Abstract

YouTube media can increase students' interest and motivation to learn, can foster an attentive attitude, creativity, as well as students' cognitive and psychomotor abilities to develop their reasoning from what they see and hear. This type of research is classroom action research with presentation of qualitative descriptive data and quantitative data. Qualitative data was obtained from observation sheets for each action implementation (learning process), and quantitative data was obtained from the final test of each cycle. Class VII students of SMP Negeri 10 Jambi City. Meanwhile, the subjects in this research were class VII students at SMP Negeri 10 Jambi City for the 2023/2024 academic year. Of the 28 students, there were 25 students who succeeded in analyzing the truth of 10 news stories presented via YouTube. It can be concluded that their analytical skills were quite good overall.

Abstract

This activity is a community service activity carried out at the Jambi City Education Office. Based on initial discussions and surveys, it is known that teachers find it difficult to build a learning climate that is familiar with technology. This is the reason this service activity is carried out. Teachers as educators can utilize various things to support learning. Along with technological developments, teachers are also expected to be able to utilize technology in the teaching and learning process. Through the service activities carried out, the service team provides outreach to teachers about utilizing social media in learning Indonesian. The service was held in the Tut Wuri Handayani Hall of the Jambi City Education Office and was attended by state and private middle school teachers. The team provided service material about the use of social media by accompanying simple practices in using Whatsapp and Instagram. The result of this activity is that middle school Indonesian language teachers in Jambi City received information related to the use of features in applications or social media platforms. Apart from that, teachers are also given counseling regarding wise use of social media so they can guide students in using social media in learning.

Abstract

This research aims to describe how the Project Based Learning Model is implemented in the material Finding Elements of Fiction Works for class VIII SMP Negeri 12 Jambi City. The formulation of this research problem is how teachers apply the Project Based Learning model in the material Finding Elements of Fiction Works. This research uses qualitative methods and descriptive research type. The data source in this research is a teacher who teaches in a class in the Indonesian language subject. The data in this research is divided into two, the results of field research and the results of documentation. Data collection techniques in this research include observation, interviews, tests, documentation. In testing the validity of the data using triangulation techniques. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 12 Jambi City. This research was conducted in 3 meetings. The results of this research are (1) Essential Questions and Project Determination Activities, the Indonesian language subject teacher asks essential questions to students and the determination of the project to be carried out is to find elements in a work of fiction made in a poster. (2) Activities at the project planning design stage, at the planning stage are carried out collaboratively by both the teacher and all students. (3) Activities at the schedule preparation stage, activities at this stage create a timeline for project work and create a deadline for project completion. (4) Activities at the stage of monitoring students and project progress, the teacher will act as a mentor for student activities in working on the project. (5) Activities at the results testing stage are carried out to assist teachers in measuring students' intelligence and taking grades for project assignments. (6) Activities at the learning experience evaluation stage, so that each group can see the results of the project assignments carried out so that they can make improvements according to the teacher's suggestions. Project based learning can be used as a learning model now. Instill didactic values in students so they are not arrogant. The research results can be used as a reference source for other researchers who want to research the same research with different studies and can be used as a guide.

Abstract

Writing an essay is a skill that a person has because an essay is a work that describes a situation with writing that can be read but the reader is also invited to feel and imagine the situation in the essay. In learning Indonesian, essays are very important to learn because they can create a work. which provides knowledge, ideas and pleasure for the writer. Writing descriptions is an important thing to explain the situation and place in an essay but students often make writing errors, these errors occur because students do not understand punctuation, capital letters and the correct sentences to use in writing. This research aims to analyze and describe punctuation errors in students' descriptive essay writing. The method used in research is the description method. The researcher chose the description method with the aim of explaining the circumstances and conditions of the data systematically and factually. This research approach uses a quantitative approach because this research produces data in the form of numbers from the assessment of students' abilities in writing punctuation marks, capital letters and sentences in descriptive essays. from the results of the research explained in chapter IV, it can be concluded that the ability to write punctuation, capital letters, sentences for class VII E of SMP Negeri 10 Jambi City for the 2023/2024 academic year is capable with a score of 77. In writing punctuation, capital letters, sentences in The descriptive essay of class VII B students of SMP Negeri 10 Jambi City for the 2023/2024 academic year is very capable with an assessment of 82.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan materi yang diperlukan peserta dalam rangka meningkatkan skor Uji Kemahiran Berbahasa Indonesia (UKBI). Kuesioner terbuka digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data dan diisi oleh 67 responden yang telah mengikuti tes UKBI sebelumnya. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui analisis tematik terhadap jawaban responden. Penelitian ini menemukan hasil yang menunjukkan materi keterampilan menyimak adalah materi yang paling dibutuhkan oleh peserta UKBI, yang kemudian diikuti oleh materi keterampilan merespon kaidah, dan keterampilan membaca. Hasil ini dapat menjadi dasar bagi penelitian selanjutnya untuk mengembangkan materi panduan persiapan menghadapi UKBI.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendiskripsikan Penggunaan Media TikTok dalam Pembelajaran Menyimak Teks Prosedur Kelas VII SMP 17 Kota Jambi. Analisis penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan mengunakan metode deskriptif. Pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media TikTok dapat digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran menyimak teks prosedur kelas VII SMP 17 Kota Jambi, berjalan sesuai dengan tahapan pembelajaran yang telah dirancang berdasarkan modul ajar. Selain itu terlihat hasil pemerolehan kerja siswa yang didapatkankan dengan nilai 86 kategori baik sekali. Mengingat TikTok mempunyai fitur yang beragam dengan cara pengoperasian yang mudah membuat media TikTok diharapkan dapat digunakan sebagai media dalam peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia melalui materi teks prosedur.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi tenaga kependidikan dalam penerapan Ejaan Yang Disempurnakan (EYD) Edisi V pada penulisan surat dinas di SMP se-Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Timur. Permasalahan yang ditemukan di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar tenaga kependidikan masih menggunakan aturan ejaan lama dan belum memahami secara utuh kaidah terbaru, seperti penulisan kata serapan, penggunaan huruf kapital, serta tanda baca. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan berupa pre-test, sosialisasi, simulasi kasus nyata, pendampingan, dan post test. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman terhadap surat dinas melalui kaidah EYD Edisi V. Hal ini terlihat peningkatan signifikan dari hasil pre test dengan hasil post test dalam pemahaman penulisan surat dinas. Peningkatan ini membuktikan bahwa tenaga kependidikan mulai memahami dan mampu menerapkan EYD Edisi V dengan lebih baik. Dengan demikian, program pengabdian ini memberikan kontribusi nyata terhadap penguatan kompetensi kebahasaan tenaga kependidikan sekaligus peningkatan kualitas administrasi pendidikan.
