Abstract

This research was conducted in Dulamayo Utara Village, Telaga Biru District, Gorontalo Regency. This study aims to determine: 1) The risk of corn farming production in Dulamayo Utara Village, Telaga Biru District, Gorontalo Regency, 2) How much is the income of corn farming in Dulamayo Utara Village, Telaga Biru District, Gorontalo Regency. This study's population consists of corn farmers in Dulamayo Utara Village, Telaga Biru District, and Gorontalo Regency, totaling 297 people. In taking samples for this study using simple random sampling using the Solvin formula, the number of researcher samples was 39 respondents. The data analysis method used production risk analysis using the production variation coefficient formula and income analysis using the farm income formula. The results showed that using the Coefficient of Variation (CV), the corn production risk value could be calculated as 0.348 or <0.5, which can be categorized as low risk because the variation coefficient value is less than 0.5. This is also influenced by several factors, such as weather factors and pest and disease attacks, that farmers do not handle quickly and appropriately. The income obtained by 39 respondents in Dulamayo Utara Village, Telaga Biru District, Gorontalo Regency each year is Rp540,965,167. with an average/farmer of Rp13,870,902 and an average/ha of Rp9,326,897. This means that corn in Dulamayo Utara Village, Telaga Biru District, Gorontalo Regency, is quite helpful for the farmers' economy.

Most farmers in West Tulabolo Village, located in East Suwawa District, carry out extensive coconut cultivation. Farmers obtain coconut in granular form. Usually, coconut farmers who live in West Tulabolo Village sell copra as the primary means of commercialising their coconut products. The main objective of this research is to determine the income and feasibility of the copra industry in West Tulabolo Village, located in East Suwawa District, Bone Bolango Regency. The research location was deliberately chosen because the potential for coconut cultivation is quite significant. The research was carried out from March to June 2023. The population in this study consisted of a sample of 15 farmers selected using a saturated sampling technique, which included the entire copra farming community. This research uses primary and secondary data sources. This research uses a quantitative descriptive methodology to analyse the data. Research findings reveal an average total cost of IDR. 4,127,127 per harvest, which is the total revenue of IDR9,772,500 per harvest, and a total income of IDR5,645,373 per harvest. The calculated R/C value is 2.36, while the B/C value is 1.36. Therefore, it can be said that the copra business in West Tulabolo Village shows that it is feasible to continue, as evidenced by the R/C and B/C ratios exceeding 1.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of production factors on income in corn farming. This study falls within the descriptive quantitative approach category of survey research. Both primary and secondary data types are utilized. In order to get a sample of 51 corn farmers, the sampling technique employed is a systematic sampling of the population of 819 corn farmers. Multiple linear regression analysis is the data analysis method used. The findings revealed that According to a significant value of 0.000, the independent variables of land area, labor, seeds, fertilizer, pesticides, and agricultural machinery all have a tangible impact on the dependent variable of farmer income when taken together (simultaneously). Second, five independent variables have a genuine (significant) impact on the dependent income variable: land area, labor, seeds, fertilizer, and pesticides. In contrast, agricultural machinery has no influence (insignificant) on income. Third, the coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.823 indicates that the independent variables under investigation account for 82.3% of the revenue, while production factors unrelated to the dependent variables account for 17.7%.

Abstract

This research seeks to examine the food consumption patterns and assess the food security levels of households belonging to wet-rice farmers in Mekar Jaya Village, Duhiadaa District, Pohuwato Regency. The research was carried out between June and July 2024, employing a quantitative approach and utilizing a purposive sampling method. The sample size was calculated using the Harry King Nomogram formula. It yielded a 90% confidence interval with a 10% margin of error. So, out of a total of ninety-one people, forty-one were chosen to participate. The variables examined encompassed food consumption patterns, expenditure on food, and energy sufficiency. The analysis of data was conducted utilizing the food recall method, alongside cross-classification between food expenditure shares and energy adequacy, referencing a standard of 2,100 kcal/day. The findings indicated that the average household energy consumption was 1,544 kcal/day, falling short of the recommended energy adequacy standard. The proportion of food expenditure averaged 52%, while energy consumption accounted for 74%. Cross-classification indicated that a significant number of households fell into the food insufficient category, marked by low energy consumption and a substantial portion of their expenditure allocated to food.
