Abstract

Mastering skills in consecutive interpretation is indispensable for translator profession. The MOCK Conference, as a teaching tool, should be utilized to model the real-life conditions faced by interpreters in their work. This case study aims to identify the benefits of the MOCK Conference and the challenges encountered by trainee translators. The study involved 45 senior students from a private university in Kazakhstan. Data were collected through a survey, which included a Likert-scale questionnaire and open-ended questions for trainee translators. These were then analyzed using descriptive percentages. The results indicated that the respondents positively viewed the opportunities to develop key professional skills and competencies such as bilingual and cross-cultural competence, subject-specific knowledge, and the application of language-specific strategies. These competencies were considered by the participants to be the most essential interpreters’ skills for successful performance in their prospective careers. Additionally, the study revealed that some challenges arose during the MOCK Conference process. Stress, concentration difficulties, note-taking challenges, and time management issues were identified by the research participants as the main obstacles faced during the procedure. The core findings of the study have several implications for pre-service interpreters training, including the evaluation of positive and negative aspects of the MOCK Conference as interpreters training tool, and suggestions for future research.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat sportivitas atlet petanque Kota Yogyakarta, penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan metode survei, populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah atlet petanque Kota Yogyakarta yang berjumlah 20 orang dengan menggunakan teknik total sampling. Analisis data pada uji validitas dan uji reliabilitas pada penelitian ini menggunakan SPSS. Dari hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingkat sportivitas atlet petanque Kota Yogyakarta dalam kategori tinggi, dengan hasil 1) atlet petanque Kota Yogyakarta memiliki sikap komitmen terhadap olahraga petanque pada kategori tinggi, 2) atlet petanque Kota Yogyakarta memiliki sikap konvensional sosial pada kategori tinggi, 3) atlet petanque Kota Yogyakarta memiliki sikap untuk mentaati peraturan perwasitan pada kategori tinggi, dan 4) atlet petanque Kota Yogyakarta memiliki sikap positif pada lawan pada kategori tinggi. SPORTSMANSHIP LEVEL ANALYSIS OF THE PETANQUE ATHLETES IN THE CITY OF YOGYAKARTA AbstractThe purpose of this study is to determine the sportsmanship level of petanque athletes in the city of Yogyakarta. This research is a quantitative descriptive study by implementing a survey method and the population of the research is 20 people of petanque athletes in the city of Yogyakarta by using total sampling technique. Data analysis on the validity test and reliability test in this study is by utilizing SPSS software. From the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that the sportsmanship level of petanque athletes in the city of Yogyakarta is determined as high category, with the results 1) Petanque athletes in the city of Yogyakarta have the commitment attitude towards petanque sports determined as high category, 2) Petanque athletes in the city of Yogyakarta have social conventional attitudes determined as high category, 3) Petanque athletes in the city of Yogyakarta have the attitude to obey the refereeing regulations determined as high category, and 4) Petanque athletes in the city of Yogyakarta have the positive attitude towards opponents determined as high category.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan model permainan rintangan untuk latihan kebugaran jasmani anak usia 10-12 tahun. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan yang mengadaptasi model dari Borg dan Gall (1983), dengan tujuh tahap yaitu: (1) pengumpulan informasi, (2) analisis kebu-tuhan, (3) produk awal, (4) validiasi ahli dan revisi, dan (5) uji coba skala kecil dan revisi, (6) uji coba skala besar, dan (7) produk akhir. Uji coba skala kecil dilakukan terhadap 40 anak di SD Negeri 1 Klaten. Uji coba skala besar dilakukan terhadap 120 di SD Negeri 2 Klaten dan SD Negeri 4 Klaten. Instrumen pengumpulan: (1) pedoman wawancara, (2) skala nilai, (3) pedoman observasi permainan, (4) pedoman observasi keefektifan permainan. Teknik analisis data adalah deskritif kualitatif dan kuantitaif. Hasil penelitian ini berupa buku pedoman pelaksanaan model permainan rintangan. Adapun permainan ini terdiri dari 11 variasi permainan rintangan yang disusun berdasarkan prinsip tumbuh kembang anak, teori ber-main, dan teori latihan kebugaran jasmani. Model permainan rintangan ini terdiri dari: (a) berguling samping dilanjutkan dengan lari lurus sejauh 10 meter, (b) lari cepat berjarak 10 m melewati rintangan kardus yang disusun bervariasi, (c) merobohkan semua cone yang berada di dalam area, (d) berlari zig-zag melintasi rintangan cone, (e) berlari melintasi rintangan papan titian, (f) walking on the moon menggunakan papan titian, (g) berlari memindahkan bola dengan shuttle run membentuk angka delapan jarak 5 m melewati rintangan tiang pancang, (h) lompat satu kaki melewati lingkaran, (i) pole flying, (j) lari balok, dan (k) mengumpulkan cone dengan warna yang sesuai dengan petunjuk yang diterima. Dari hasil penilaian para ahli materi dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa model permainan rintangan yang dikembangkan sangat baik untuk latihan kebugaran jasmani anak usia 10-12 tahun sehingga model permainan layak digunakan.Kata Kunci: model permainan rintangan (handicap games), kebugaran jasmani usia 10-12 tahun.

