Abstract

Udang Penaeid merupakan salah satu komoditas perairan yang dibudidayakan dan diminati oleh masyarakat saat ini. Udang Pisang (Penaeus sp.) adalah salah satu udang yang termasuk ke dalam Genus Penaeus yang hanya dapat dijumpai di wilayah Pantai Barat Aceh dan mulai dibudidayakan. Kegiatan budidaya tersebut tidak terlepas dari infeksi parasit, baik endoparasit maupun ektoparasit. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei sampai dengan Agustus 2018 dan bertujuan untuk mengetahui profil hemosit Udang Pisang (Penaeus sp.) yang dibudidayakan pada tambak di Pantai Barat Aceh ditinjau dari serangan ektoparasit dan parameter kualitas airnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Total Haemocyte Count (THC) rata-rata Udang Pisang (Penaeus sp.) dari Kabupaten Aceh Besar, Aceh Jaya, Aceh Barat dan Nagan Raya berkisar antara 3.97- 4.90 x 107 sel/ml. Jenis ektoparasit yang menyerang Udang Pisang (Penaeus sp.) adalah Vorticella sp., Epistylis sp., dan Zoothamnium sp. Parameter kualitas air yang diukur selama penelitian menunjukkan kisaran DO 3.98 – 4.27 mg/L, suhu 33.2 – 35.7 oC, pH 7 – 7.6, dan salinitas 22.4 – 26 ppt.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi karakter morfologi ikan Serukan (Osteochilus sp) yang ada di Povinsi Aceh. Sampel berasal dari tiga Kabupaten yaitu Aceh Timur, Aceh Tengah dan Aceh Barat. Masing-masing populasi diambil 10 ekor ikan serukan betina dan jantan, identifikasi karakter morfologi dilakukan dengan metode truss morphometric yang meliputi pengukuran 21 titik karakter pada kerangka tubuh. Analisis data menunjukkan bahwa tiga populasi ikan serukan memiliki perbedaan yang signifikan pada dua karakter yaitu pada tubuh bagian depan (B3, B4, B6) dan tubuh bagian belakang (C3 dan C4), karakter lainnya cenderung sama. Populasi asal Aceh Timur dan Barat memiliki bentuk tubuh yang panjang-ramping, sedangkan populasi ikan asal Aceh Tengah cenderung memiliki bentuk tubuh yang pendek-lebar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei sampai dengan Juli 2018. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis, intensitas dan prevalensi ektoparasit yang menyerang Udang Pisang (Penaeus sp.) yang dibudidayakan pada tambak di Kabupaten Aceh Jaya. Sebanyak 20 sampel dikumpulkan dari tambak yang berada di Kabupaten Aceh Jaya, selanjutnya dilakukan pengamatan ektoparasit pada organ luar udang dengan menggunakan mikroskop pada Laboratorium MIPA Terpadu Universitas Teuku Umar. Hasil pegamatan menunjukkan bahwa ditemukan tiga jenis ektoparasit yang menyerang udang pisang yang berasal dari tambak di kabupaten tersebut dengan tingkat prevalensi tertinggi secara berurutan adalah Vorticella sp. sebesar 80%, Zoothamnium sp. sebesar 65%, dan Epistylis sebesar 40%. Sedangkan intensitas ektoparasit udang pisang adalah Vorticella sp. sebanyak 7,31 ind/ekor, Zoothamnium sp. sebanyak 6.69 ind/ekor dan Epistylis sebanyak 5,38 ind/ekor. Parameter kualitas air yang diukur pada saat pengumpulan sampel adalah suhu 34,2oC, DO 4,.27 mg/L, salinitas 26 ppt dan pH 7,3.

Abstract

Sampah laut telah menjadi masalah dan ancaman bagi ekosistem, keanekaragaman hayati maupun kehidupan laut. Oleh sebab itu, diperlukan kebijakan, strategi mitigasi dan rencana aksi yang tepat untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut. Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan gambaran tentang jumlah, komposisi dan sumber sampah laut yang nantinya dapat dijadikan referensi untuk mengatasi masalah sampah laut. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Pantai Kuala Batu, Desa Pulau Kayu Kabupaten Aceh Barat Daya. Metode pengumpulan sampel ditetapkan berdasarkan protokol penelitian oleh NOAA Marine Debris Shoreline Survey Field Guide (2012). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa jumlah sampah laut yang terkumpul selama penelitian adalah 232 item/1.200 m2 dan densitasnya 0.193 item/m 2. Sampah plastik merupakan jenis sampah laut dengan jumlah tertinggi yaitu 79% dan sumber sampah laut tertinggi di pantai ini berasal dari daratan (land-based sourced) melalui kegiatan rekreasi dan aktivitas pantai yaitu 79%.

