Abstract

The beauty industry in Indonesia is growing rapidly as public awareness of appearance increases, encouraging Wardah to innovate and build a strong brand image as a pioneer of halal cosmetics. This success is highly dependent on customer satisfaction as the link between product excellence and customer loyalty. This study uses a quantitative method with primary data from questionnaires and secondary data from relevant literature. The sample, consisting of at least 163 respondents, was purposively selected from the community of Semarang City who use at least three Wardah brand cosmetic and skincare products. Data analysis was performed using Partial Least Square (PLS) with SmartPLS software, including instrument validity and reliability tests, outer model, inner model through R square, hypothesis and mediation tests based on p-value with a significance level of 0.05. Based on the results of the direct effect analysis, it was found that product differentiation, brand image, and product innovation had a significant positive effect on customer satisfaction. In addition, customer satisfaction, product differentiation, and brand image were also found to have a significant positive effect on customer loyalty. However, product innovation did not have a significant effect on customer loyalty. Meanwhile, the results of the indirect effect analysis showed that customer satisfaction can mediate the effect of product differentiation, brand image, and product innovation on customer loyalty.

Abstract

Abstract

Purpose: This study analyzes the influence of the five SERVQUAL dimensions (tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy) on customer satisfaction and its subsequent effect on customer loyalty at Rainbow Gym in Semarang, Indonesia. The research is motivated by a significant 37.65% decline in gym membership and negative customer feedback concerning interpersonal service quality. Methodology: A quantitative approach was employed using purposive sampling to gather data from 140 respondents. Data were collected via structured questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with Partial Least Squares (PLS) via SmartPLS 4. Results: The analysis shows that all five SERVQUAL dimensions have a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction, with assurance and empathy being the most influential. Furthermore, customer satisfaction significantly drives loyalty. Findings: The study underscores the dominant role of interpersonal service quality especially assurance and empathy in enhancing satisfaction and fostering loyalty in a gym setting. Originality: This research uniquely explores the application of SERVQUAL in the fitness industry using a PLS-SEM approach, which is still rarely used in this context. Novelty: The study contributes new insights into how interpersonal service dimensions impact loyalty through satisfaction, specifically in the context of weight-training gyms in Indonesia. Conclusions: Rainbow Gym and similar businesses should prioritize enhancing interpersonal service quality through staff training and consistent service delivery to retain members and foster long-term loyalty. Type of Paper:  Quantitative research paper.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the culinary sector contribute significantly to the Indonesian economy, but still face obstacles in human resource management, particularly in terms of work scheduling and the absence of written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This community service activity focuses on optimizing HR management at Pak Memed's Fried Chicken MSME through the implementation of a structured shift work scheduling system and the development of systematic operational SOPs. The implementation method uses the Waterfall model, which includes Planning, Modeling, Implementation, Testing, and Evaluation. This approach allows the management system implementation process to run in a gradual, measurable, and participatory manner with partners. The results of the activity show an increase in employee understanding and ability to implement work schedules and SOPs, which has an impact on increasing operational efficiency, work discipline, and reducing turnover rates. In addition, the implementation of this management system strengthens the internal work structure, facilitates task distribution, and maintains consistent service quality. Recommendations for development include conducting regular evaluations and advanced training to ensure the continued implementation of SOPs and work systems. Overall, this activity has made a real contribution to the application of science and technology in improving the management of culinary MSME human resources, enabling businesses to develop more efficiently, productively, and competitively

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and test the mediating role of job satisfaction in the relationship between career development and job stress on employee loyalty at BPR Agung Sejahtera. This study used a quantitative methodology to collect primary data from 90 employees of BPR Agung Sejahtera through questionnaires. Partial Least Squares (PLS) with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used to test the relationship between latent variables. Data testing included validity, reliability, bootstrapping , Adjusted R-Square, Path Coefficient, and Specific Indirect Effects . The results showed that career development had a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction. Conversely, job stress was found to have a negative and significant effect on job satisfaction. Career development also had a positive and significant effect on employee loyalty. Job stress had a negative and significant effect on employee loyalty. Job satisfaction had a positive and significant effect on employee loyalty. However, the mediating role of job satisfaction in the relationship between career development and job stress on employee loyalty proved to be insignificant. This finding indicates that employee loyalty is more influenced by good career development and low levels of job stress than the mediating role of job satisfaction. Overall, these findings conclude that managing career development and work stress through job satisfaction is crucial for increasing employee loyalty. It is hoped that these research findings will help BPR Agung Sejahtera's management better manage its human resources to achieve the company's goals.

This study uses secondary data sourced from UN COMTRADE for the period of 2013 – 2018. The data is categorized using a 2-digit Harmonized System (HS) classification. This study uses Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) and Export Product Dynamics (EPD) analysis tools. The RCA estimation results show the export competitiveness of Indonesia’s agricultural, industrial, and mining products is still weak and strong in several major export destination countries. Meanwhile, the EPD estimation shows the Indonesia’s exports of agricultural, industry, and mining commodities mostly got rising star positions in some countries but losing opportunity positions in some other countries.
