Abstract

Saving is a wise and strategic step that reflects a person's commitment to financial prosperity and security in the future. In the midst of the dynamics of modern life, saving is not just a habit, but a smart decision that will have a long-term positive impact. Let's explore why saving is so important in laying the foundation for a more stable future. The location of service is at the Semarang College of Economics. The aim of this activity is to provide students with an understanding of the importance of saving, explain the basic concepts and benefits of investing in the capital market and provide practical information about how to start investing in the capital market. The method applied in this activity is to present the material and then make a presentation to the training participants. The service team designs material that can be understood by students. The material is presented clearly and responsively to ensure good understanding. Participants are given the opportunity to discuss and ask questions about the topic of saving and investing in the capital market, thereby ensuring that the information provided can really be applied in everyday life. The service team provides supporting materials in the form of brochures, booklets or small books which can be used as references for participants after the activity ends. The output resulted in an increase in understanding from 11% to 99%. Participants' ability to empower themselves and manage financial literacy optimally is increasing with the knowledge provided in socialization activities.

Abstract

The growth of the home industry producing organic fertilizer in Kopeng Village is starting to grow. The large number of organic fertilizer businesses emerging has increasingly added to the competition in Kopeng Village. Home industry players must also be able to maintain the characteristics and quality so that they can produce quality and attractive organic fertilizer. However, in the midst of the development of the organic fertilizer home industry, various obstacles are often faced by home industry players, namely capital problems and poor financial management, making it difficult for business people to obtain credit/capital from banks. Realizing this, the PKM Team carried out service with the aim of providing knowledge and helping manage finances for home industry business actors as a result of the fairly high competition in the business world. In this service, PKM participants are given training in determining selling prices, making purchase and sales reports, as well as helping to calculate the desired profit and conducting training in preparing simple financial reports. The methods used in this service activity are observation, presentation of material and training practices regarding good financial management. The target audience for this service activity is home industry business actors in Kopeng Village and who are members of the Memayu Jogo Tonggo Kopeng cooperative, totaling 10 organic fertilizer home industry businesses. From the pre-test results, only 20% of participants had knowledge about financial management, while the other 80% of participants had no knowledge at all about financial management. Likewise with knowledge of financial reports and knowledge of general journals. From the post test results, it shows an increase in the participants' abilities and knowledge. The most significant increase was knowledge about financial management which provided an increase of up to 100% because the material provider succeeded in providing exposure and practicum in preparing simple financial reports directly for home industry business actors producing organic fertilizer.

Abstract

Innovation has so far been studied mainly in high-tech companies, but MSMEs are no less able to innovate in their businesses. MSMEs carry out innovations, especially those related to the market, such as meeting customer demands or competing with competitors. Their biggest challenge in innovating is selling variations that are easy to imitate because competitors are very quick to imitate. However, MSMEs must remain focused on innovation, one way is by collaborating to improve their business. At the community service held on Thursday 2 May 2024, together with several universities both from within and outside the country, we lecturers provided knowledge on how MSMEs can improve their businesses through collaboration. The MSMEs who attended were also able to share what obstacles they had faced so far. In the future, it is hoped that this service to the community will continue and be sustainable. Abstrak Inovasi selama ini telah banyak dipelajari terutama di perusahaan-perusahaan teknologi tinggi, namun Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) juga tidak kalah mampu untuk berinovasi dalam bisnis mereka. UMKM melakukan inovasi, terutama yang berkaitan dengan pasar, seperti memenuhi permintaan pelanggan atau bersaing dengan kompetitor. Tantangan terbesar mereka dalam berinovasi adalah menjual variasi yang mudah ditiru karena kompetitor sangat cepat menirunya. Namun, UMKM harus tetap fokus pada inovasi, salah satu cara adalah dengan berkolaborasi untuk meningkatkan bisnis mereka. Pada kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang dilaksanakan pada hari Kamis, 2 Mei 2024, bersama dengan beberapa universitas baik dari dalam maupun luar negeri, kami para dosen memberikan pengetahuan tentang bagaimana UMKM dapat meningkatkan bisnis mereka melalui kolaborasi. UMKM yang hadir juga dapat berbagi kendala yang mereka hadapi sejauh ini. Di masa depan, diharapkan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dapat berlanjut dan berkelanjutan. Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the soft skills capacity of the Ibu-Ibu Mekar community in Semarang City to face the demands of the Society 5.0 era. The program was implemented through four stages: needs assessment, participatory planning, training, and mentoring. The methods used included interactive lectures, group discussions, role-play, and contextual practice. The results of the activity showed significant improvements in participants' communication, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. In addition, several participants began to demonstrate informal leadership roles and greater involvement in community activities. These findings indicate that the experience-based participatory mentoring approach is effective in strengthening women's empowerment and preparing communities for socio-technological change. The program also helped participants develop adaptability to change, increased self-confidence, and facilitated the formation of broader social networks in their communities. Empowering women through soft skills development is expected to create a more resilient community in facing the challenges posed by digital transformation in the Society 5.0 era. This program emphasizes the importance of sustainable soft skills development as a foundation for community resilience in the Society 5.0 era.

