Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) powder application on artificial feed on feed quality and feed conversion ratio for bileh fish (Rasbora sp.) fry. This research was carried out from September to October 2022 at UPR Mina Mandiri Gampong Lhok Seumot, Beutong District, Nagan Raya Regency. This study used bile fish seeds measuring 2 - 2.25 cm in length as test fish. The experimental design used was a non-factorial, Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and three replications. The level of treatment applied in the feed formulation was control feed without fermented water hyacinth flour substitution (P0), 5% fermented hyacinth flour substitution in feed (P1), 10% fermented water hyacinth flour substitution in feed (P2), water hyacinth flour substitution fermented 15% in feed (P3). Feed is given at satiation three times a day. The test parameters observed were the quality of the feed produced and the feed conversion ratio of the seeds of bileh fish (Rasbora sp.). The results showed that applying water hyacinth flour (Eichhornia crassipes) on artificial feed gave the same response to the quality of the feed produced but had a significant effect on the feed conversion ratio for bileh fish. The lowest (best) feed conversion ratio was obtained in the P3 treatment. Keywords: feed quality; feed conversion ratio; hyacinth flour; Rasbora sp.

Abstract

Bileh fish is a type of freshwater fish that is sought after by the people of Aceh because it has a delicious taste and is quite tasty. Bileh fish is a local fish species that has the potential to be developed as an aquaculture commodity and its population must be preserved from overfishing. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of different feeding frequencies on the growth of bileh fish fry (Rasbora sp.). This research used a non-factorial completely randomized design (CRD) method consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications each, namely the frequency of feeding 1 time/day (P1), feeding 2 times/day (P2), feeding 3 times/day day (P3) and feeding 4 times/day (P4). The feed given is commercial feed PF 500 with 39% protein. The parameters observed included survival rate, length growth, weight growth, daily growth rate, feed efficiency and water quality. The results showed that different feeding frequencies had no significant effect on survival rate, absolute length and daily growth rate of bileh fish (Rasbora sp.). However, it has a real effect on weight growth and feed efficiency. The best feeding frequency to optimize the weight growth of bileh fish (Rasbora sp.) is in the P3 treatment with a frequency of 3 times/day.Keywords: Feed Efficiency; Feeding Frequency; Growth; Rasbora

Abstract

Abstract

Final semester students must complete their education on time with a variety of academic assignments. Apart from that, the personal problems they experience are also increasingly complex, making final-semester students vulnerable to depression. This research aims to determine the relationship between self-compassion and stress mediated by emotional regulation in students who complete their final assignments. The design used in this research was quantitative, with three variables. Data were collected using the Self-Compassion Scale with a Cronbach Alpha reliability of 0.872, the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ) with a Cronbach Alpha reliability of 0.790, and the stress subscale of the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS-42) with a Cronbach Alpha reliability of 0.951. The subjects of this research were final-year students who were pursuing higher education in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Data analysis used a mediation analysis model by testing the relationship between stress (dependent variable) and self-compassion (independent variable) and emotional regulation, cognitive reappraisal facets, and expressive suppression facets (mediator variables) using mediation analysis techniques via JASP. The results showed that the cognitive reappraisal facet of emotional regulation mediated the relationship between self-compassion and stress in students. The emotional regulation facet of expressive suppression did not mediate the relationship between self-compassion and stress in students. In addition, there was a direct negative relationship between self-compassion and stress. Students who complete their final assignment must make efforts to increase self-compassion in order to survive stressful situations.

Abstract

Abstract

Anesthesia is an activity commonly performed in aquaculture to reduce stress on fish seeds during transportation or for other routine handling. Sodium bicarbonate is an anesthetic agent that has been used in aquaculture on several types of fish, but has not been tested on gouramy (Osphronemus gouramy, Lac.). This study aims to determine the effect of using sodium bicarbonate in anesthesia of gouramy seeds. This study was an experimental study using a completely randomized design with four treatments and three replications for each treatment, namely treatment A (without adding sodium bicarbonate), B (5 g/L), C (10 g/L), D (15 g/L) and E (20 g/L). The results showed that sodium bicarbonate could be used as an anesthetic agent for gouramy seeds with the best dose in treatment E (20 g/L). In treatment E (20 g/L), the induction time for gouramy seeds was very sort, less than 3 minutes. Fast induction time could prevent stress on the fish due to anesthesia.
