Abstract

This research aims to develop and evaluate a stakeholder engagement model in development planning in Bina Baru village, Sidenreng Rappang Regency through the ‘Ladda-Ladda’ approach. The model aims to improve community participation and coordination between the government and the community in the village development planning process. Qualitative research methods were used, with participant observation and in-depth interviews as the main data collection techniques. Data analysis was conducted through thematic coding to identify patterns and emerging themes related to stakeholder engagement. The research findings show that the implementation of the ‘Ladda-Ladda’ model has succeeded in increasing the active participation of the community, which is reflected in their increased involvement in expressing their aspirations and participating in village deliberations. This strengthens social relations and trust between the community and the government, resulting in a more relevant and inclusive development plan. Theoretically, this study contributes to the literature on village development by integrating the concepts of community participation and coordination theory into a model that can be applied in different villages. However, this study has limitations in generalizing the results because the study was conducted in only one village. In addition, the implementation of this model requires significant time and resources, especially in building community participation capacity. Further research is needed to test the effectiveness of this model in a broader context and to develop more efficient strategies for its implementation.

Abstract

Geothermal silica waste offers convenient, economical, and environmentally friendly material with high hydrophobicity to produce thin films. Silica-thin films from geothermal waste using the sol-gel method, though, no addition of AgNO3 was conducted for antibacterial functions. This study aims to produce silica-thin films from geothermal waste with the addition of AgNO3 and analyze the antibacterial activity. The procedures carried out in this research were (i) an acid leaching process using HNO3; (ii) the production of silica thin film with and without the addition of AgNO3; (iii) thin film characterization including a water contact angle measurement (WCA), XRF, FTIR, XRD and SEM-EDX on silica thin film samples with and without the addition of AgNO3; and (iv) antibacterial activity test. The results show the optimum HNO3 concentration for the acid leaching process was 20%, yielding 99.08% SiO2 by mass. The WCA of the silica thin film in the presence and absence of AgNO3 reached a value of ±160°, indicating the addition of AgNO3 did not decrease the contact angle of the silica thin film. This research employed smart deconvolution of IR Spectra using Fityk software which reveals a higher area ratio for Si-O-Si relative to Si-OH. Furthermore, it was observed that the silica thin films exhibited an amorphous morphology, both without and with the addition of AgNO3, with Ag discovered to be dispersed on the thin film. However, despite the presence of Ag, both TF20 and TF20+Ag samples were found to be ineffective in inhibiting bacterial growth, as evidenced by bacteria-free zones on the samples.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between kitchen layout and the level of employee work productivity at Senja Café & Resto. The research is motivated by the importance of kitchen spatial design in supporting the smooth operation of restaurant activities. Inappropriate space arrangement, inefficient equipment placement, and unstructured workflow have the potential to hinder performance and increase employees’ physical workload. This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational research design to determine the relationship between kitchen layout as the primary factor under investigation and employee productivity as the observed outcome. Data were collected through questionnaires and direct observation involving all 15 kitchen employees. After the research instruments were confirmed to be valid and reliable, the data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Spearman Rank correlation test. The findings reveal a positive and significant relationship between a well-organized kitchen layout and increased employee productivity. An ergonomic kitchen design, balanced distances between work areas, and a well-structured workflow were proven to help accelerate task completion, reduce fatigue, and create a more comfortable working environment. Conversely, poorly planned layouts and limited movement space may decrease employee work effectiveness. Therefore, improving the kitchen layout can serve as an effective strategy for management to enhance operational efficiency, speed up customer service processes, and strengthen business competitiveness. Furthermore, this study is expected to serve as a practical reference for medium-scale culinary businesses in managing kitchens in a more structured, efficient, and ergonomically oriented manner. Keywords: kitchen layout, work productivity, ergonomics, employees, culinary business.
