Abstract

This study analyses the influence of the Korean wave, or hallyu, on the potential erosion of local culture among Indonesia’s Gen Z, as well as how they can harmonize local values with the principles of Islamic philosophy. The Korean wave phenomenon is growing rapidly along with advances in technology and social media, which strengthens Gen Z’s interaction with foreign cultures. This phenomenon has not only affected many young generations in various countries, including Gen Z in Indonesia. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach to examine the influence of the Korean wave on Gen Z cultural values ​​within the framework of Islamic philosophy. The data in this study were obtained through several data collection techniques, including structured interviews and direct observations conducted in various Korean wave fan communities to observe behavioral patterns, social interactions, and how the influence of Korean culture is reflected in the daily lives of Gen Z, and data analysis was conducted using an interpretative approach. This study shows the positive impacts of the Korean wave or hallyu, such as increased interest in learning foreign languages, enhanced creativity, and greater appreciation for the arts. However, there is a risk of diminishing local cultural identity. Therefore, Gen Z must balance the acceptance of foreign cultures with the preservation of local traditions through a lifestyle grounded in Islamic values. According to Ibn Miskawayh, the development of moral character and self-control is essential in filtering external cultural influences. This approach enables young people to remain open to globalization while maintaining their cultural and spiritual identity.

Abstract

This article discusses the condition of pesantren in Pantura (the northern coast area of Java) during the pandemic of Covid-19. This phenomenon of the Covid-19 outbreak is worrying because pesantren is a collaborative community that carries out activities without fulfilling social distancing. How the pesantren community negotiates themselves amid the Covid-19 pandemic, and how it reflects and adapts each activity. This study aims to reveal the pattern and response of the religious community of pesantren related to activities during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research was field research that used a model to obtain data by observing pesantren and analyzedwith three theories, namely Glok and Stark on religiosity and Max Weber for social action and Talcott Parsons' theory of adaptation. During the Covid-19, pesantren can negotiate conditions amid a pandemic by reflecting on maintaining and preserving the tradition of prayer and a form of adaptation to spirituality and morality while still adhering to health regulations.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji bagaimana penerapan dakwah yang dilakukan oleh lembaga komunitas kampus di IAIN Kudus. dengan menggunakan pendekatan struktural fungsional Emile Dukheim dalam melihat tujuan Tindakan yang dilakukan suatu kelompok atau komunitas. Tindakan yang dilakukan oleh suatu komunitas terhadap lingkungan dan masyarakat sekitar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif desktriptif. Penulis mengumpulkan data melalui wawancara tidak terstruktur dengan para informan, observasi non partispatif terhadap kegiatan dakwah yang dilaksankan Lembaga Dakwah Kampus, dan sumber-sumber dokumentasi yang relevan dengan kajian penelitia.  Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa suatu organisasi nonstruktural yang bergerak di kalangan mahasiswa IAIN Kudus dan kalangan masyarakat sebagai pengabdian dalam bidang dakwah sebagai instrumen mewujudkan risalah Islam 'Rahmatullah lil alamin'. Guna menguatkan nilai akidah masyarakat kampus, lembaga dakwah kampus (LDK) menggerakkan beragam kegiatan seperti pesantren kilat, sekolah dakwah, dan pembacaan Al banzanji, dimana kegiatan tersebut diadakan secara rutin sesuai jadwal yang sudah dirancang oleh anggota lembaga dakwah kampus (LDK). Serta terdapat metode- metode yang diterapkan oleh komunitas tersebut agar tujuan dakwah dapat tercapai sesuai sasaran dakwah. This article aims to examine how the application of da'wah carried out by campus community institutions at IAIN Kudus. by using Emile Dukheim's functional structural approach in seeing the purpose of the actions taken by a group or community. Actions taken by a community towards the environment and the surrounding community. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The author collects data through unstructured interviews with informants, non-participatory observation of da'wah activities carried out by the Campus Da'wah Institute, and documentary sources relevant to the research study.  This study found that a nonstructural organization that operates among students of IAIN Kudus and the community as a service in the field of da'wah as an instrument to realize the Islamic treatise 'Rahmatullah lil alamin'. In order to strengthen the value of the creed of the campus community, campus da'wah institutions (LDK) mobilize a variety of activities such as flash pesantren, da'wah schools, and reading Al banzanji, where these activities are held regularly according to a schedule that has been designed by members of campus da'wah institutions (LDK). And there are methods applied by the community so that the purpose of da'wah can be achieved according to the target of da'wah.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis strategi humas dalam membangun citra Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Kudus sebagai kampus berbasis ilmu Islam terapan, serta mengidentifikasi hambatan dan tantangannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan melalui reduksi, penyajian, dan verifikasi, sedangkan validitas data diuji dengan triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi humas IAIN Kudus meliputi: optimalisasi pengelolaan website; publikasi event kampus; kegiatan Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) dengan keterlibatan langsung di masyarakat; kerjasama dengan media massa lokal; penguatan identitas korporat; publikasi di media sosial seperti Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, dan Facebook, serta surat kabar; komunikasi persuasif dengan calon mahasiswa baru; dan branding ke Madrasah Aliyah, Sekolah Menengah Atas, serta Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan. Hambatan meliputi keterbatasan personel humas (internal) dan rendahnya kesadaran mahasiswa dalam menyebarkan informasi kampus serta penyesuaian konten untuk generasi Z (eksternal). Penelitian ini berkontribusi dalam menyediakan panduan strategis bagi perguruan tinggi Islam untuk mengembangkan citra institusi secara efektif melalui penguatan komunikasi strategis dan kolaborasi, khususnya di era digital. This article aims to describe and analyze the public relations strategy in building the image of the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Kudus as a campus based on applied Islamic science, as well as identifying obstacles and challenges. This research uses a qualitative approach with data collection methods in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through reduction, presentation, and verification, while data validity was tested by triangulation. The results showed that IAIN Kudus's public relations strategies include: optimizing website management; publication of campus events; Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities with direct involvement in the community; cooperation with local mass media; strengthening corporate identity; publication on social media such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook, as well as newspapers; persuasive communication with prospective new students; and branding to Madrasah Aliyah, Senior High Schools, and Vocational High Schools. Obstacles include limited public relations personnel (internal) and low student awareness in disseminating campus information and adjusting content for generation Z (external). This research contributes to providing strategic guidance for Islamic universities to effectively develop institutional image through strengthening strategic communication and collaboration, especially in the digital era.

