full. Therefore, healthworkers, especially those directly related to child immunization, are advised to encourage theuse of mobile applications related to immunization against parents in order to achieve goalsrelated to immunization in children.
