Abstract

Exploration activities of the oil and gas are done in a long time, and usually this activities is done in deep sea and far from the maindland. To facilitate transportation then used helicopter, therefore the rig must be equipped with a helideck for helicopter landing. Helideck and the support structure are important elements of safety because of its role in emergency evacuation and normal operations. To meet the safety factor, helideck must have strong supporting structure, in accordance with the permitted material. So we need examine about the strength of plan support structure by doing load calculations as well as load simulation by Finite Element Methode when helicopter landing under normal conditions and emergency conditions. From the simulation and analysis results, it is known that the maximum stress applied to the helideck support structure when helicopter landing under normal conditions is 54,88 MPa and under emergency conditions is 65,22 MPa. The maximum deflection occuriing in the helideck support srtructure when helicopter landing under normal conditions is 14,45 mm and under emergency conditions is 17,19 mm. The helideck support structure is safe according to the criteria, since the safety factor simulation results when helicopter landing under normal conditions is 4,9 and under emergency conditions is 4,2 and the maximum deflection value that occurs is bellow the maximum allowable deflection value

Abstract

Manufacturing Division applies make to order and jobshop strategies. Some mould that produced was late in completion. One of the factor that make it late is the arranging of Master Production Schedule (MPS) without considering to the calculation of production capacity. Meanwhile the calculation of production capacity can doing validation to MPS. So it necessery to calculate production capacity as reference to arrange MPS.This research used Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) method to calculate production capacity. The arranging og MPS using transportation method by considering the result of RCCP analysis. Production scheduling did in one of the mould using Shortest Processing Time (SPT) rules with the help of WinQSB software. The results of this research are the calculation of available capacity and needed capacity. The result of RCCP analysis are 11 mould can fulfill the target and 8 mould can not fulfill the target. Improvment of MPS can solve the problem of lacking capacity by determining reguler time and overtime. Total cost for machining process using transportation method is Rp 1.426.192.100,- while the company cost is Rp1.484.692.739,-. Production scheduling resulted the faster completion time than the company production schedule. The production scheduling of the company for 29 days while using software for 22 days. The results of all calculation and data processing can be used as reference by Manufacturing Divison on the next production to minimize the lateness.

Abstract

PT. Apie Indo Karunia is one of the companies engaged in the foundry located in Sidoarjo. The company itself is a company that works by order / orderan from the consumer (Make to Order). Some of the products produced are gears, industrial machinery parts, and other steel construction. Products that have serrations are used as research material because of the high level of product order quantity. In this case the problem is the existence of flow back and forth process, so that the emergence of overtrasnsportation that can increase the cost of material handling and also affect the waste of time just for the process of removal. The cause of this alternating flow is because the layout of the machines is irregular (not in accordance with the process of making the gear and does not consider the type of production process of the company in the type of jobshop), where the engine layout should be grouped according to function. In addition, from the irregular arrangement of machines causes a pile of material / product (no special space for products that are queued up or processed). To handle the problem, used Methodatic System Layout Planning (SLP) developed by Richard Muther. The first step is to input data, then make Flow Process Chart, distance, time and speed of material transportation, make Activity Relationship Chart, and Activity Relationship Diagram. Result of research of layout design result 3 layout alternative then chosen one layout proposal selected with nlai cost and distance of best move with total distance material handling 5117,17 m / month and material handling cost every month equal to Rp 1.479.724,- So it can increase the efficiency of material handling cost (OMH) by 54%.

Abstract

The development of science and technology from time to time has an impact on the industrial sector. Many industries use manufacturing technology in their production processes. PT. Palma Eiko Pack is a plastic forming and custom forming packaging production company and can serve orders in large quantities. In the production process, especially in the process of cutting plastic rolls into certain sizes, it is still done manually so it takes a long time. One plastic roll with a length of 50 m and a width of 1.4 m requires 3 people for the plastic cutting process and in 1 day is able to cut 5 plastic rolls, while the company targets at least 1 day to be able to cut 15 plastic rolls. From these problems, there is a solution to make a machine that is able to work safely, quickly, and does not require a large amount of power with a compressor or air pump as the main driver. The machine is designed simply so that workers can operate the machine easily. The material of the machine also uses materials that are easy to find. Making a machine design concept using the Ulrich method, the first step is to identify theproblem and formulate the problem to choose the concept used. After analyzing the engine frame. Furthermore, the design design is carried out to become a machine. After the machine is finished, it is tested to find out whether the machine is able to work optimally to meet the company's target.

Abstract

Gethuk pisang is a food product made from banana which is a traditional food from Kediri Regency. However, gethuk pisang production process still uses the traditional method. Of course that was require more time and labor to meet consumer demands. Machines to improve the gethuk pisang production process have been made before, but these machines are still not optimal in terms of production capacity. Therefore, we need an idea and innovation to create a machine to improve the production of gethuk pisang in the form of a machine for mixing and molding the dough of gethuk pisang for home-scale industries. The machine manufacturing process will use the Ulrich method from identifying machine requirements to selecting concepts and fabrication. Based on the results of the design using the Ulrich method, the design concept was chosen 1. Then planning, calculation and analysis will be carried out to determine the components to build the machine. The next stage is making of detailed drawings of the machine, followed by the fabrication and testing process. In testing the mixer and molding machine for gethuk pisang’s dough, the machine is capable of producing 31.74 kg per hour with a total cost of Rp.6,491,500,-.

Abstract

The metal casting industry is an activity of processing molten metal material formed in a mould pattern to produce the desired product. Because the gas emissions released during metal smelting have an impact on the safety and health of workers, there is a decrease in air quality and a dust concentration of 1608.30 ?g/m3 is obtained. This value is above the threshold determined by the Decree of the Governor of Central Java no. 8 of 2011 which is 230 ?g/m3. In machining, the entire mould area, and induction furnace are areas that produce a lot of dust particulates. For this reason, it is necessary to design an air filtration system, namely a dust collector system. Dust collector works by sucking dust and air using a pump which is then filtered using a dust filter. The analysis process of this system design will use computational fluid dynamics method. With the analysis of the working system of the machine, it is expected that it will work optimally in air circulation in the metal smelting production building. Then a Cost Budget Plan will also be carried out, in order to estimate the amount of costs required in the installation of the design of the dust collector system. The calculation results in the simulation show that the best performance is in the layout design 2. The suction capacity in the layout design 2 is 13.57 m3/s. These results are not much different from manual calculations or hand calculations.

Abstract

Additive Manufacturing Technology (AM) is interesting concern to be developed or usually called by 3D printing. In the production process, good quality output and optimal production are very important. Kind of dependent variable that affects product quality and high selling value is surface roughness, and that becomes the value of efficiency is the products build time. In this study, independent variable or parameters namely layer height; nozzle te mperature; and print speed are factors which is researched to obtain the optimal output. The design of experiment was made using the Taguchi method with orthogonal matrix of L9(34) by 3 times replication. Result analysis is using Grey Relational Analysis to obtain the optimal combination of parameters through the combined response. After conducting prediction experiments and getting optimal parameter predictions, a confirmation experiment is needed as a validation of the experiment's success. The optimal parameter results are the layer height of 0.05 mm, the nozzle temperature of 190oC, and the print speed of 60mm/s with average of roughness surface of 3.938?m and production time of ±109,933 minutes. Based on analysis, the contribution of layer height parameters were 41.2929%, the nozzletemperature 6.8134%, and the print speed 40.3769% throught the combined response.
