Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE) has a significant impact on people’s lives. Few studies have been conducted on young parents with ACE in Indonesia, of which indicated that parenting stress is more common in young parents with ACE.The gap between resources, expectations, and negative mental judgment in response to differences lead to parental stress. The purpose of this research is to explore parenting experiences among young adults with ACE, specifically understanding how they cope with stress. This qualitative study adopted a snowball sampling (Yin, 2016) to identify six participants who are currently a parent with ACE. This research employed a phenomenological qualitative design (Yin, 2016). In-depth interviews are the primary data collection and data was analysed with a thematic analysis. The result indicated that ACE has a significant influence on current parenting stress experiences. Religiosity was found to have an essential role in coping with parenting stress. Cultural standard is a significant characteristic of a nation’s culture, impacting an individual’s thought patterns, emotions, and behavior. Religiosity is an appreciation of a specific religion that helps overcome parenting stress. The ability to overcome this situation, find personal growth, and appreciate life and spiritual changes is called post-traumatic growth.

This research discusses identity politics through prejudice and stereotype toward the 2024 presidential election. Identity politics refers to the way politics works in determining and classifying identities. In its development, especially in the last few elections, identity politics is full of harmful content that divides various elements of society. This study aims to analyze the media framing raised in three perspectives of online media, namely, Mediaindonesia.com, Detik.com, and Kompas.com. This study used a qualitative method using Pan & Kosicki’s framing theory. The study results show that Mediaindonesia.com's news content aims to provide normative justification while safeguarding the integrity of the NasDem party as a "movement for change." It is achieved by countering any negative and intolerant stigmas associated with identity politics issues related to the party's endorsed presidential candidate. In contrast, Detik.com is more direct in identifying social polarization categories about identity politics, highlighting the disparities between opposing views through carefully selected source quotes and rhetorical devices. Meanwhile, Kompas.com tends to take a more neutral stance, prioritizing the electability of candidates and navigating the balance between tolerance and intolerance. Framing analysis allows readers to maintain a critical perspective and comprehend how the media presents an issue in order to accomplish specific goals.

Spirituality is a contentious human phenomenon that encompasses personal, sociocultural, and transcendent interconnection. In Indonesian society, spiritual experiences are often associated with religion. They are also part of the cultural standards, the way of thinking, feeling, and behaving shared by most of a culture's members. This research aims to examine the spiritual and cultural values of Belitung's Muslim society through the Sang Pemimpi film. The research method in this study was critical discourse analysis, a qualitative approach based on a critical paradigm. This study combines Theo van Leeuwen's critical and multimodality discourse analysis techniques. Spiritual values and cultural standards are used as theoretical elements. The character in the film's text with the background of the Muslim society and the Belitung people's culture is the focus of this study. According to the film analysis, spirituality is formed by socio-cultural interactions in people's daily lives. The Muslim community in Belitung adapts well to religious and cultural differences in their social relationships with other ethnic groups, including the Chinese ethnic groups. According to the findings of this study, religiosity and communal domains are the aspects that appear the most in the film.

Background: The influence of technology and media on teachers’ beliefs and self-concepts is substantial. The social identity theory explains how an individual’s perception of themselves as a group member influences their social identity. Purpose: This study aims to examine the analysis of vernacular discourse in public service announcements (PSA) from two perspectives: cultural syncretism and pastiche. Methods: The methodology utilized in this study is vernacular discourse analysis with a critical paradigm-based qualitative approach. The objects of this study were two PSA videos of the Ministry of Education (MOE) Singapore. Results: The vernacular discourse analysis reveals that cultural and social contexts influence teachers’ rhetoric, with sociocultural and linguistic conditions reinforcing educational hegemony in the PSA videos of Singapore. Conclusion: MOE’s PSA videos shape teachers’ social identity by employing persuasive strategies to promote teachers’ roles and self-concepts based on the belief that student and societal success begins with the teacher. Implications: Theoretically, this study implies that media can shape teachers’ social identities. The practical implications of this study are using PSA videos to align the role and self-concept of Indonesian teachers, demonstrating how the noble but less prestigious teaching profession shapes the next generation. Additionally, media can be utilized to enhance the quality of education in Indonesia.

The song “Saat Kau Telah Mengerti” (lit. “When You Have Understood”), recorded by Virgoun, was streamed over a million times on YouTube when it was released in January last year and has been circulated in various edited versions on various online platforms. The lyrics present messages of hopes and wishes from parents to their children, thus touching the hearts of its listeners. Through the song's music, lyrics, and video clips, the objective of this research is to interpret and explore the meaning of parents' communication with their children. This study focuses its research question on elements utilized in the lyrics, music, and video clips of the song. This research analysis uses a qualitative approach with an interpretative paradigm based on Louis Hjelmslev's semiotic method and the validity test, which will be achieved through triangulation. Through Hjelmslev's semiotic research on forms and substance of expression and content, this research found that a communication gap exists between parents and their children. The gap stems from the generational differences between fathers and daughters, which this song seeks to bridge by encouraging the child to empathize with the parents. The actions of parents who strive for their children's benefit can occasionally be misinterpreted by their children as something negative. Based on the results, the study recommends music as an effective tool for conveying messages to mitigate parent-child communication gap