Abstract

Mangrove rehabilitation is an activity to restore damaged mangrove ecosystems into an ecosystem that functions as it should. The mangrove rehabilitation program is an ongoing program consisting of site surveys, outreach to the community, planting of mangrove seedlings, and post-planting maintenance of mangrove seedlings. This community service was carried out on February 20, 2022 in Kuala Bubon Village, West Aceh Regency. This activity was attended by the academic community of the Aquatic Resources Study Program and the local community who live in Kuala Bubon Village. The implementation of community service aimed  to increase public and student awareness to preserve the mangrove ecosystem and restore degraded mangrove ecosystems through rehabilitation. The method used  is the counseling methode and live demonstration in the field. The mangrove rehabilitation program carried out by the academic community of the Aquatic Resources Study Program through the mangrove rehabilitation program has had an effect on increasing public and student awareness in an effort to preserve the mangrove ecosystem and restore the function of the damaged mangrove ecosystem through replanting mangrove seedlings and maintaining post-planting mangrove seedlings.

Abstract

Plastic waste is one type of waste that is not easily biodegradable and is not environmentally friendly. Plastic waste is still a major problem for the community that has not been resolved because of the low level of recycling and the lack of proper handling in the community and schools. The purpose of this activity is as an effort to overcome plastic waste in the Meulaboh State 6 Elementary School (SD) in West Aceh by providing education about ecobric practices and creating positive vibes for students to manage plastic waste into something useful. This educational activity is carried out in two stages, namely the preparation (search of information on the location of the activity implementation and coordination with partners) and the implementation stage (socialization and ecobric practices). The training for partners was carried out using lecture methods, interactive discussions and hands-on practice of making ecobricks with students at SD Negeri 6 Meulaboh, Aceh Barat. The output of this activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of elementary school students through ecobric practices to manage plastic waste around their environment into something useful in everyday life. The conclusion of this activity is that ecobric education is able to minimize the impact of plastic waste through creative, educational and sustainable management, as well as raise awareness of protecting the environment by generating positive vibes from an early age to students. Education and training on making ecobricks at SDN 6 Meulaboh was able to reduce plastic waste in the environment by 11.37 kg.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the association between social support and burden of care among parents of children with special needs. Data were collected using the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) to measure perceived social support and the Burden Scale for Family Caregivers (BSFC) to measure perceived burden of care. The analysis utilized the Pearson’s correlation technique. Results indicated significant association between social support and burden of care. This finding highlights the importance of support from family, friends, and significant others in the management of perceived burden of care among parents of children with special needs.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of application of different stocking densities in  budikdamber system on the survival rate and growth of silver catfish (Pangasius djambal). The non-factorial Complete Randomized Design (RAL) used in this study consisted of four treatments and three tests. The treatments studied were the application of a stocking density of 5 fishes/container (P1), 10 fishes/container (P2), 15 fishes/container (P3), and  20 fishes/container (P4). The silver catfish used in this study was 6-8 cm in size. The maintenance period of silver catfish in this study was in 40 days. The research parameters that measured in this study were survival rate, absolute weight growth, absolute length growth, specific growth rate and water quality. The results of analysis of variance (ANOVA) showed that different stocking densities on rearing media with the “Budikdamber” system had no significant effect for survival rate, absolute weight growth and specific growth rate of silver catfish (Pangasius djambal), but had a significant effect on absolute length of silver catfish (Pangasius djambal). The best stocking density to increase the absolute length growth of silver catfish is 15 fishes / container (P3) in number 7.36 cm.

Abstract

One of the freshwater fish that has an economical price and is endemic to the lake, Ie Sayang, is Rasbora sp. Generally, fish from farms are calmer and relatively less stressful in terms of transport. This research was conducted to determine the amount of different Total density on the survival rate of bileh fish (Rasbora sp.). This research is an experimental research with 4 trials and 3 repetitions. The experiments that were applied to this research were: P1 = number of fish 25 fish/l; P2 = number of fish 50 fish/l; P3 = number of fish 75 fish/l and P4 = number of fish 100 fish/l. The survival data of fish during further research was carried out by Anova analysis. The results of this research are that the highest average survival rate for bileh fish is P4 of 99.67% and average high ammonia value was obtained in experiment 4 of 2.87 ppm.

Abstract

Limbah sedimen tambak merupakan sisa pakan dan feses organisme air yang mengendap di dasar tambak selama proses budidaya berlangsung. Sedimen tersebut secara umum menjadi permasalahan besar dalam budidaya karena dapat mengeluarkan zat yang berbahaya bagi organisme air seperti amonia, nitrit/nitrat, dan lain-lain. Zat tersebut seyogyanya merupakan unsur hara yang sangat dibutuhkan oleh tanaman, sehingga dapat dimanfaatkan secara maksimal untuk tujuan tersebut. Pengomposan menggunakan limbah sedimen tambak sebagai bahan baku utama disertai limbah ampas tebu dan rumput basah telah dilakukan di Gampong Pasi Pinang, Meulaboh, Aceh Barat. Proses tersebut berlangsung melalui edukasi dan demonstrasi proses pengolahan pupuk kompos. Mayoritas peserta yang mengikuti memahami konsep dan pelaksanaannya dengan baik, sehingga dapat dilanjutkan secara berkesinambungan secara mandiri untuk mengelola limbah di sekitarnya.