Abstract

This study aims to develop the ADILUHUNG PADUKA training module to enhance the technical skills, service ethics, and legal awareness of official drivers at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY). Drivers, as frontline representatives of the institution, play a strategic role in shaping the university’s public image and ensuring safe and efficient transportation services. Using a Research and Development (R&D) approach, this study employed a modified Borg and Gall model consisting of needs analysis, design, initial product development, expert validation, limited field testing, product revision, effectiveness evaluation, and dissemination. A total of 48 active drivers and one vehicle coordinator participated in the study. Data were gathered through surveys, interviews, observations, and expert and user validation instruments. Quantitative and qualitative analyses were conducted to evaluate module feasibility. The results demonstrate that the ADILUHUNG PADUKA module meets high standards of content validity, instructional design quality, and practical usability. Expert validation across sessions—driving safety, service ethics, and legal awareness—rated the module as “Very Effective,” while driver responses positioned all practicality indicators in the “Very Good” category. The module significantly improved drivers’ technical competence, professional behavior, and understanding of legal responsibilities. The findings indicate that the training module is feasible for institutional implementation and has the potential for adaptation by other higher education institutions seeking to standardize driver professionalism and strengthen transportation service quality.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically examine the Power of "Not-Yet-Sure" paradigm as a strategy for adaptive and sustainable educational change. This study uses a literature review method of 32 reputable academic sources covering educational change theory, complexity theory, educational psychology, adaptive leadership, and change management. The results of the study indicate that uncertainty is an inherent character of educational change and cannot be separated from the nature of the education system as a complex adaptive system. The not-yet-sure paradigm, supported by the concepts of growth mindset and reflective learning, enables individuals and educational institutions to interpret uncertainty as a space for learning and innovation. Furthermore, adaptive and distributed leadership has been shown to play a crucial role in managing uncertainty productively through collective learning and strengthening organizational capacity

Abstract

Digital transformation and the implementation of distance education require the readiness of educational support staff as key enablers of technology-based academic services, particularly in the context of vocational and applied higher education. This study aims to analyze the readiness of educational support staff in supporting digital-based distance education in terms of digital literacy, understanding of distance education policies, and the capacity to manage online learning systems. The study employed a descriptive sequential explanatory mixed-methods design. Quantitative data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire administered to educational support staff, while qualitative data were obtained through semi-structured interviews. The results indicate that 65% of educational support staff demonstrated moderate to good levels of digital literacy, 60% showed a moderate level of understanding of distance education policies, and only approximately 55% exhibited optimal readiness in managing online learning systems. Qualitative findings reveal that limited access to continuous professional training, diverse educational backgrounds, and uneven institutional support constitute the main barriers to staff readiness. This study concludes that the readiness of educational support staff needs to be systematically strengthened to ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of digital academic services and distance education.  The contribution of this study lies in providing empirical evidence to support capacity-building strategies and institutional policies aimed at strengthening human resource readiness for digital transformation in vocational and applied higher education.

Abstract

Pusat Kegiatan Belajar Masyarakat (PKBM) sebagai satuan pendidikan nonformal menghadapi berbagai tantangan dalam penyelenggaraan pembelajaran, khususnya yang berkaitan dengan kompleksitas karakteristik warga belajar dewasa, keterbatasan sumber daya, serta masih adanya stigma negatif terhadap pendidikan nonformal. Kondisi tersebut menuntut tutor PKBM tidak hanya memiliki kompetensi pedagogis, tetapi juga kesiapan psikologis dan pola pikir yang adaptif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji urgensi penanaman growth mindset bagi tutor PKBM melalui pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif berbasis kajian pustaka. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa kajian pustaka dan dokumentasi terhadap berbagai sumber ilmiah yang relevan, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa growth mindset berperan penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas interaksi pembelajaran, memperkuat motivasi warga belajar, meningkatkan adaptivitas tutor terhadap dinamika pembelajaran, serta mendukung keberlanjutan layanan PKBM. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa penguatan growth mindset tutor merupakan kebutuhan yang mendesak dan strategis dalam pengembangan pendidikan nonformal berbasis masyarakat.
