Abstract

This study aims to describe: the role of the principal in developing the quality of education, the supporting factors in developing the quality of education and the inhibiting factors in developing the quality of education at SD Negeri 001 Bonai Darussalam. This research was conducted at SD Negeri 001 Bonai Darussalam, Rokan Hulu Regency. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The data sources of this research are the principal and 2 teachers. Data collection techniques and instruments in this case the researchers used the interview, observation and documentation methods. Focused data analysis using the Miles & Huberman model, namely data reduction, presentation and conclusion drawing. The findings of this study indicate that there are three roles of the principal in developing the quality of education at SD Negeri 001 Bonai Darussalam, namely the principal as a manager, the principal as an educator and the principal as a motivator. The supporting factors in developing the quality of education at SD Negeri 001 Bonai Darussalam are good human resources (HR), the existence of a teacher's jihad spirit in teaching and educating good students to make outstanding students, and the cohesiveness of school residents. . In addition, there are also inhibiting factors in developing the quality of education, namely the lack of infrastructure in the teaching and learning process, the competence of teachers who are still lacking in developing the quality of education at SD Negeri 001 Bonai Darussalam and environmental factors.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the thematic learning difficulties in fourth grade students and describe the difficulty factors that affect thematic learning difficulties in fourth grade students at SDN 014 Binjai Island. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. Sources of data in this study were fourth grade teachers and 6 fourth grade students at SDN 014 Binjai Island. Data collection techniques used are interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique uses the Milles and Huberman model with stages, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that there were six thematic learning difficulties in grade IV students, namely, 1) students felt confused, 2) students who had low cognitive/thinking power were left behind, 3) were less than optimal in receiving lessons, 4) parents had difficulties when helping. children study at home 5) students get low scores, and 6) students feel bored. While the difficulty factors that affect thematic learning difficulties at SDN 014 Binjai Island are eight, namely 1) lots of and mixed materials, 2) student learning styles, 3) HR (Human Resources), 4) student age, 5) thinking power. or students' cognitive, 6) parents, 7) long learning time, and 8) classroom atmosphere. The conclusion in this study is that there are still difficulties experienced by students related to thematic learning, this is due to a lot of influencing factors.

Abstract

This study aims to describe student learning independence in thematic learning in class V SDN Rantau Sialang, Kuantan Mudik District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of this study were the fifth grade teachers and the rest of the fifth graders. The data collection techniques used were interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique uses the Milles and Huberman model with stages, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the fifth grade students already had independent learning in thematic learning. This can be seen from the activities while students study thematically. Students' independent learning attitudes that arise during thematic learning are 1) confident, 2) active in learning, 3) disciplined in learning and the last is 4) responsibility in learning. The conclusion of this study is that the teacher has carried out the learning process in accordance with the 2013 curriculum, namely the thematic learning of the teacher can develop the learning independence of fifth grade students at SDN 018 Rantau Sialang, Kuantan Mudik District, Kuantan Singingi Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the learning motivation of students in class II SDN 016 Kopah Village. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of this study were second grade teachers and all second grade students at SDN 016 Kopah Village. Data collection techniques used are interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique used the Milles and Huberman model with stages, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the teacher always provides learning motivation to students during the learning process. given by the teacher, namely, 1) Praise Motivation, 2) rewards, 3) and the use of interesting activities during the learning process. Then, student motivation is divided into two, namely intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation. There are some students who are included in intrinsic motivation. Intrinsic motivation factors, namely, 1) the desire and desire to succeed, 2) the drive and need in learning, 3) the expectations and ideals, and 4) the appreciation in learning. The criteria for students who have extrinsic motivation are students who always need encouragement, praise and appreciation from the teacher. The conclusion of this study is, the learning motivation of second grade students of State Elementary Schools can be said to be good, seen from 13 students who have many intrinsic motivations in second grade students of SDN 016 Kopah Village.

Abstract

This study aims to describe; Knowing the problems of making the fourth grade thematic Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) at SDS YKPP Lyrics, Knowing how the solutions were made by the teacher to overcome the problems of making the fourth grade thematic Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) at SDS YKPP Lyrics. This research use desciptive qualitative approach. The data sources of this study were two fourth grade teachers and one principal. This research was conducted in the fourth grade of SDS YKPP Lyric which is located on JL. Ukui No.1 Lyrics Area Lyrics District, Indragiri Hulu Regency. data collection techniques in this study are; interviews, observations, and documentation. While the analysis of research data using the Miles & Huberman model which includes data reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the Problem Analysis of Making Class IV Thematic Learning Implementation Plans (RPP) at SDS YKPP Lyrics: (a) The problems of making Class IV thematic Learning Implementation Plans (RPP) at SDS YKPP Lyrics were limited time, lack of understanding of RPP components, difficulty determining learning strategies and learning media. (b). The solution that the teacher does to overcome the problem of making the thematic Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) for grade IV at SDS YKPP Lyric is to add additional information, attend training activities, or workshops, refer to the teacher's handbook, conduct discussions with colleagues.

