Abstract

Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation Plus (REDD+)  in Meru Betiri National Park (MBNP) East Java – Indonesia, is considered an essential collaborative program between the Indonesian government, International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO), and surrounding local communities to mitigate climate change and global warming. In its implementation, community participation plays a significant role because they are impacted directly by REDD+, as stated in the Cancun Agreement and Anchorage Declaration of Indigenous Peoples on Climate Change. Therefore, this research focuses on the participation level and how it contributes to the program. This research used the community participation theory from Choguill and benefited from using mixed methods with a single case strategy. Data were gathered through a questionnaire, a semi-structured interview, and a literature study. The results uncovered that the participation level reached conciliation with the least support of three rungs as a degree of participation. At this stage, the local community and government started to realize their interests by supporting each other. Even so, the government had control in enforcing the decision-making process that involved the community in REDD+. In the end, government and stakeholders at the local and national scales should accelerate community participation through law enforcement and full community involvement in implementing REDD+.

Abstract

Literasi lingkungan merupakan salah satu literasi yang masih jarang disentuh oleh kebanyakan orang. Hal ini disebabkan literasi lingkungan masih dianggap ke dalam low-politcs yang artinya kurang menjadi prioritas untuk dilakukan. Anggapan ini menjadi simplifikasi terhadap isu lingkungan yang terjadi saat ini. Perhatian terhadap alam dan lingkungan juga menjadi perhatian Universitas Telkom yang berhasil masuk ke dalam pemeringkatan nasional 10 besar Kampus Hijau versi Universitas Indonesia. Berdasarkan alasan ini, kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat melalui lokakarya literasi lingkungan, konten digital, dan cek fakta kepada komunitas pemuda penting dilakukan. Lokakarya ini diberikan kepada 25 peserta perwakilan komunitas pemuda Ikatan Duta Bahasa Jawa Barat yang dilakukan di Bandung selama 6 jam yang terdiri dari teori, praktik, dan diskusi dengan materi literasi lingkungan yang telah ditentukan, kemudian dilanjutkan 3 hari supervisi pembuatan konten digital berupa poster, fotografi, maupun tulisan di media sosial seperti Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, dan blog pribadi.

Abstract

Majelis Luhur Kepercayaan Terhadap Tuhan Yang Maha Esa merupakan wadah tunggal bagi penghayat kepercayaan dan Masyarakat Adat di Indonesia. Pada 2021 terdapat sekitar 178 Organisasi Kepercayaan dan Masyarakat Adat yang terdata secara resmi oleh pemerintah. Namun begitu, konstruksi media yang mengasosiasikan mistik dan klenik dengan atribut yang seringkali digunakan oleh masyarakat kepercayaan seperti pakaian adat, sesajen, ritual dan lainnya yang menjelma sebagai stigma di masyarakat. ‘Sapa Penghayat’ kemudian menjadi salah satu program siniar yang digagas sebagai kanal diskusi ringan terkait Apa, Siapa, Mengapa Bagaimana kegiatan dan ajarannya. Siniar ini diharapkan menjadi sumber data, informasi, dan konfirmasi resmi terkait kesimpangsiuran yang beredar di masyarakat. Tim pengabdian masyarakat Prodi Ilmu Komunikasi Telkom University membantu mempertajam konsep “Sapa Penghayat” dan pembuatan teknis serta realisasi pembuatan bumper. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei – September 2021 melalui via Zoom dengan sistem rekaman, untuk kemudian dilakukan penyuntingan dan tayang pada tanggal yang ditentukan

Abstract

In the digital era people are constantly looking for information and how their needs of information can be fulfilled. The digital era provides various conveniences for its users, such as social media which allows individuals to communicate in ways that were previously unimaginable. This research was aimed to find out how big is the influence of using Clubhouse Application on fulfilling information needs of movies towards Clubhouse Indonesia Community. This research used 4C Components by Chris Heuer and four categories of predicted information needs by Guha. This research uses quantitative method by distributing questionnaires to 100 respondents through online media determined through nonprobability sampling. The population in this study is the member of Clubhouse Indonesia community. The analytical technique used in this research are descriptive analysis and simple linear regression analysis. The member of Clubhouse Indonesia community was the researcher’s sample for this study. The results of this study shows that the Clubhouse Application (X) has a positive and significant effect on the Information Needs (Y). Based on the results of the coefficient of determination, the results obtained that Yulia's Youtube channel Baltschun contributed 51.2% to the film's information needs, and the remaining 48.8% is the contribution of the influence of other variables not examined in this study. Abstract

