Abstract

This study aims to obtain information about: (1) differences in learning outcomes between students who study using the ARIAS learning model and students who learn using direct learning (DL); (2) differences in learning outcomes between students who have high creativity and students who have low creativity; and (3) whether the relationship between the use of learning models and learning outcomes in continental food processing is influenced by students' creativity. This experimental study was conducted using a 2 x 2 factorial design, with the moderator variable being students' creativity. In the experiment, the separation of the level of student creativity was not carried out significantly. Students are called to have high creativity, if they have a score higher or equal to the median group (ian median), while students are called to have low creativity, if they have a score less than or below the median (<median) group. The study was conducted in class XI Hospitality 1 by applying the ARIAS learning model, and class XI Hospitality 2 by applying DL. The study found that: (1) students who studied using the ARIAS learning model obtained significantly higher cognitive, affective and psychomotor learning outcomes than students who studied using DL; (2) students who have high creativity, obtain significantly higher cognitive, affective and psychomotor learning outcomes than students who have low creativity; and (3) the relationship between the use of learning models and learning outcomes in continental food processing is influenced by student creativity.

Abstract

Petani di desa Tanggaran sering dirugikan karena tanaman padi diserang hama wereng. Penggunaan pestisida sintetik seperti kabofuran telah banyak memberikan dampak negatif terhadap manusia, maka dari itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan ekstrak daun Tephrosia vogelii dengan pelarut etil asetat sebagai bionsektisida yang ramah lingkungan dalam mengatasi hama wereng (N. lugens) pada tanaman padi. Pada penelitian ini, pengujian dilakukan dengan metode residu pada bibit padi berumur kurang lebih 2 minggu atau 14 hari. Pengujian dilakukan pada 4 macam konsentrasi larutan berbeda yaitu 0 mg/L (sebagai kontrol), 10 mg/L, 100 mg/L, dan 1000 mg/L. Pengujian dilakukan dengan 2 kali pengulangan (duplo). Parameter yang diamati adalah mortalitas hama wereng (N. lugens). Hasil pengujian menunjukkan rata-rata mortalitas hama wereng dari konsentrasi ekstrak paling kecil berturut-turut adalah 6.6667%, 28.5714%, 46.4286%, dan 93,3333%. Analisis diolah menggunakan perhitungan LC50 (analisis probit) dengan metode persamaan garis linier pada aplikasi Microsoft Office Exel. Berdasarkan perhitungan, nilai LC50 diperoleh sebesar 1,8148 mg/L. Artinya nilai LC50 ekstrak daun T. vogelii berada pada tingkat toksisitas sangat toksik.

Abstract

Susu sapi merupakan sumber pangan yang memiliki sumber gizi lengkap, namun daya simpan yang singkat karena tidak adanya bahan penguat membuatnya pekat terhadap bau amis dan mengakibatkan mual. Keju rendah lemak sebagai inovasi dalam penguatan ketahanan pangan susu. Keju merupakan produk hasil fermentasi dengan susu sebagai bahan dasar yang memiliki beraneka macam tekstur, rasa, dan bentuk. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi dan pelatihan dalam mengolah susu sapi menjadi produk keju rendah lemak terhadap Pekerja Migran Indonesia untuk meningkatkan taraf wirausaha dengan nilai jual yang tinggi. Kegiatan mencakup pemaparan materi pelatihan, pendampingan praktek, dan diakhiri dengan refleksi serta pemberian angket. Dengan pelatihan ini pengetahuan dan keterampilan PMI meningkat, baik yang jarang bahkan belum pernah mengikuti pelatihan serupa dan memiliki keinginan kuat untuk merintis usaha.

