Abstract

This research identifies and addresses the waste problem at Yanto's Truck Seat Service, with the main focus on measuring seat dimensions and marking the leather and foam. This waste occurs because seats with the exact dimensions are often re-measured, resulting in inefficient use of resources. To solve this problem, we developed a tool in the form of a mall or jig that facilitates the measurement of upholstery dimensions and the cutting of leather and foam. Through this improvement, we reduced the number of work elements before the improvement from 21 to 20. The process of measuring seat dimensions and cutting leather and seat foam was eliminated from the production process. As a result, the production time was significantly reduced by 884 seconds. Before the improvement, the production time reached 5276.33 seconds per unit; after the improvement, it became 4392.33 seconds per unit. This improvement also positively impacts daily production, which can now reach the target of 3 units per day. Takt time in the production process before the improvement was 4800 seconds per unit, multiplied by 3 units, which is 14,400 seconds for 3 units. With this improvement, the production time is faster than the takt time. Future research can consider improving the layout of Yanto's Truck Seat Service to further increase the efficiency of the production process, given that there is still potential for improvement in reducing the time required to move between processes.

Abstract

Currently, almost every household in Indonesia has a motorbike, this is certainly a business opportunity. One of the most important components of a motorbike is the tire which functions to reduce vibration and protect the wheel from wear and damage. The business environment operating in the automotive sector needs to create high-quality goods or services to increase customer satisfaction. Costs in the company's productive processes must be reduced to achieve effectiveness. The object of this research is the XYZ Tire Workshop located in East Jakarta. In a day, the XYZ Ban workshop can provide up to 25 to 30 motorbike tire changes. Meanwhile, the workforce on duty is only 2 mechanics and the quantity of tools is limited. This causes delays and makes customers have to wait quite a long time before their motorbike can be worked on. The Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) method which is included in lean tools is the key to reducing set-up process time. In general, SMED aims to standardize and simplify operating processes. The SMED technique is used as an element in Total Productivity Maintenance (TPM) in various studies to achieve lean manufacturing. Based on research data, the set-up time before implementing SMED was 177 seconds. After implementing the SMED method, the setup time was 126 seconds. This shows that the SMED method can reduce set-up time by 51 seconds.

Abstract

Work posture plays a crucial role in productivity, and improper postures can lead to ergonomic issues, particularly muscle injuries in workers. The downstream polymer automotive industry, particularly in the production of automotive components using plastic injection processes, often involves workers in various work postures, increasing the risk of muscle injuries. Non-ergonomic work postures can result in muscle tension and health problems, emphasizing the need for a focus on safety and ergonomics in the work environment. This study employed the Ovako Working Posture Assessment System (OWAS) and Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) methods to analyze work postures in the automotive industry. Research recommendations include the necessity for ergonomic control efforts to reduce the impact of muscle injuries due to suboptimal work postures. These ergonomic measures are expected to decrease injury risks, enhance productivity, and contribute to the safety and well-being of workers in the automotive industry. The study provides a foundation for companies to improve efficiency, work quality, and safety conditions in the future.

Abstract

PT HMG is a manufacturing company that uses injection moulding machines to produce plastic components for the electronics, automotive and engineering industries. The problems found at PT HMG are that the finished goods are not placed in an orderly manner or that the goods are not neatly arranged. The placement of these goods is still mixed with goods that have run out, so the process of moving goods is not optimal and the risk of picking inappropriate goods is higher. This has an impact on delivery errors and the sub-optimal process of moving goods can cause delays in delivery to the customer. Dedicated storage is a layout design method for storing goods where the storage location is fixed. This method uses throughput as areference when positioning goods so that goods with a high flow of movement are prioritised to minimise the time it takes to move goods to I/O points. The difference in the total distance to the I/O point for the proposed layout is 17,809 metres, or 9% of the previous layout. With this layout improvement, the company is able to reduce the waste caused by material handling activities in the finished goods warehouse.

Abstract

Pada zaman sekarang ini peningkatan produktivitas dan kualitas menjadi kunci sebuah perusahaan untuk tetap bertahan, tak terkecuali bagi  PT Ganding Toolsindo yang merupakan perusahaan komponen otomotif. Continous improvement adalah salah satu cara dalam lean manufacturing untuk meningkatkan daya saing dan meminimasi waste. Dalam mengatasi permasalahan waste dari non added value time, salah satu alat dari lean manufacturing yang paling sering digunakan adalah Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) atau jika ditranlasikan dapat diartikan pergantian alat dengan cepat. Untuk itu, pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini memfokuskan pada implementasu SMED di PT Ganding Toolsindo untuk pengurangan waktu setup mesin dan peningkatan produktivitas. Hasil dari implementasi SMED ini adalah pengurangan waktu penggantian sebesar 88% dari waktu awal. Pengembangan selanjutnya dari pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dapat dilakukan dengan memastikan pengubahan setup  dari internal ke eksternal tidak menimbulkan penambahan waktu pada pekerjaan atau aktivitas lain.