Abstract

Earnings management is a management effort to influence reported earnings. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of dividend policy, leverage and profitability on earnings management in food and beverage subsector companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange in 2021-2023. The population in this study were all food and beverage sub-sector companies Listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange totalling 95. The sample in this study used purposive sampling so that 29 companies were obtained. The dependent variable in this study is earnings management, and the independent variables are dividend policy (XI), Leverage (X2) and Profitability (X3). The analysis method uses multiple linear regression analysis. Based on the results of the data analysis, it was concluded that dividend policy had no effect on earnings management with a significance value of 0.6885 0.05. Leverage affects earnings management with a significance value of 0.000 «0.05. Profitability affects earnings management with a significance value of 0.020 C0.05. The coefficient of determination value is 40.356. Suggestions that can be given to investors to pay attention to the leverage and profitability ratios because they affect profit management in the company, so that investment will be more profitable. For further researchers to take samples in other sectors so that results are obtained that better describe the condition of the company as a whole.

Abstract

Village financial management is something that really needs to be considered in its implementation. Bomerto Village still requires management of village funds so that they can be utilized as optimally as possible for the progress of the village. The aim of implementing this community service is to provide adequate knowledge and training to village officials in Bomerto village, Wonosobo Regency regarding the management and financial reporting of village funds properly, transparently, accountably, participatively, orderly and disciplined, as well as community service. to the community, this is useful in early prevention of potential misappropriation of village funds so that village fund managers can avoid legal problems in the future. The method for implementing activities uses the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) method with planning stages, namely socialization of activity implementation, counseling on the village fund management system and training in making village financial budgets. From these mentoring activities, good knowledge aspects related to the Definition of Village Fund Management, Government Financial Standards, Village Financial Reporting, Village Financial Accountability, and Transparency have increased significantly in value. Knowledge aspect from 30% to 75%. The increase in scores on the knowledge aspect after village fund management activities shows that these activities are effective in increasing the understanding and ability of village officials in managing village funds.

Abstract

The selection of an optimal capital structure is expected to minimize capital costs and maximize firm value. However, in practice, this decision is influenced by various internal company characteristics and dynamic external conditions. This study aims to examine the effect of company size, sales growth, and cash flow on capital structure. This study was conducted on property companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2021, 2022, and 2023. Data analysis used SPSS with classical assumption testing, multiple regression analysis, t-tests and F-tests, and coefficients of determination. The results of this study indicate that company size has a positive and significant effect on capital structure, sales growth has a positive but insignificant effect, and cash flow has a negative but significant effect on capital structure. The managerial implications of this study are that property companies can utilize external funds by increasing their capital structure by using assets as collateral. In situations of limited operating cash flow, companies should increase external funding. This will increase opportunities for property company operational development..     Optimalisasi struktur modal diharapkan mampu menurunkan biaya modal, namun dalam implementasinya keputusan ini dipengaruhi oleh berbagai karakteristik internal perusahaan dan kondisi eksternal yang dinamis. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk meneliti pengaruh ukuran Perusahaan (x1), pertumbuhan penjualan (x2) dan arus kas (x3) terhadap struktur modal (Y). Penelitian ini dilakukan pada Perusahaan properti di BEI pada periode 2021, 2022, 2023. Analisis data menggunakan SPSS dengan pengujian asumsi klasik, analisis regresi berganda, uji t dan uji F, serta koefisien determinasi. Hasl penelitian ini menunjukkan ukuran perusahaan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap struktur modal, pertumbuhan penjualan berpengaruh positif dan tidak signifikan, arus kas  berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap struktur modal. Implikasi manajerial dari hasil penelitian ini bahwa perusahaan properti dapat memanfaatkan dana eksternal melalui peningkatan struktur modal dengan menggunakan asset sebagai jaminannya. Dan dalam situasi kas operasi yang kecil sebaiknya perusahaan menaikkan pendanaan eksternal. Hal ini akan memperbesar kesempatan pengembangan operasional perusahaan properti.