Abstract

Islamic teachings emphasize equality, piety, and social solidarity, values that are manifested in various Indonesian Muslim rituals, including the fidaan tradition. This study examines fidaan in Undaan Kudus not only as a spiritual ritual for the deceased but also as a social practice embedded with power relations and symbolic meanings. Using a qualitative descriptive-analytical approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with religious leaders and community members. Drawing on Clifford Geertz’s symbolic interpretation and Anthony Giddens’ structuration theory, the study reveals that fidaan functions as a system of symbols that mediates between worldview and ethos while simultaneously reproducing social hierarchy through religious authority and material resources. Although perceived as voluntary and adaptable, fidaan implicitly reinforces stratification and symbolic recognition within the community. This research contributes to the understanding of local Islamic rituals as arenas where spirituality, social identity, and domination intersect in everyday religious life.

Abstract

This article aims to determine the role of the Bodo Contong tradition as a social capital of harmony among religious communities in the multireligious community of Rahtawu Village. How does the community implement, interpret, and how the Bodo Contong tradition acts as social capital in the village of Rahtawu. This study uses a qualitative approach with interview methods conducted in the Rahtawu Village community. The results show that: First, the Bodo Contong tradition is one form of the realization of a balanced social system in a society that has religious differences. Second, the Bodo Contong tradition is a form of gratitude to God Almighty, as well as a tribute to the community towards the ancestors. Third, in the implementation of the Bodo Contong tradition, the values of capital are social trust, social norms and social networks that enable the community to carry out the Bodo Contong tradition together without blaming religious differences. Through the values of existing social capital, the people of Rahtawu Village can work together, respect and respect one another and can maintain harmony between religious communities.

Abstract

Artikel ini melihat bagaimana pendekatan materialisme historisKarl Marx, berdasar pada dalil bahwa produksi dan distribusibarang-barang serta jasa merupakan dasar untuk membantumanusia dalam mengembangkan eksistensinya. Menurutnya,bahwa proses kehidupan manusia dari dua faktor yang memilikihubungan sejarah, jaitu faktor ekonomi sebagai basis dan masalahkesadaran manusia yang berwujud dalam ilmu, fisafat, ideologidan agama sebagai suprastruktur. Marx berprinsip bahwa basisekonomi itulah yang menentukan suprastruktur masyarakat.Marx mengungkapkan bahwa perubahan sejarah terjadi denganpertentangan kelas-kelas sosial. Kelas menurut Marx ada duayaitu kelas borjuis yaitu kelas pemilik modal dan kelas proletaryang lebih dikenal sebagai kelas buruh. Jadi kelas-kelas sosialtersebut merupakan perubahan sejarah dan yang menentukanjalan sejarah bukan individu-individu. Adanya dua kelas tersebutakan mengakibatkan pertentangan pada revolusi kelas. Berkaitandengan agama, Marx menyampaikan bahwa agama adalah canduyaitu semakin orang itu mengabdikan diri pada agamanya, makadia akan kehilangan dirinya sendiri. Bagi Marx manusia yangmembuat agama, bukan agama yang membuat manusia.

Abstract

This paper aims to study and prove how the religious behavior of coastal Lamongan people in a dynamic society in search of a religious model that can provide worldly happiness and ukhrowi, using Max Weber's theoretical approach in looking at the purpose of actions taken by someone with diverse motives. Religious behavior is certainly inseparable from factors from within a person or from outside, including figures who become role models of society. Therefore, there will be a variety of religions, ranging from exclusive and inclusive. This research found that two religious organizations -Muhammadiyah and NU- which have been considered well established in The Lamongan Coast, apparently experienced changes in gaining trust related to solving the problem of immorality. Therefore, coastal communities that tend to be dynamic, try to find self-satisfaction by learning to draw closer to their Lord (Allah), by following the religious activities of new groups outside Muhammadiyah and NU. The intersubjective religious model implemented by this new group was able to open up and be accepted among the people of Lamongan Coast.