Abstract

Lack of teachers in organizing the material with the real life of students so that the learning process seems meaningless. The teacher is one of the determining factors for the success of any educational effort and the teacher has a very important role in the learning process. To organize subject matter with students' daily lives, teachers need to improve how to teach well and teachers are able to choose the right learning methods for teaching. The CTL learning model is a learning model in which a conception that helps learning activities connect the content of teaching materials with students' real world situations. This study aims to find out how the teacher's role in implementing the contextual teaching and learning (CTL) model for elementary school students. This type of research is qualitative research. The research was conducted in class V of Pekanbaru Adventist Elementary School, with 3 teachers and 3 students as the subject. Methods of data collection using interviews, observation and document review. Data analysis used descriptive qualitative analysis. The results of the study indicate the teacher's role in using contextual teaching and learning (CTL), it can be seen that the teacher does planning such as preparing lesson plans, then the teacher carries out the learning process using the CTL model. Furthermore, the teacher also the results of the learning that has been done.

Abstract

The role of the teacher in the school environment is not only as a teacher, there are so many teacher roles that the teacher must carry out. One of the teacher's roles in schools is to enforce school rules, where this order is very important to carry out so that discipline is embedded in students. In this study, the main objective is to describe how the role of teachers in enforcing school rules and regulations. Techniques for collecting the data needed in this study used interview, observation, and documentation techniques. To manage the data using an interactive analysis model from Miles and Huberman, namely collecting data, reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. In this study resulted in a style of role performed by the teacher such as using a role style that is seen in the process undertaken by the teacher in supervising students, making decisions, and enforcing rules and acting in determining a solution or problem that arises.

Abstract

This study aims to develop thematic teaching materials integrated with Riau Malay cultural values for grade IV elementary students in Pekanbaru by using the Educational Research and Development or Educational R&D method. The development research is carried out in 3 stages, namely: 1) the preliminary study conducted by applying a qualitative descriptive approach by distributing questionnaire and interviewing the teachers and the students in order to find out their actual needs of teaching materials 2) the development of teaching material designed and integrated with the Riau Malay cultural values, followed by expert judgment, revisions, and improvements, limited trials, as well as evaluation and improvement, 3) evaluation which includes the implementation of models created by the quasi- experimental method using the pretest-posttest control group design. The results showed that the research team designed the required teaching material in the second stage in the form of a book entitled ”The 2013 Curriculum Integrated Thematic Supplement,” which can be used by elementary schools in Pekanbaru.

Abstract

This research aims to; 1) describe the condition of the physical environment at Elementary School 111 Pekanbaru in the implementation of environmental literacy; 2) describe the implementation of Adiwiyata program at Elementary School 111 Pekanbaru in an effort to implement environmental literacy; 3) describe the learning at Elementary School 111 Pekanbaru in the effort to apply environmental literacy; and 4) describe the obstacles and solutions attempted by the schools at Elementary School 111 Pekanbaru in the implementation of environmental literacy. The method used in this study is naturalistic inquiry. The location of this study was conducted at Elementary School 111 Pekanbaru. Data collection techniques in this study are; 1) interview; 2) observation; and 3) documentation. Data analysis of the results of the study used Miles and Huberman model, namely, data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusion. The research results obtained that First, efforts to increase students' environmental literacy through the condition of the physical environment of Elementary School 111 Pekanbaru was dominated by the existence of Adiwiyata physical evidence. Second, efforts to increase environmental literacy of students in Elementary School 111 Pekanbaru through the Adiwiyata program are more dominated by the existence of Adiwiyata physical evidence and the application of an environment-based curriculum (monolithic curriculum for Environmental education subjects). Third, efforts to improve environmental literacy of students are made through learning, namely the selection of Basic Competencies in 2013 curriculum which has an environmental content and utilizes the school environment as a learning laboratory. Fourth, that is related to the obstacles encountered and the solutions pursued by Elementary School 111 Pekanbaru in an effort to increase environmental literacy of students. As for the obstacles including: accustoming students to love the environment, uniting the perspectives and goals of classroom action research, students, and parents, the solution pursued by Elementary School 111 Pekanbaru is to keep trying to accustom, give examples, give advices, provide guidance, and return to the written rules. The next obstacle is that there are still some teachers who sometimes give bad examples, the solution pursued by Elementary School 111 Pekanbaru is to inter-inspect each other related to activities in the school environment. The next obstacle is that some teachers are still trying to adjust to the implementation of 2013 curriculum, and the solution sought by Elementary School 111 Pekanbaru is to interact, learn and ask more experienced teachers.

Abstract

Tujuan dari riset ini mengetahui peran kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dalam pembinaan kedisiplinan guru dalam melaksanakan tugasnya di Sekolah Dasar, bagaimana strategi kepala sekolah terhadap pembinaan kedisiplinan guru dan kendala dalam pembinaan kedisiplinan guru dalam melaksanakan tugas di Sekolah Dasar Negeri 29 Pekanbaru. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dokumen. Kemudian teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan kesimpulan. Hasil pada penelitian ini kepala sekolah dan guru sudah memahami tentang konsep disiplin itu sendiri. Guru-guru juga sudah mengetahui berbagai peraturan yang ada di sekolah dan berusaha untuk mematuhi peraturan-peraturan tersebut. Dalam pelaksanaannya, jika ada guru yang melanggar peraturan harus diberi sanksi, namun di SD Negeri 29 Pekanbaru belum pernah ada sanksi berat yang diterima guru, hanya ada teguran dari kepala sekolah jika ada guru yang melanggar peraturan yang ringan, seperti terlambat datang ke sekolah
