Abstract

Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) merupakan salah satu agen hayati kelompok mikroba tanah yang berada di sekitar akar tanaman, dimana baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung terlibat dalam memacu pertumbuhan serta perkembangan tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh aplikasi Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobakteria (PGPR) terhadap sifat kimia tanah ultisol. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Januari 2022 sampai dengan bulan April 2022 dilakukan Jalan Pelita Tiga, Rantauprapat,  Kabupaten Labuhan Batu, Sumatera Utara, Indonesia. Pengambilan tanah ultisol dilakukan dengan mencari lahan kosong yang jauh dari pemukiman, lalu membersihkan permukaan tanah dari gulma dan sampah, kemudian megambil tanah dengan menggunakan cangkul mengambil tanah dengan kedalaman 20cm. Hasil penelitian diperoleh data kandungan beberapa sifat kimia tanah mengalami perubahan, yaitu kadar N-total 0.13%, kadar P-total 0.07-0.09% sedangkan kadar  K-total 0.08-0.14% .

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aplikasi pemberian pupuk organik cair dari kulit pisang (Musa paradisiaca L) terhadap pertumbuhan  pembibitan kelapa sawit pre- nursery dan konsentrasi yang terbaik yang dibutuhkan untuk pertumbuhan pada pembibitan kelapa sawit pre-nursery. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 6 perlakuan dengan 4 ulangan, P4 (400ml), P5 (500ml) yaitu P0 (kontrol), P1 (100ml), P2 (200ml), P3 (300ml). Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari-Maret 2022 di laboratorium dan  halaman belakang lokasi rumah peneliti, tepatnya di Desa Perbaungan di Kabupaten Labuhan Batu Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Variabel yang diamati yaitu berat basah, dan tinggi tanaman,jumlah daun, serta berat kering,dan  panjang akar. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu kulit pisang mampu memberikan pengaruh pada tinggi tumbuhan minggu ke 2 dan 1 tetapi tidak berbeda nyata terhadap jumlah daun, panjang akar, berat basah dan berat kering. Perlakuan P3 (300 ml) merupakan dosis yang terbaik dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan pembibitan sawit pre-nursery.

Abstract

Lahan gambut perlu mendapatkan pengelolaan yang khas agar tidak terjadi perubahan karakteristik yang menyebabkan produktivitas lahan menurun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik sifat fisika tanah gambut yang telah diinkubasi pupuk kascing dari campuran kotoran ayam, bonggol pisang dan ampas tahu. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan 3 perlakuan yaitu P0 = 1 kg tanah gambut, P1 = 1 kg tanah gambut + 500 gram kascing, P2 = 1 kg tanah gambut + 1 kg kascing. Parameter yang diamati yaitu sifat fisika tanah yang meliputi bulk density, total ruang pori, kapasitas lapang dan titik layu. Karakteristik kepadatan massa(berat isi)pada perlakuan P0 sebesar 0,13; P1 sebesar 0,16 dan P2 sebesar 0,175. Karakteristik porositas/total ruang pori pada perlakuan P0 sebesar 42,85; P1 sebesar 45,22 dan P2 sebesar 47,22. Karakteristik kapasistas lapang pada perlakuan P0 sebesar 243,7; P1 sebesar 254,77 dan P2 sebesar 254,87.  Karakteristik titik layu pada perlakuan P0 sebesar 126,2; P1 sebesar 128,22 dan P2 sebesar 133,72. Pemberian kascing dari campuran kotoran ayam, bonggol pisang dan ampas tahu pada tanah gambut dapat memperbaiki sifat fisika tanah gambut yaitu dengan meningkatkan bulk density pada P1 sebesar 0,03 dan pada P2 sebesar 0,045 gr dari P0; total ruang pori pada P1 sebesar 2,37% dan pada P2 sebesar 4,37% dari P0; kapasitas lapang pada P1 sebesar 11,055% dan pada P2 sebesar 11,155% dari P0; dan titik layu pada P1 sebesar 2,055% dan pada P2 sebesar 7,55% dari P0.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh zat pengatur tumbuh ekstrak tauge sebagai ZPT alami pada berbagai konsentrasi terhadap pertumbuhan pembibitan tanaman kelapa sawit. Sehingga dapat mengetahui berapa konsentrasi yang paling baik untuk pertumbuhan bibit kelapa sawit. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental dengan pendekatan kuantitatif yang menggunakan metode penelitian Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) non factorial. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan sidik ragam (Analysis of Variance) pada jenjang nyata 5 %. Apabila ada beda nyata dalam perlakuan diuji lanjut dengan DMRT (Duncan Multiple Range Test) pada jenjang nyata 5 %. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh pertumbuhan bibit kelapa sawit dengan pemberian ekstrak tauge. Dosis 200ml ektrak tauge lebih efektif mampu meningkatkan pertumbuhan tinggi tanaman dan diameter tanaman. Dan dosis yang lebih tinggi dari 200ml dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bibit kelapa sawit.

