Abstract

Language contact that occurs in multilingual communities causes various linguistic events. This is one of the language shift events that occurred in the village of Dolok Kahean. In this case, a person or group of people abandons their first language or guyup language and switches to using a second language. Language Shift in the Community of Dolok Kahean Village, Simalungun Regency aims to show how language is used in this community in several age groups, namely children, teenagers and adults. The type of research used by researchers is qualitative. Based on data on the form of use of Javanese and Indonesian using data from the community of Dolok Kahean Village, Simalungun Regency, obtained using the listening method, namely listening to language use. Next, using the conversation method (interview), namely conducting conversations and contact between the researcher and the informant in the case of the language shift phenomenon, it was found that Javanese, which is the common language of the people of Dolok Kahean Village, Simalungun Regency, experienced a heavy shift. Adults, who still use Javanese actively, show dominant use of Indonesian in the form of language they use. Even though teenagers are able to understand Javanese, they no longer use Javanese actively, while children in Dolok Kahean village find it very difficult to understand Javanese and are no longer able to use Javanese. Another indication is the existence of the Indonesian language which should have replaced the existence of the Javanese language by Indonesian. This is very clearly seen by the passiveness of the children in Dolok Kahea village in using Indonesian.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze BIPA teaching materials by including the local culture of North Sumatra. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques include documentation and data sources from BIPA teaching materials which include the local culture of North Sumatra. The data analysis technique uses the concept of Prastowo theory. The results of this research are BIPA teaching materials with Angkola Batak ethnic culture really help foreign language speakers in understanding Indonesian with the cultural nuances of the Angkola Batak ethnic tribe. This can be seen from the material which is prepared systematically and structured.

Abstract

"Hukuman Terbaik" by Dyah Wahyuningsih is a short story that contains social criticism of the rampant betrayal that begins with a struggle. The purpose of this research is to describe the intrinsic structure and genetic structure of the short story "Hukuman Terbaik" by Dyah Wahyuningsih. This research was conducted using descriptive qualitative research method with the help of structuralism study approach. The findings show that structurally the short story "Hukuman Terbaik" has complete intrinsic elements such as theme, character and characterisation, plot, setting, time setting, social setting, and point of view. Meanwhile, the genetic structure found is such as humanitarian facts and the author's worldview. The human facts in this short story illustrate the social reality between Samiran and other additional characters that build strength in conveying the current state of life of Samiran. The author's worldview focuses on criticism of the reality, according to which the depiction of punishment through dialogue or expressions delivered is ultimately to convey the appropriate punishment for a traitor. Abstract

This study attempted to examine the readability of Indonesian textbooks for grade IX of the 2013 Revised edition. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with observation technique. That is by direct observation on the discourse data that will be used as research material. The source of data in this study is in the form of written sources, namely in class IX textbooks. The data collected will be analyzed in accordance with the symptoms assessed in the study and then described. Each of the three parts of the discourse is sampled in the amount of 100 words from the total. Furthermore, it is determined the number of sentences in each sample described To estimate a readability there are many formulas that can be used, for example the Fry and Raygor graph formulas. Both look similar because they require similar data but there are still differences between them. Based on the results of the above research, it can be seen that the readability of textbooks, especially Indonesian textbooks for grade IX of the 2013 Revised edition, is at the readability level of 7-8. This indicates that at this approximate level, students can understand the textbook reading. This means that literacy problems continue to take root. So that improving literacy in the younger generation continues to be a special concern in finding the right improvement method. Keyboard: Raygor, textbook, Frygor, readability, discourse

