Abstract

Contemporary education faces various complex challenges, ranging from the dominance of technocratic approaches, an excessive orientation towards cognitive achievement, to the risk of dehumanization due to the digitization of education. These conditions demand deep philosophical reflection so that education remains grounded in its fundamental purpose as a process of humanization. This article aims to examine and reconstruct Ki Hadjar Dewantara's ideas on education conceptually and philosophically in response to the challenges of education today. This study uses a qualitative approach with library research. The data sources consist of Ki Hadjar Dewantara's original works as primary sources and various relevant national and international literature as secondary sources. Data analysis was conducted descriptively and analytically with a philosophical-critical approach through data reduction, theme organization, and reflective interpretation. The results of the study show that Ki Hadjar Dewantara's educational thinking emphasizes education as a process of guiding human nature as a whole through a balance of creativity, feeling, and will. The principles of among and the trilogy of educational leadership have strong conceptual relevance to the humanistic pedagogical paradigm, learner-centered learning, and transformative educational leadership. This study confirms that Ki Hadjar Dewantara's thinking is not only historically valuable but also offers an important reflective philosophical framework for reconstructing the direction of national education to remain humanistic, character-building, and contextual amid the dynamics of changing times.

Abstract

Character education in the digital era faces significant challenges due to the rapid advancement of technology, social media, and online learning platforms that influence students’ behavior and moral development. Although digital transformation provides wide access to information and learning resources, it also contributes to issues such as cyberbullying, misinformation, declining digital ethics, and gadget dependency. This study aims to analyze Ki Hadjar Dewantara’s perspective on character education and examine its relevance in addressing the challenges of the digital era. The research employs a library research method in the form of a figure study, utilizing primary sources from Ki Hadjar Dewantara’s original works and secondary sources from relevant scholarly articles and research findings. Data were collected through documentation techniques and analyzed using content analysis to identify key concepts and their contextual implementation in modern education. The findings reveal that Ki Hadjar Dewantara’s concept of character education, which emphasizes the balanced development of cipta (intellect), rasa (emotion), and karsa (will), as well as the principles of Ing Ngarso Sung Tulodo, Ing Madya Mangun Karso, and Tut Wuri Handayani, remains highly relevant. These principles provide a moral foundation for integrating technology into education while maintaining ethical and humanistic values.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk menanamkan dan memperkuat budaya anti-korupsi melalui penyuluhan pendidikan anti-korupsi kepada siswa SMA Institut Indonesia Semarang. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan edukatif dan partisipatif, meliputi penyampaian materi dalam Kelas Inspirasi, pelaksanaan Proyek Aksi Nyata, dan Kampanye Digital Anti-Korupsi. Berdasarkan hasil pre-test dan post-test, terjadi peningkatan pemahaman siswa dari 42% menjadi 86%. Proyek aksi yang dijalankan antara lain Kotak Saran Anti-Korupsi dan Pengawasan Kantin Jujur, sedangkan kampanye digital dilakukan melalui konten kreatif di media sosial. Tim pengabdian yang terdiri dari akademisi lintas disiplin berperan aktif dalam menyusun kurikulum, merancang pendekatan pembelajaran karakter, serta mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai historis dan kebangsaan. Tindak lanjut dilakukan melalui pendampingan intensif dan pembentukan Duta Integritas Sekolah sebagai upaya keberlanjutan program. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan ini efektif dalam meningkatkan kesadaran integritas siswa dan dapat dijadikan model penguatan karakter berbasis nilai antikorupsi di lingkungan pendidikan