Abstract

Pengelasan adalah proses penting dalam pembuatan komponen logam, termasuk base frame, yang membutuhkan presisi dan efisiensi tinggi. Namun, proses pengelasan manual sering kali menghadapi masalah ketidakstabilan dan ketidakkonsistenan hasil. PkM ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan jig welding dalam proses pengelasan base frame guna meningkatkan efisiensi dan kualitas hasil pengelasan. Jig welding dirancang untuk menahan dan menempatkan material dengan presisi, mengurangi waktu penataan, serta meminimalkan kesalahan manusia. Melalui penggunaan jig welding, diharapkan dapat terjadi peningkatan signifikan dalam efisiensi waktu dan pengurangan biaya produksi, sekaligus meningkatkan keselamatan kerja. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi jig welding dapat meningkatkan kecepatan proses pengelasan hingga 80%, mengurangi cacat pengelasan, dan memperbaiki kualitas

Abstract

The cause of global warming occurring in the world originates from the transportation sector, particularly Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles using fossil fuels. As a response, the Indonesian government has enacted regulations aimed at accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles. Electric vehicles developed in Indonesia encompass two-wheeled, three-wheeled, four-wheeled, and other types that operate by utilizing electrical energy stored in the vehicle's battery. One notable development involves the conversion of ICE motorcycles into electric motorcycles. This study seeks to assess the investment feasibility of implementing convertible motorcycles from economic, environmental, and social perspectives. The economic aspects are evaluated by calculating net present value (NPV) and payback period (PP), with the study's results demonstrating the economic viability of implementing convertible motorcycles. Furthermore, environmental considerations involve the comparison of chemical substances emitted as pollutants, with the results indicating the feasibility of this approach due to its potential to reduce air pollution. Lastly, the social aspect encompasses the review of potential impacts should converted electric motorcycles be produced on a large scale. The success of implementing convertible motorcycles necessitates the collaboration of various stakeholders, including the government, small and medium enterprises, electricity service providers, and the awareness of the public.

Abstract

Perencanaan produksi merupakan suatu kegiatan yang sangat penting dan diperlukan dalam suatu perusahaan. Perencanaan produksi dapat dimulai dengan peramalan permintaan konsumen yang akan menjadi patokan dalam menentukan jumlah barang yang akan diproduksi. Bagian produksi tiang besi merupakan bagian yang sangat penting pada PT XYZ karena tiang besi merupakan produksi tertua yang masih beroperasi dan menghasilkan keuntungan terbesar bagi perusahaan. Permintaan pasar terhadap tiang besi tidaklah merata disetiap bulannya melainkan cendrung berpola musiman. Hal ini menyebabkan perencanaan produksi yang dilakukan oleh pihak perusahaan seringkali tidak tepat sehingga pemanfaatan sumber daya tidak merata disetiap periodenya. Oleh sebab itu perlu dilakukan penelitian agar dapat merencanakan produksi yang tepat untuk pola permintaan musiman. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian peramalan dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode konstan karena memiliki error terkecil. Sedangkan Perencanaan produksi agregat yang terpilih yaitu level strategy dengan total biaya produksi sebesar Rp. 3.644.729.500,-. Berdasarkan hasil perencanaan produksi agregat dan disagregasi didapatkan jadwal induk produksi untuk setiap jenis tiang per periode dengan jumlah produksi terbanyak yaitu jenis tiang 11-200.

Abstract

Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) yang dilakukan bertujuan meningkatkan keberlangsungan bisnis Bengkel Motor melalui sosialisasi manajemen persediaan berbasis cloud. Melalui desain dan implementasi Mini Sistem Inventory Control (Mini SICo), program ini berfokus pada meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan pengelolaan persediaan pada pemilik dan karyawan bengkel. Kegiatan ini meliputi kunjungan lapangan, sosialisasi konsep manajemen persediaan, dan demonstrasi penggunaan Mini SICo. Hasilnya menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan dalam pemahaman mitra tentang manajemen persediaan dan respons positif terhadap sosialisasi serta implementasi alat bantu ini. Evaluasi program menunjukkan bahwa Mini SICo memberikan solusi praktis untuk optimalisasi persediaan dan memberikan kontribusi nyata pada peningkatan daya saing dan keberlangsungan bisnis bengkel motor di masa depan. The Community Service Program (PKM) aims to improve the business sustainability of motorcycle repair shops through the socialization of cloud-based inventory management. Through the design and implementation of the Mini Inventory Control System (Mini SICo), this program focuses on improving the understanding and skills of inventory management in workshop owners and employees. The activities included field visits, socialization of inventory management concepts, and demonstration of the use of Mini SICo. The results showed a significant increase in partners' understanding of inventory management and a positive response to the socialization and implementation of this tool. The program evaluation showed that Mini SICo provided a practical solution for inventory optimization and made a real contribution to improving the competitiveness and future sustainability of the motorcycle workshop business.

Abstract

Pekerjaan dalam industri otomotif memiliki resiko Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3) bagi para pekerja dan orang lain yang sedang berada di lingkungan tersebut. Bahaya dapat diminimalisir dengan perbaikan kerja. Salah satu metode untuk perbaikan kerja adalah metode 5R. Metode 5R adalah kepanjangan dari Ringkas, Rapi, Resik, Rawat dan Rajin. Metode  5R merupakan sebuah pendekatan untuk mengatur lingkungan kerja dengan cara mengeliminasi waste sehingga tercipta lingkungan kerja yang efektif, efisien dan produktif. Bengkel Bina Motor berlokasi di Jalan Sungai Bambu, Kecamatan Tanjung Priok, Kota Jakarta Utara. Berdasarkan hasil observasi awal pada bengkel bina motor, tim PkM menemukan bahwa bengkel belum menerapkan 5R. Hal tersebut ditunjukkan dengan kondisi lingkungan bengkel dan peralatan yang tidak rapi. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat bersifat sosialisasi mengenai metode 5R, pengetahuan dasar konsep 5R, serta tahapan-tahapan untuk mengimplementasikan metode 5R di bengkel sepeda motor sebagai bentuk pengembangan, penyebarluasan ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi dan wawasan dengan melibatkan 2 orang montir bengkel Bina Motor. Pelaksanaan pengabdian ini dimulai dengan observasi kondisi awal bengkel, dilanjutkan dengan sosialisasi & edukasi metode 5R serta pendampingan implementasi metode 5R di lapangan. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah metode 5R telah di implementasikan di bengkel Bina Motor untuk mengurangi bahaya ditempat kerja bagi para montir.
