Abstract

The current issue of plastic waste has not yet received appropriate handling, resulting in the inadequate control of plastic waste management practices. Particularly, High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) is still widely encountered. HDPE is a thermoplastic made from petroleum with a melting temperature of 160ºC-240ºC, characterized by being slightly cloudy, transparent, and elastic. This research will conduct testing using a complete randomized design (RAL) factorial analysis with 3 factors to determine the influence of factor A (heating temperature), the influence of factor B (heating time), and the influence of factor C (opening temperature) on flashing defects and warpage defects in HDPE plastic. Based on the testing of flashing defects, the significant influencing factors are factor A (heating temperature), factor B (heating time), factor C (opening temperature), and the interaction of factors AB (heating temperature and heating time). Meanwhile, the significant influencing factors on warpage defects are factor A (heating temperature), factor B (heating time), and the interaction of AB (heating temperature and heating time). Based on this research, the characteristics of HDPE plastic can be determined.

Abstract

Buck-boost inverter is one tool that can convert Direct Current (DC) voltage into Alternating Current (AC) voltage while simultaneously increasing and decreasing the output voltage. On the other hand, there is a problem with induction motors, namely the presence of Common Mode Voltage (CMV) or the voltage between the neutral point of the motor and ground which can accelerate wear on the bearings and damage to the motor. One method that can reduce CMV is by using an active filter. Another problem due to the use of inverters is that there are harmonics due to the switching process. This research will examine the effect of adding modified BBI plus an active filter to a three-phase induction motor on CMV and THDv. This research process begins with designing a circuit simulation in the MATLAB application, then simulation testing is carried out to see its effect on CMV and THDv values. BBI simulation test results after the addition of active filters with conventional inverter circuit CMV worth 250V with THD worth 6744.45%, while the BBI circuit coupled with active filters worth 22V and THDv worth 114.53%. As well as the BBI circuit plus an active filter, CMV is worth 2.6V with THDv worth 65.30%.

Abstract

The implementation of an AC Light Dimmer and Relay 2 Channel as an automatic lamp control system on a Street Lighting (APJ) prototype based on the Internet of Things (IoT) is used to support energy efficiency on Jalan Bukit Dharma Raya Jimbaran. This system is designed to automatically adjust light intensity based on time and the presence of road users detected by an ultrasonic sensor. Monitoring and control are performed in real-time via the Telegram platform, with energy consumption monitored using the PZEM-004T module. The prototype is built using an ESP32 microcontroller, which controls the lamp activation, brightness through the AC Light Dimmer, and ON/OFF status via the Relay 2 Channel. Test results show that the system can improve energy efficiency by up to 43.75% and save electricity costs by Rp132.56 during 2 hours of operation. This system implementation has proven to be effective, adaptive to environmental conditions, and supports the application of intelligent and energy-efficient street lighting systems.

Abstract

Street lighting plays a crucial role in supporting public safety and comfort, especially at night. However, many areas, such as Jalan Bukit Dharma Raya Jimbaran, still lack adequate lighting systems. This study designs and implements an intelligent street lighting system based on the Internet of Things (IoT), utilizing the ESP32 Devkit V1 as the central controller, along with an LDR sensor, ultrasonic sensor, and an AC Light Dimmer to automatically adjust light intensity according to time and traffic conditions. Test results show that the system operates efficiently and adaptively, achieving energy savings of up to 17.6% and cost savings of Rp 54.39 compared to a manual system, with efficiency levels varying depending on road user activity. The prototype has proven effective in enhancing energy efficiency and offers an adaptive lighting solution that can be further developed to support the concept of a sustainable smart city.

Abstract

Kemacetan akibat naiknya volume kendaraan pada persimpangan jalan merupakan tantangan utama dalam manajemen lalu lintas, kondisi ini mengakibatkan turunnya tingkat pelayan persimpangan. Turunnya tingkat pelayanan ditandai dengan lamanya waktu tundaan pada persimpangan tersebut [1], hal ini terjadiakibat kurangnya kemampuan adaptasi pengendalian traffic light konvensional terhadap fluktuasi volume kendaraan. Berdasarkan permasalahan ini diperlukan sebuah sistem traffic light yang mampu beradaptasi terhadap fluktuasi volume kendaraan, sehingga penelitian ini mengembangkan Automated Traffic Light Phase Control yang mampu melakukan pengendalian adaptif pada traffic light. Sistem ini terdiri dari 2 komponen yakni perangkat observasi sebagai pendeteksi volume kendaraan dengan program computer vision dan perangkat kontrol sebagai pengendali traffic light berdasarkan volume kendaraan. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan perangkat observasi memiliki akurasi deteksi 86,4% dan perangkat kontrol dapat menyesuaikan phase traffic light secara otomatis sehingga menunjukkan potensi dalam meningkatkan efisiensi pengelolaan lalu lintas di persimpangan dan mengurangi waktu tundaan lalu lintas