Abstract

An investigation on synthesis of potassium ferrate and its applicationin degradation of Blue direct 2B. The purpose of this research is to studydegradation influence of optimal pH and optimal Molar ratio from kaliumferrat for degradation blue direct 2B. The investigation were performed withsynthesis and characterization of potassium ferrat before it was reacted withblue direct 2B.The result a kuantity of reaction was followed by UV-Visspectrophotometry. pH for research is 9 – 10 and molar ratio of kaliumferrat : blue direct 2B is 1 : 1 – 5 : 1.From the research, the stability of kalium ferrat for degradation bluedirect 2B in the optimal pH 9,6 and the optimal molar ratio ferrat : bluedirect 2B in 1 : 1 – 5 : 1 the result of degradation is 96,32% after 30minutes. It kown if the wavelength shift from 610 nm to 298,80 nm, so thecolour of solvent change from blue-green to yellow transparent (until notcoloured). It conclused if the wavelength or the colour change is showchange of compound structure it consequenced of degradation withpotassium ferrat.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of ultrasonic-assisted extraction (UAE) and solvent extraction (SE) on keratin recovery from duck feathers using sodium sulfide-based ionic liquids under different pH conditions. The results showed that SE at acidic pH (pH=3) achieved the highest yield (92%), whereas UAE showed lower recovery (28%) under mildly acidic conditions (pH=5). Spectroscopic and electrophoretic analyses using FTIR confirmed the β-sheet structure with characteristic peaks at 3400 cm−1 (O–H and N–H stretching) and 1660 cm−1 (C=O stretching). Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate Polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis analysis (SDS-PAGE) revealed protein bands in the 15–25 kDa range, typical of β-keratin, with higher intensity in SE. Morphological analysis using SEM revealed finer and more homogeneous particles for UAE, while SE produced denser aggregates. Thermal analysis revealed two main degradation stages, occurring at 0–100 °C and 250–500 °C, with UAE samples exhibiting lower residual mass (5.46%) than SE (8.65%). Particle size analysis showed UAE samples had larger but more uniformly distributed particles. XRD results confirmed semi-crystalline structures, with UAE increasing amorphous content and SE maintaining crystallinity. These findings highlight the complementary advantages for tailoring keratin properties toward diverse applications.

Abstract

Kota Batu merupakan bagian dari Provinsi JawaTimur. Dusun Brau terletak di Kecamatan Bumiaji Kota Batu pada ketinggian 1000 mdpl, suhu rata-rata harian 18-25 °C dengan bentang wilayah berupa perbukitan dengan kontur tanah yang subur. Ketersediaan pakan hijauan yang memadai sebagian besar warga Dusun Brau Desa Gunungsari menyandarkan penghasilan untuk kebutuhan hidupnya dengan membudidayakan sapi perah. Hasil utama budidaya sapi perah adalah produk susunya, dengan salah satu hasil samping berupa limbah peternakan yaitu kotoran sapi. Pada tahun 2023, tim PKM telah melatihkan kepada warga usaha untuk meningkatkan nilai ekonomi kotoran sapi dengan menjadikannya pupuk cair. Selama satu tahun ke belakang, hasil pembuatan pupuk cair digunakan oleh warga untuk sawah atau kebun mereka. Dengan mempertimbangkan kemampuan warga yang masih kurang dalam menghasilkan produk yang siap jual, tim PKM telah menyusun skala prioritas yang harus segera diupayakan penyelesaiannya melalui program PKM Kebijakan Fakultas MIPA Tahun 2024 ini, yaitu: 1) banyaknya pupuk cair yang mampu dihasilkan oleh warga; 2) pupuk cair masih dimanfaatkan secara pribadi; dan 3) rendahnya pengetahuan mitra mengenai managemen usaha pupuk cair. Solusi dari permasalahan tersebut adalah melakukan introduksi pengemasan dan labelling produk pupuk cair. Kata Kunci: Brau; limbah peternakan; dan pengemasan produk

Abstract

Indonesia recorded the highest dengue mortality rate in Asia in 2022, with 45,387 cases and 432 deaths.  This study aimed to investigate the coexistence of arboviruses and insecticide resistance mechanisms in Aedes vectors mosquitos’ populations in Mulyorejo District, Surabaya, during the early monsoon season of 2021. A cross-sectional survey was conducted in January 2021, and Aedes larvae were collected and reared to adulthood under laboratory conditions. A total of 309 Aedes larvae (comprising 65% Aedes aegypti and 35% Aedes albopictus) were collected from 36 breeding sites, identified, and georeferenced using QGIS software. RNA extraction and RT-PCR assays were performed to detect Dengue virus (DENV), Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV), West Nile virus (WNV), and knockdown resistance (KDR) mutations. Results showed seven samples positive for DENV-2 and seven for JEV, with two samples (codes 9 and 12) exhibiting co-infection with both viruses, while no WNV was detected. The detection of JEV in Aedes larvae is a notable finding, suggesting a potential secondary vector role for these species in the study area, as Culex mosquitoes are the primary vectors of JEV. Mutations at codons 1016 (V1016G) and 1534 (F1534C), associated with pyrethroid and DDT resistance, were detected in eight and seven samples, respectively. These findings confirm the circulation of DENV-2 and JEV in local Aedes populations, highlighting the presence of KDR mutations that confer insecticide resistance. The results underscore the urgent need for integrated vector management in Surabaya, combining arbovirus surveillance, insecticide resistance monitoring, and community-based source reduction to mitigate arboviral disease transmission.
