Abstract

The refractive index of a solution is a very important characteristic parameter and several related parameters such as temperature, concentration, etc., can be estimated from it. The index of refraction of a substance is a measure of the speed of light in liquid compared to when in air. Refractive index is one of the parameters used to determine the quality of cooking oil. This study aims to determine the value of the refractive index of packaged cooking oil and bulk cooking oil, to compare the quality of packaged cooking oil and bulk cooking oil with the parameter of refractive index and to determine the effectiveness of testing the quality of cooking oil using the refractive index. The method used in this research is the experimental method, namely the refraction method using a parallel plan. From the experiment, it was found that the refractive index of packaged cooking oil is greater than that of bulk cooking oil. The refractive index of packaged cooking oil is 1,483 ± 0,044; while in bulk cooking oil 1,379 ± 0,024. This shows that the quality of packaged cooking oil is better than the quality of bulk cooking oil. The results obtained show that the use of the refractive index as a measure of the quality of cooking oil is considered effective. Abstract

Pengetahuan yang diperoleh siswa dari kegiatan pembelajaran fisika pada dasarnya terdiri dari konsep-konsep. Untuk menilai sejauh mana pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep fisika, diperlukan suatu kegiatan evaluasi. Salah satu alat evaluasi yang digunakan untuk menggambarkan konsep-konsep siswa adalah peta konsep. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan desain One Shot Case Study. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes, observasi, dan lembar angket tanggapan siswa. Melalui uji efektivitas dengan one sample t-test, ditemukan bahwa instrumen evaluasi peta konsep dikategorikan sebagai efektif dalam mencapai KKM. Selain itu, melalui uji regresi linier sederhana, terungkap bahwa aktivitas siswa berpengaruh terhadap penguasaan konsep. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penerapan instrumen evaluasi peta konsep pada materi tekanan dapat memberikan gambaran penguasaan konsep siswa di tingkat SMA.

Abstract

Abstrak Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui mengapa kapal dapat terapung dan juga tenggelam, faktor yang menjadi penyebab kapal tenggelam di Waduk Kedung Ombo, dan untuk mengetahui cara untuk mencegah terjadinya kapal tenggelam. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah metode kualitatif dokumen. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa: 1. Kapal dapat terapung di atas permukaan air jika gaya berat (W) sama dengan gaya apung (Fa). Kemudian kapal juga dapat tenggelam jika nilai gaya berat (W) lebih besar dari gaya apung (Fa). 2. Faktor yang dapat menyebabkan kapal tenggelam adalah massa penumpang atau orang yang sangat besar sehingga menyebabkan nilai gaya berat (W) semakin besar pula sehingga nilai gaya berat (W) tidak sama dengan gaya apung (Fa) atau nilai W > Fa. 3. Supaya kapal tidak tenggelam maka massa penumpang atau orang harus kurang dari gaya apung atau nilai W < Fa, sehingga kapal bisa terapung atas permukaan air.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan bagaimana hukum Newton III yang menyatakan bahwa setiap aksi memiliki reaksi yang sebanding tetapi berlawanan diterapkan pada kapal otok-otok. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif yaitu berupa uji coba eksperimen pada kapal otok-otok. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aksi yang bekerja pada kapal otok-otok yaitu ketika air yang sudah dimasukkan ke dalam pipa kecil pada kapal otok-otok lalu diberi api dan menghasilkan uap mengakibatkan adanya dorongan ke belakang, mendorong air ke arah yang berlawanan. Reaksi yang dihasilkan adalah sebagai respons, kapal akan bergerak ke depan. Reaksi ini sebanding dengan aksi dorongan tekanan uap yang dihasilkan, tetapi berlawanan arah.

Abstract

Students' physics problem-solving skill is still low, especially in physics problems related to everyday life, not simple quantitative problems. This is because the learning modules used today still do not invite students to solve real problems around them related to physics. This study aims to test the feasibility of the E-Module with a flipbook view which was developed to improve students' problem-solving skills on the material of reflection and refraction of light. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with a 4-D development model. The stages of E-Module development in this research are only the define, design, and development stages. The research instrument was in the form of an E-Module feasibility test questionnaire via google form which was tested by 50 prospective physics teacher students. The results showed that the feasibility level of the developed E-Module was within the very feasible criteria. Thus, the developed E-Module is very feasible to improve students' problem-solving skills and can proceed to the broad trial stages.

