Abstract

Tinalah Tourism Village, Kulon Progo, has significant potential in utilizing local resources, including coconut shells, which have traditionally been considered waste. This community service program aims to increase the added value of coconut shells through product innovation in the form of handicrafts and other creative products that support the village's tourism identity. Implementation methods include outreach, training, production assistance, and digital-based marketing. The results of the activity show improved skills among residents in processing coconut shells, the creation of new products with economic value, and increased tourist interest in local souvenirs. This program supports the concept of a circular economy, community empowerment, and the development of sustainable tourism villages.

Abstract

Keberadaan daya tarik desa wisata memberikan banyak peluang bisnis ekonomi bagi masyarakat setempat. Sumber bahan baku local yang melimpah dapat dioptimalkan pemanfaatan dengan menginovasi produk pangan local sebagai buah tangan wisatawan. Pelatihan pengolahan ubi ungu menjadi produk spring roll di Desa Wisata Tinalah berhasil membuka peluang pengembangan produk ekonomi kreatif berbasis potensi lokal, dengan meningkatkan keterampilan dan pengetahuan masyarakat, khususnya pelaku kuliner. Melalui lima tahapan kegiatan sosialisasi, pelatihan produksi, pelatihan pengemasan, pelatihan pemasaran, serta evaluasi dan pendampingan lanjutan masyarakat mampu menghasilkan produk olahan ubi ungu yang bernilai tambah, higienis, menarik, serta siap dipasarkan sehingga menjadi salah satu produk oleh-oleh yang unggul dan khas di Desa Wisata Tinalah.

Abstract

In the digital age, where there is a wealth of frequently unreliable information, information literacy is essential to tourists’ decision-making processes. This study aims to examine the importance of information literacy in relation to travel decisions and the variables that affect them. Using a qualitative approach through literature review, this study gathered and analyzed various relevant sources about information literacy and tourist behavior. The findings indicate that tourists with higher levels of information literacy are better equipped to evaluate the credibility of sources, make informed decisions, and understand sustainability aspects that influence conservation behavior. Therefore, improving information literacy in tourism is crucial and should involve cooperation with educational institutions to enhance tourist experiences and promote sustainable tourism.