Abstract

Padi (Oryza sativa L.) merupakan tanaman pangan paling penting di Indonesia. Kabupaten Labuhanbatu merupakan salah satu kabupaten di Provinsi Sumatera Utara yang memiliki jenis padi lokal, yaitu padi lokal varietas Ramos yang mempunyai rasa nasi enak, akan tetapi produktivitasnya rendah dan umur tanaman lama. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh aplikasi iradiasi sinar gamma pada pertumbuhan bibit padi lokal ramos generasi M1. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Non Faktorial dengan 3 ulangan. Dosis yang digunakan adalah 0 (kontrol), 150 Gy, 200 Gy, 250 Gy dan 300 Gy. Parameter yang diamati adalah nilai Lethal Dosis 50 % (LD50), tinggi bibit dan panjang akar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai LD50 pada 1 Minggu Setelah Semai (MSS) pada kisaran dosis 150 – 200 Gy yaitu 165 Gy dan pada 2 MSS yaitu pada dosis 175 Gy. Iradiasi menyebabkan penurunan yang nyata pada karakter tinggi bibit. Penghambatan pertumbuhan bibit berbeda nyata pada perlakuan iradiasi 300 Gy. Abstract

Jakaba (perennial luck mushroom) is a fungus derived from the fermentation of rice laundry water (leri). This fungus has the same physical shape as coral but has a fragile texture. This study aims to find out the growth of jakaba with the addition of organic matter in rice laundry water. The research was conducted in Padang Halaban village, Aek Kuo District, Labuhan Batu Utara Regency, North Sumatra. The research was conducted by mixing 1 liter of leri water with 400 grams of organic ingredients such as bran, banana peel and catfish feed Research was carried out by repeating each treatment as much as 6 repetitions with the parameters of salting, namely aroma, color, growth and diameter of jakaba. Based on observations, it is known that the growth of jakaba fungus occurs on the 12th day to the 15th day with the largest jakaba diameter which is 52.9 mm (P2) and the smallest is 40.25 mm (P1). The addition of other organic matter to leri water gives a different aroma and color of jakaba to each treatment.

Abstract

Corn (Zea mays L.) is a primary agricultural commodity in Indonesia, alongside rice and soybeans. This study aims to evaluate the growth of local corn plants in North Sumatra after applying various doses of bokashi fertilizer. The research was conducted in Perbaungan Village, Bilah Hulu District, Labuhanbatu Regency, North Sumatra, from December 2024 to February 2025. The study employed a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with a one-factor experiment, focusing on applying bokashi fertilizer to corn plants. Five treatments were tested: Control (no application), 80 grams per polybag (4 x 20 grams every 2 weeks), 120 grams per polybag (4 x 30 grams every 2 weeks), 180 grams per polybag (4 x 40 grams every 2 weeks), and 200 grams per polybag (4 x 50 grams every 2 weeks). The parameters observed included plant height, number of leaves, and stem diameter. Data analysis was performed using the Tukey Test (BNJ) at a significance level of 5%. The results indicated that the application of bokashi fertilizer significantly influenced the growth of local corn in North Sumatra, with the most favorable outcomes observed at 8 weeks after planting (WAP). The highest plant height recorded was 141.65 cm (P4), the number of leaves was 11.50 strands (P3), and the stem diameter measured 2.73 cm (P4).

Abstract

Chili pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.) is a plant commonly cultivated in Indonesia. This research employed an empirical, quantitative experimental approach using a Randomized Block Design (RBD). The study included three treatment groups with varying concentrations of cigarette butt biopesticides: a control group, and treatment groups at 10 ml/L, 20 ml/L, and 30 ml/L. The results indicated that biopesticides derived from cigarette butt waste extracts significantly affected the control of whitefly pests on chili peppers. The ANOVA test yielded an F value of 150.044 with a significance level of 0.000, demonstrating a highly significant difference among the treatments. The control group exhibited the highest average mortality rate of 62.22% for pests, followed by the 10 ml/L treatment at 50.67%, the 20 ml/L treatment at 42.67%, and the 30 ml/L treatment, which was the least effective, with an average mortality rate of 32.00%. These findings suggest that higher concentrations of the extract are more effective in reducing the number of living pests, positioning this biopesticide as an environmentally friendly alternative for pest control.

Abstract

Tomato plants (Lycopersicon esculentum L.) are among the most widely consumed vegetables worldwide and belong to the Solanaceae family. They represent a vegetable commodity with significant potential for development. This study aims to evaluate the effect of applying empty oil palm bunch ash (ATKKS) on the growth of tomato plants. The research employed a non-factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with four treatments and five replications. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), followed by a 5% Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) for further comparison. The results showed that the Sand Soil Treatment combined with 450 grams of Empty Oil Palm Bunch Ash per polybag was the most effective in promoting vegetative growth. This yield was evidenced by a significant increase in plant height, number of leaves, and stem diameter compared to other treatments. This finding indicates that the combination can optimally supply the nutrients required by plants up to the fourth week. For future research, it is recommended to evaluate the effects of this treatment during the generative phase of plant development and on production yields. Additionally, assessing its effectiveness on other plant species and under various environmental conditions will help broaden its practical application in the field.

Abstract

Green mustard (Brassica juncea L.) is a popular vegetable among Indonesians across all social classes. It has high nutritional value and is rich in vitamins A, B, C, E, and K. This study aims to determine the effect of liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) on the vegetative growth of green mustard (Brassica juncea L.). The research employed analysis of variance (ANOVA) for data analysis, using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). If significant differences were found, further testing was conducted using the smallest real difference test. The results showed that treatment with 90 ml/L of LOF derived from bamboo leaf waste consistently produced the best growth results over three weeks of observation, with plant height reaching 21.00 cm, the number of leaves reaching 9.67, and the largest leaf width measuring 6.33 cm. These data indicate that applying 90 ml/l of bamboo leaf waste LOF significantly improves plant morphology and health compared to other treatments, suggesting that this treatment can be an effective strategy to increase the productivity of green mustard.