Abstract

This article proposes a meta-analysis using a quantitative approach to evaluate the effectiveness of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) in enhancing the understanding of physics concepts. By summarizing findings from 19 studies conducted in various countries, grade levels, and educational levels, this article aims to provide a comprehensive insight into the extent to which PjBL can be an effective learning approach. The analysis results reveal a diversity of effect sizes, with some studies indicating a positive impact and others indicating challenges in implementing PjBL. Moderator analysis highlights significant differences between studies conducted in Asia and Non-Asia, as well as at specific grade levels. Despite varying results, overall, PjBL can be considered effective in improving the understanding of physics concepts. By exploring recommendations and implications from this analysis, this article contributes to the development of the PjBL approach in the context of physics education in the future.

Abstract

Ketika bermain trampoline tanpa disadari semakin keras kita mendorong atau menolak karet trampoline menggunakan kaki maka semakin tinggi lompatan kita. Mengapa hal ini dapat terjadi? Berdasarkan penelitian hal ini disebabkan oleh gaya pegas pada karet trampoline dan koefisien restitusi yang terjadi atara benda dengan trampoline. Trampoline memberikan tekanan saat melompat, pegas tersebut akan menyimpan dan mengembalikan energy saat mendarat pada trampoline, memungkinkan memberikan gaya tolak untuk melompat lebih tinggi dan merasa ringan. Koefisien restitusi suatu benda dapat diselidiki dengan menganalisis ketinggian pada lompatan pertama dan lompatan kedua pada saat bermain trampoline (????=√). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimental dengan pengamatan seseorang yang bermain trampoline kemudian dilakukan pengambilan video dan analisis menggunakan aplikasi Tracker.

Abstract

Students' understanding of Basic Physics concepts regarding Kinematics has different levels of understanding according to the entry route. This research aims to determine the comparison of understanding of Basic Physics concepts regarding Kinematics based on student entry points at the Department of Physics Education. The type of research used is experimental research. The sample used was 34 undergraduate students majoring in Physics Education who were chosen randomly. The research instrument used was a questionnaire with four multiple choice questions. Data collection techniques use Google Forms which are shared in class groups. The data obtained were analyzed using CRI (Certainty of Response Index) and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The research results show that there are differences in understanding of Basic Physics concepts based on entry route

Abstract

Learning motivation is important to support successful learning. This article discusses the analysis of high school learning motivation and the development of a learning motivation assessment instrument. This is due to the lack of instrument development based on case studies. It used a case study-based instrument developed with the 4D model. The study results show that the developed learning motivation assessment instrument is valid and reliable. Through this instrument, students' motivation to learn physics can be classified into low, medium, and high. Through analysis, the treatment of each group can be seen so that learning motivation can increase. At the low level, it can be increased by varying learning models, learning resources, and learning media. While for the second level, namely the average, it needs to be increased again by building more intense communication with students. For the highest level, it can be in the form of learning with more interesting learning resources and physics assignments.

Abstract

Technological advances encourage the advancement of various aspects of life, including education. This era is synonymous with instant and visual things. So, in order to keep up with the times, the teaching materials used must be able to adjust to the characteristics of current students. Physics students find it difficult to understand Lagrange's mechanical material. Thus, research was carried out to develop 3D-based e-book teaching materials and contextual videos on Lagrange mechanics material which is expected to improve the thinking skills of physics students related to Lagrange mechanics. The method carried out is RnD with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). But. The research only focuses on the Analysis, Design, and Development stages. In addition, a feasibility test was carried out from Physics Education practitioners and 10 samples of Physics Education students. The results obtained show that 3D-based e-book teaching materials and contextual videos are feasible to be used to improve students' understanding of Lagrange mechanics material.
