Abstract

Abstract This research is about the relationship of parent’s knowledge about sexual health of children 7-12 years with the attitudes of parent’s in prevention of sexual abuse was conducted in 5 public elementary school in Sukajadi District Pekanbaru with 369 parent’s as respondents. The purpose of this research was to determine the relationship of parent’s knowledge about sexual health of children 7-12 years with the attitudes of parent’s in prevention of sexual abuse. This research was descriptive correlation research with cross sectional approach. The samples were taken used cluster sampling technique. The data taken by questionnaire that has been composed by researcher that already tested for validity and reliability. The analysis used chi-square test. The results showed a relationship between parent’s knowledge about sexual health of children 7-12 years with  the attitudes of parent’s in prevention of sexual abuse (p value 0,043 < α 0,05). This research recommends to health workers to keep conduct health promotion for increase parent’s knowledge about sexual health to prevent child sexual abuse. Abstract

  The is study aims to determine the relationship between position, period of employment and family support with the motivation to continue their study to undergraduate level. This study uses the description of correlation with cross-sectional. The number of sample is 62 respondents drawn using random sampling techniques. Instrument used was a questionnaire with 20 statements. The analysis method uses the chi-square statistical test with a significance level of p <α (0.05). The statistical test result obtains p value for positions is 0.349, p value of years 0.090, and family support p value = 0.709 > α = 0.05, it can be concluded that there is no significant relationship between position, period of employment, and family support with the motivation to continue their education to undergraduate level. It is Expected the nurses should seek to increase knowledge and skills through formal and non-formal education, in order to achieve improve their qualities to provide nursing services. Abstract

The purpose of  this research is to determine the relationship between family’s support and coping mechanisms of diabetes mellitus patients at Arifin Achmad Hospital. Methodology on this research is a descriptive correlative with cross sectional approach. The number of sample is 30 respondents who is take by convenience sampling (accidental sampling) technique. The measurement tool of this research is questionnaire which consist of 18 questionnaire of family’s support  and 19 questionnaire of coping mechanims.This research use Chi-Square test as bivariate analysis. The results of this research shows 11 respondents (36,7%) have high level of family’s support and have adaptive coping mechanisms and 6 respondents (20% ) with maladaptive coping mechanisms. The results also show 3 respondents (10%) have low level of family’s support with adaptive coping mechanisms,and 10 respondents (33,3%) have maladaptive coping mechanisms. The results of Chi-Square test get p value 0,058 > 0,05, it means that there is no relationship between family’s support and coping mechanisms of patient with diabetes mellitus in Arifin Achmad Hospital Pekanbaru. It is suggested to health care provider to pay attention to patients health’s condition not only in physical aspect but also in pyschology. Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the relationship between family support and the level of stress patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. This research method using descriptive correlation design with the cross-sectional approach. The study is conducted at Arifin Achmad General Hospital to 42 respondents with type 2 diabetes mellitus, taken by accidental sampling technique. Measuring instrument uses family supports questionnaire to measure the level of family support and Depression Anxiety Stress Scale questionnaire to measure the level of stress. The analytical method used is the analysis of univariate and bivariate Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. The results show that there are a relationship between family support and stress level of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus with p = 0.000 <α = 0.05. The conclusion of this study is that there a significant relationship between family support and the level of stress of patient with diabetes mellitus type 2. Based on the results of this study, the family of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus are expected to provide family support to minimize stress levels, because of low family support can increase stress levels of patients with diabetes mellitus type 2. Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the correlation between spiritual intelligence and self-image in post mastectomy breast cancer women. The research used the correlation method with cross sectional approach. It was conducted by studying 30 respondents in Surgical Oncology Polyclinic of Arifin Achmad Hospital Pekanbaru using accidental sampling technique. The research used a questionnaire consisting of 27 questions for spiritual intelligence and 15 questions for self-image which already been tested for it's validity and reliability. The analysis was bivariate analysis using Chi Square test. The results showed that there was no correlation between spiritual intelligence and self-image within post-mastectomy breast cancer patients (p value 1,000 > 0,05). The results of this research is suggested to be used by the hospitals to improve their quality of service and procedure by using a holistic approach, which mean to observe the post-mastectomy patients from the biological, psychological, social and spiritual point of view so that negative self-image can be prevented. Abstract