Abstract

Purpose − The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has transformed digital citizenship by reshaping civic participation, public discourse, and democratic interaction in digital spaces. Alongside broader opportunities for civic engagement, AI also raises ethical challenges such as algorithmic bias, disinformation, social polarization, privacy violations, and the decline of citizens’ critical-reflective capacities. This study aims to examine the ethical and pedagogical challenges of digital citizenship education in the AI era and to explore Muhammadiyah values as a religious-ethical framework for fostering ethical digital citizenship. Method − This study employed a qualitative library research approach. Data were collected from journal articles, academic books, policy documents, and official publications related to AI, digital citizenship, and Muhammadiyah thought. The data were analyzed using content analysis and conceptual–normative analysis guided by Muhammadiyah values, including aqidah, akhlak, ibadah, and muamalah duniawiyah within the paradigm of Progressive Islam. Findings − The findings reveal that AI fundamentally transforms digital citizenship through the mediation of information flows, participation patterns, and public opinion formation. Although AI expands civic engagement opportunities, it also creates ethical risks that may weaken democratic values and social responsibility. Muhammadiyah values provide a relevant ethical foundation for strengthening digital citizenship education by promoting critical awareness, moral responsibility, and ethical participation in digital spaces.

Abstract

The increasing number of beggars, vagrants, and homeless people (BVH) in Banyumas Regency highlights the limitations of social welfare policies in addressing these issues sustainably. Previous studies have tended to focus on aspects of enforcement, control, or partial rehabilitation, while policy evaluations that integrate implementation performance and inter-agency governance at the local level remain limited. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness, adequacy, responsiveness, and equity of BVH management policies for the 2020–2024 period and to analyze governance between the Social Affairs Office and the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP). The study employs a descriptive qualitative method using a case study approach in South Purwokerto Subdistrict, selected due to high community mobility and the intensity of BVH presence. There were five informants, consisting of two functional officials for social rehabilitation from the Social Affairs Office, one section head from the Community Police Unit, one shelter manager, and one community member selected through purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews and field observations over a seven-day period. Research data included Banyumas Regency Regulation No. 16 of 2015 as well as BVH statistical data from the publication Banyumas in Figures for the 2020–2024 period. Analysis utilized William N. Dunn’s policy evaluation framework and Edwards III’s (1980) implementation model. Results indicate that implementation remains dominated by a temporary repressive approach, while rehabilitation efforts are limited due to resource constraints and insufficient service capacity. Policy performance is also influenced by weak inter-agency governance, particularly structural fragmentation, communication barriers, and the absence of integrated technical regulations.Meningkatnya jumlah Pengemis, Gelandangan, dan Orang Terlantar (PGOT) di Kabupaten Banyumas menunjukkan keterbatasan kebijakan kesejahteraan sosial dalam menangani permasalahan secara berkelanjutan. Penelitian terdahulu cenderung menitikberatkan aspek penertiban, pengendalian, atau rehabilitasi secara parsial, sementara evaluasi kebijakan yang mengintegrasikan kinerja implementasi dan tata kelola antarinstansi daerah masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi efektivitas, kecukupan, responsivitas, dan perataan kebijakan penanganan PGOT periode 2020–2024 serta menganalisis tata kelola antara Dinas Sosial dan Satuan Polisi Pamong Praja. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus di Kecamatan Purwokerto Selatan yang dipilih karena tingginya mobilitas masyarakat dan intensitas PGOT. Informan berjumlah lima orang, terdiri dari dua pejabat fungsional rehabilitasi sosial Dinas Sosial, satu kepala seksi Satpol PP, satu pengelola rumah singgah, dan satu anggota masyarakat yang dipilih purposive. Pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam dan observasi lapangan selama tujuh hari. Data penelitian meliputi Peraturan Daerah Kabupaten Banyumas Nomor 16 Tahun 2015 serta data statistik PGOT dalam publikasi Banyumas dalam Angka periode 2020–2024. Analisis menggunakan kerangka evaluasi kebijakan William N. Dunn dan model implementasi Edwards III (1980). Hasil menunjukkan implementasi masih didominasi pendekatan represif temporer, sedangkan rehabilitasi terbatas akibat keterbatasan sumber daya dan kapasitas layanan. Kinerja kebijakan juga dipengaruhi lemahnya tata kelola antarinstansi, terutama fragmentasi struktural, kendala komunikasi, dan belum tersedianya regulasi teknis terintegrasi.