Abstrak Masih banyak masyarakat yang kurang peduli lingkungan, khususnya tentang masalah sampah. Masyarakat masih menganggap bahwa sampah hanyalah barang yang sudah selayaknya dibuang, tak jarang masyarakat membuang sampah sembarangan, membakar sampah dan juga menimbun sampah. Untuk itu Bank Sampah Tri Guyub Rukun Purworejo hadir untuk mengatasi masalah sampah tersebut, yakni dengan mengelola dan memilah sampah dengan benar. Komunikasi lingkungan digunakan sebagai komunikasi partisipatif dan dialogis yang dibutuhkan oleh para pengurus untuk melakukan sosialisasi pengelolaan sampah kepada masyarakat, bank sampah merupakan salah satu sarana komunikasi lingkungan tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan acuan lima macam konsep interaksi simbolik menurut Herbert Blumer tahun 1969 dalam buku Symbolic Interactionism : Perspective and Method yaitu mengenai konsep diri, konsep objek, konsep perbuatan, konsep interaksi sosial, dan konsep tindakan bersama. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan paradigma konstruktivisme. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh yakni alasan pendiri Bank Sampah Tri Guyub Rukun mendirikan bank sampah sesuai dengan dua fungsi komunikasi lingkungan pragmatis dan konstitutif.

Abstract

Nowadays new media is widely used not only for entertainment purposes, but also to raise public awareness about major environmental issues which is critical for presenting topics like climate change, global warming, and deforestation, as well as encouraging public debate and information exchange. This research aims to seek the utilization of new media in environmental communication. Environmental communication extends beyond campaign-related activities which also affects how people see themselves and the natural world around them. This research uses CIFOR (The Center for International Forestry Research) as a study case because it is recognized as an internationally non-profit scientific organization that carries out research on the most important issues in global forest and landscape management. This research benefits from Ecological Model of the Communication Process which employs qualitative research method with single instrumental case study approach. Data is gathered through direct observation, semi-structured interviews, and extensive literary study. The result demonstrates that CIFOR has been developing multiple digital channels including podcasts, videos, datasets, presentations, and datasets. This is in accordance with the Ecological Model of the Communication Process to communicate their findings. Additionally, it has been found that new media in CIFOR combines and blurs the lines between interpersonal communication and mass media communication.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine how much influence Celebrity endorser Fadil Jaidi has on Traffic Bun Brand Awareness. The population used in this study is Fadil Jaidi's Instagram followers, and uses quantitative methods with 400 respondents who participated in filling out questionnaires through online media selected through probability sampling. The analysis techniques used are simple linear analysis and descriptive analysis. The results of this study first show that the relationship between celebrity endorsers and brand awareness has a positive effect. Second, Fadil Jaidi, as a celebrity endorser, has a 45.8% effect on brand awareness of Traffic Bun products. Meanwhile, 54.2% of the other influence is influenced by other factors that were not examined by the researcher.

Abstract

Travel has evolved from mere tourism to mass tourism, focusing on leisure and recreational experiences. Nature-based tourism has become popular. Indonesia ranks 32 out of 117 in the Travel and Tourism Development Index, but limited accommodation options hinder its growth. The Ministry of Tourism plans to introduce campervans in 2022 to improve tourism quality. Therefore, research titled "Campervans Community Lifestyle in Bandung: A Case Study in Environmental Communication" is made, aiming to know the lifestyle of campervans community in Bandung as a case study in environmental communication. The research explores the campervan lifestyle in Bandung, a unique mode of transportation with various options for short-term and long-term travel. Despite its origins outside Indonesia, the lifestyle benefits society, and its adopters. However, the government in Bandung does not fully acknowledge or encourage it, leading to a demand for expedited permits and improved amenities

Abstract

In the digital era, companies are faced with the complexity of conveying corporate messages effectively. Digital communication, especially through video media, is a crucial strategy. This research analyzes the role of digital communication through a case study of PT Petrokimia Gresik's Eid 1444 H video. Analyze the effectiveness of the use of digital communications and its impact on audience perception and engagement. This research aims to provide an understanding of the significance of digital communication in disseminating corporate messages and strengthening audience engagement in the digital era. The conclusion shows that the production of corporate messages through creative videos opens up new opportunities for corporate interactions with audiences via social media, despite facing budget and time challenges.