Abstract

The introduction of the Merdeka Curriculum as the latest innovation in the Indonesian education system marks a paradigmatic change that aims to provide greater opportunities for students to develop their potential holistically. In this context, the quality and relevance of Indonesian language textbooks are crucial in supporting the learning process. This study uses qualitative analysis to evaluate the quality and relevance of Indonesian language textbooks in the Merdeka Curriculum. The results of the analysis show significant differences between evaluation approaches in textbooks from various publishers. In addition, this study highlights the importance of diversity, inclusiveness and relevance of learning materials in textbooks. The findings confirm the importance of in-depth and objective assessment of Indonesian language textbooks to ensure they meet quality and relevance standards in supporting national education goals. With a better understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the textbooks in use, concrete steps can be taken to improve the quality of student learning and prepare them to face the challenges of an increasingly complex and dynamic world. Abstract

The curriculum is a set of plans and arrangements regarding the objectives of the content of learning materials and the methods used as learning guidelines. The Merdeka curriculum has been implemented since the outbreak of Covid-19 which occurred in 2020, which had a negative impact on the learning and education process in Indonesia. The Independent Curriculum has become a major concern in the world of education today. The research method used in this research is a qualitative research method which can help to gain an in-depth understanding of the effect of implementing the Merdeka curriculum on increasing student learning achievement. The main aim of this research is to evaluate the effect of implementing the Merdeka curriculum on increasing student learning achievement. The results obtained through this research are that the implementation of the Independent curriculum has a positive influence on increasing student learning achievement with a number of advantages from implementing the Independent curriculum. Thus, this research provides a basis for developing a more effective and relevant curriculum to improve student learning achievement in the future.

This research aims to determine (1) the suitability of the content, (2) the suitability of the language, and (3) the suitability of presenting the Indonesian language textbook, namely "Cakap Bahasa dan Bersastra Indonesia" published by Yudhistira for class X SMA/MA/SMK students. The type of research used in this research is qualitative descriptive research. The research instruments used in this research are indicators from the observed aspects which include the appropriateness of the material, language and presentation of the textbook. The data collection technique used is the note-taking technique. The data analysis techniques used consist of identifying, classifying, interpreting and concluding. The results of this research prove that the textbook “Cakap Berbahasa dan Bersastra Indonesia” published by Yudhistira for class the current independent curriculum, especially for class X students.

Abstract

This research aims to determine (1) the appropriateness of the content, (2) the appropriateness of the language, and (3) the graphics of the Indonesian language student textbook for the 2013 Curriculum Revised Edition for Class XI SMA/MA/SMK/MAK published by Grafindo Media Pratama. The type of research used in this research is qualitative descriptive research. The research instruments used in this research are indicators from the observed aspects which include the appropriateness of the material, language and graphics. The data collection technique used is the note-taking technique. The data analysis techniques used consist of identifying, classifying, interpreting and concluding. The results of this research prove that the revised edition of the 2013 Curriculum Indonesian language student textbook for Class XI SMA/MA/SMK/MAK published by Grafindo Media Pratama for class text and is good for use to support Indonesian language learning in the 2013 curriculum which is still used in several schools, especially for class XI students.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the comparison of the appropriateness of the contents of textbooks for Class X Indonesian language students at SMA/MA/SMK/MAK published by Yudhistira and the Ministry of Education and Culture. The type of research used in this research is qualitative descriptive research. The research instrument used in this research is the indicators contained in the observed aspects of the suitability of the material, including the suitability of the material to learning outcomes. Accuracy of the material and supporting learning materials. The data analysis techniques used consist of identifying, classifying, interpreting and concluding. The results of this research prove that the Indonesian language student textbooks for Class Both books have a suitable portion to be used to support Indonesian language learning in the independent curriculum in schools, especially for class X students.

Abstract

This research aims to design syntax in literature learning using the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model at UPT SMP Negeri 17 Medan. This research focuses on the effectiveness of applying PjBL syntax in improving students' literary understanding, critical thinking skills and creativity. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. Research findings reveal that the application of the PjBL model in literature learning has a positive impact on student engagement and in-depth understanding of literary material. Project-based evaluations also help students develop collaboration and communication skills. Systematic implementation of PjBL syntax provides a clear and effective learning structure, thereby improving the overall quality of learning.
