Abstract

Teachers possess a central role in shaping the quality of education by improving professional competence through Classroom Action Research (CAR) training. CAR enables teachers to conduct practical research in the classroom, identifying problems and finding concrete solutions. Training not only improves the teaching skills but also enhances the quality of classroom learning. Therefore, this research aimed to build the capacity for professional competence among teachers at Indonesian School of Kota Kinabalu (SIKK). It also improved the insight and action research skills in the school and Community Learning Center (CLC) in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. Training strategy was carried out through blended learning both online and offline. The online training used Zoom platform and Google Classroom Learning Management System, while the offline model was performed in Kota Kinabalu. The methods included dialogue, games, direct practice, and assignments. The results showed that teachers' satisfaction with training services was due to the usefulness of the materials, relevance to the needs, and effective communication during training. The understanding and skills in CAR were also found to be increasing. Additionally, teachers needed to make behavioral changes in classroom learning by conducting CAR. This research finally showed that CAR and the publication of the results would improve the achievement and quality of education. The professional competence and CAR were interrelated concepts where CAR functioned as a method to help teachers identify and overcome learning problems in the classroom systematically and scientifically. Furthermore, the professionalism referred to the abilities, skills, and ethics passed by educators to carry out educational roles effectively, and with dignity when CAR was performed.

This study used a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection instruments are in the form of document studies, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), interviews, and surveys. This method was used to collect data related to the transformation practice of kindergarten teachers' competencies in Kulonprogo. Transformation of teacher competencies is a prerequisite in the recovery framework of post-pandemic education. However, there has not been any transformation of teachers' competences during the pandemic or post-pandemic that was actually arranged by the local government of Kulon Progo Regency for kindergarten teachers. As for programs to improve teacher competence, they were even more recognized before the pandemic. Even though during the pandemic there was a teacher competency improvement program using an online mode in which teachers could participate independently, the results were hardly noticeable due to the lack of commitment and consistency of teachers during training. The increase in teachers' competences actually came from the central government with the guru penggerak and sekolah penggerak programs. This is the homework for the Education Authorities of  Kulon Progo District to improve the competences of kindergarten teachers to maintain and enhance the quality of student learning and prepare them for the global challenges.

Oleh karena itu, untuk meningkatkan profesionalitas guru, pelatihan semacam ini perlu dilanjutkan dan ditingkatkan. Children's intelligence development training for Aisyiyah kindergarten teachersEarly childhood is the golden age to develop their potential multiple intelligences. However, educational activities have often been reduced as teaching and schooling which centered on static transfer of knowledge and sometimes forget to develop non-academic intelligence. This paper aims to describe Aisyiyah teachers training in Banyuwangi Regency to develop the potential multiple intelligence in early childhood. We used dialogical lectures, exercises (simulations), and assistance as the methods. The results showed that 49.74% of 38 participants were satisfied, 48.70% were very satisfied, and only 1.56% were dissatisfied with the contents, methods, and facilities provided. This shows that contents of the material improve teacher's knowledge and could be applied in the teaching environment. Therefore, this kind of training needs to be continued and improved to improve teacher professionalism.