Thalassemia is a chronic disease in children that causes the children to underwent hospitalization for at least one month in a year, and routine treatment for a long time. Physical and psychological change in children with thalassemia cause dependence children with family especially mothers and can affect the quality of life of children with thalassemia. The aim of this research is to assess the relationship between coping strategy of mother with quality of life of children with thalassemia. A descriptive design was conducted through cross-sectional correlation. The sampling technique was incidental sampling with consist of 30 respondents. The instrument of this study based on a standard questionnaire coping strategy (way of coping) and questionnaire pediatric quality of life inventory (PedsQL). The data were analyzed by using univariate about describes the characteristics of respondents and bivariate describes the relationship of two variables with fisher test. The results of this study indicate that approximately (76,2%) mothers using problem focused coping strategies have children with normal life quality and around (77,8%) of mothers using emotion focused coping strategies have children with quality of life at risk. The statistic result show that, there were relationship of coping strategy of Mother with quality of life of children thalasemia (p 0,013 <α 0,05). This study recommend to nurses in providing nursing care not only focus on treating thalassemia disease in children, but also can overcome the psychological impact of mother who become the main caregiver in the process of treatment and care of children with thalassemia, so that an optimal nursing care can be provided.Keywords: coping strategy, quality of life, thalassemia

Abstract

Online game is a cyberspace game site connected by the internet network. An addiction to online games can cause a tremendous amount of consequences to the gamer such as forgot sleep, eat, and rest. This research aimed to determine the relationship between online game addiction with sleep quality of adolescence. This research used descriptive correlational design with cross sectional approach. This research was conducted on 70 samples at Junior High School 13 Pekanbaru used proportional stratified random sampling technique. The measuring tool used modified questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. The data analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis to found the relationship between two variables studied using Chi-Square statistical test. The result of the research showed there was relationship between the online game addiction with sleep quality in adolescence with p value (0,002)< (0,05). This research expected to community especially adolescence to blame and control themselves in playing online game in attempt to avoid the impact on sleep quality of adolescence. Abstract

The parenting type is a way for developing adolescent mental emotional health. The purpose of this research was to determine the relationship between parenting type and adolescent mental emotional problem in SMK Negeri 2 Pekanbaru with non experimental research design with cross sectional method. Samples of this research involving 94 respondent that selective based on inclusion criteria using proportionate stratified random sampling technique. This research used parental authority questionnaire for parenting type variable and self-reporting questionnaire for mental emotional problem variable. This reaseach use univariat analysis to know about distribution of frequency and bivariat analysis to know about the correlation between two variables by using chi-square test. The result of this research showed that from 26 respondent with permissive parenting, 7 respondent (26,9%) do not have mental emotional problem and 19 respondent (73,1%) have mental emotional problem, 41 respondent with authoritarian parenting, 13 respondent (31,7%) have no mental emotional problem and 28 respondent (68,3%) have mental emotional problem, 27 respondent with demokratis parenting 18 respondent (66,7%) have no mental emotional problem and 9 respondent (37,3%) have mental emotional problem. Chi-square result shows p value (0,004) < alpha (0,05), which means that there was a relationship between parenting type and mental emotional problem in adolescent in SMK Negeri 2 Pekanbaru. Based on this research, it is suggested to the parents to use democratic parenting type in caring and educating adolescent.   Keywords: Adolescents, mental emotional problem, parenting type.

Abstract

Abstract Caring is an interpersonal relationship between nurse and patient in providing nursing care. The ICU nurses must have a caring attitude to provide quality nursing care so that patient and family satisfaction can be achieved.This study aims to determine the patient's family perceptions about the behavior of the nurses caring Mandau District Hospital ICU waiting room 2016. The design is descriptive with survey techniques, in which the data collection is done by using a questionnaire. The analysis is univariate analysis. The results showed that 21 out of 30 respondents (70%) have the perception  that  the ICU nurses have good behaviour and 9 respondents (30%) have a poor perception. Suggestion, based on the result it is suggested  to nurses increase nursing care by constantly reminding among nurses while performing nursing care.Keywords: Caring, Families Patients, Nurses and Family Perception
