Abstract

Out in a limited manner, especially in constructing small-scale buildings to improve the community's economy. However, the development was not controlled, and there was even unlicensed construction. This study aims to describe the impact of the Eto'o Tower construction process on the quality of life of the local community and explore the driving and inhibiting factors of the Eto'o Tower construction process on the community's quality of life. This type of qualitative research is based on observations of existing data in the field and data obtained from in-depth interviews asked of informants. The result presents if the environmental development impacted by construction brings partial effects, both positive (space improvement that could enhance the development and opportunity of modernization) and negative (Physical Damage and Decreasing Environmental Conditions). Despite both effects, these constructions also reflect the evidence of driving factors (government commitment, the enthusiasm of the surrounding citizen's community for participating, and the opportunity for foreign investors to invest in various sectors by adding new places) and inhibiting factors (the partial chain problems caused by the presence of illegal permits that affect the surrounding environment). Overall, government policies due to building construction activities are still lacking, so there is a need for socialization, guidance, and supervision by relevant government agencies. Abstract

Urbanization significantly transforms cities, introducing challenges affecting environmental sustainability and residents' quality of life. In urban riverbank settlements such as Kotalama, Malang City, these issues are compounded by inadequate planning, environmental degradation, and heightened disaster risks. This study investigates the relationship between living standards and quality of life in the urban riverbank settlements of Kotalama, Malang City. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected through secondary sources, including the Malang City Spatial Plan, and primary data via structured questionnaires distributed to 90 purposively sampled respondents. The analysis highlights the influence of environmental factors, housing quality, and social cohesion on residents' well-being. Regression analysis reveals a significant, albeit moderate, positive correlation between living standards and quality of life, underscoring the role of housing and infrastructure improvements in enhancing community well-being. While access to basic amenities such as water and electricity is adequate, disparities in housing quality and environmental conditions persist, affecting overall quality of life. The findings advocate for interdisciplinary strategies integrating urban planning, environmental sustainability, and participatory governance to address these challenges. This research contributes to urban sustainability discussions aligned with SDG Goal 11, promoting inclusive, resilient, and sustainable cities. Keywords: living standards, quality of life, urban riverbank, heightened disaster risk, environmental degradation

Abstract

Street vendors are one of the informal trade and services sectors that grow to meet economic needs. The urban economic dynamics of street vendors' existence invite various problems, such as utilising strategic public spaces that should not be used for selling. Six of the eight street vendor locations in the Gresik Urban Area are scattered, occupying road corridors, sidewalks, and public open spaces. This study aims to determine potential locations for relocating street vendors in the Gresik Urban Area. The spatial autocorrelation analysis method used is LISA (Local Indicator of Spatial Association) analysis. X variables include the location of residential land use, offices, tourism, and industry, which are compared with the location of street vendors as variable Y. Based on LISA analysis, the location used as a relocation recommendation is in the high-high quadrant and has a positive correlation. The results of the LISA analysis overlay between Settlement-Street vendors, Office-Street vendors, Tourism-Street vendors, and Industry-Street vendors revealed that the variables for Settlement-Street vendors and Tourism-Street vendors exhibit a positive spatial correlation. Thus, potential locations for relocating street vendors in the Gresik Urban Area are Randuagung Village and Gapurosukolilo Village.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop strategies to improve clean water distribution services in Bumdes Sumbertlaseh Village because the distribution of clean water in the village is not optimized. The analysis used the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analysis to formulate a strategy for enhancing clean water distribution services in the village. Within the SWOT analysis framework, the satisfaction level is represented by values ranging from 1 to 4, with 1 indicating low satisfaction and 4 indicating high satisfaction. The SWOT analysis concluded that clean water distribution services were in quadrant V. The appropriate strategy in this situation was market penetration and product development. In market penetration, Bumdes Sumbertlaseh Village could implement strategies such as providing additional services or enhancing the quality of existing services to retain and attract new customers. Meanwhile, in product development, Bumdes Sumbertlaseh Village could implement strategies such as constructing new pipeline networks, expanding existing networks to cover unreached areas, or improving the reliability and efficiency of existing distribution systems.

Abstract

The Cavendish banana s one of the commonly widely cultivated and commercial banana commodities in Indonesia and more than 40% of the fruit is produced worldwide. Reviewed from a market perspective, this commodity is so potential that it offers an opportunity to increase its productivity in meeting the needs of the market. The research was conducted in the village of Kuniran, Purwosari district of Bojonegoro. This research is quantitative and descriptive taking samples of 10 farmers who belonged to UD. Agro Kurnia (the population). The determination of samples used a purposive sampling method. This study aims to analyze the viability of cavendish bananas cultivated by UD. Kurnia Agros’s farmers, cover a total of 1500 trees on 1.8 ha of land. The research was carried out from August to December 2023. The data collection method uses PRA livelihood assessment tools, input and output flow charts, and garden sketches. The results of this study showed that the total expenditure of Rp. 18,210,000, farmers received a total receipt of Rp. 72,200,000 in one season. Total receipts were deducted from the total cost and the total revenue was Rp. 57,615,000.00 in one harvest season. The value of the R/C ratio was >1, which means that the total income was greater than the total costs so the cultivation of cavendish banana commodities at the village of Kuniran is very profitable and worthy of being continued and developed.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

This paper is a review of the importance of interdisciplinary reviews in assessing the cosmological aspects of architecture. Architecture is a discipline that focuses on the study of the human environment. Environment and humans are very complex objects. Studies of people and architecture need to involve other disciplines. Involving other disciplines will help the understanding of people and architecture as a cultural product. Cosmology is the key to understanding architecture, especially the architecture of pre-modern society. By analysing the substance of some theories and architectural research on cosmology obtained the conclusion that in reviewing cosmological aspects in architecture is required interdisciplinary studies because architecture is an object that needs to be viewed from many perspectives. This is due to the complexity of human beings who create and create architecture as a place of residence. Keywords: interdisciplinary, architecture, cosmology

Abstract

Banyuwangi has the largest tsunami disaster risk in East Java, about 45,305 affected people, Rp. 160,886,000,- for the risk of physical losses, Rp. 106,414,000,- for the risk of economic losses and 84 ha of environmental losses (BNPB, 2023). In addition, according to historical data, Banyuwangi was hit by tsunami on June 9, 1994 with magnitude of 7.8 which caused a maximum run up of 14.0 m and killed 238 lives (BNPB, 2023). Also based on Undang- undang No. 24 Tahun 2007 concerning Disaster Management, Indonesia should have preventive and mitigation measures for tsunami disasters both before and after as an effort to reduce the disaster risk (Putra, 2009) . Tsunami modeling in southern Java using COMCOT v1.7 as tsunami worst case scenario in Banyuwangi is the first step for mitigation. The initial results of COMCOT were then used for preparing tsunami disaster evacuation route planning based on the Tsunami Natural Disaster Evacuation Route Planning Guidelines, Dirjen Bina Marga, 2023. The final step is validation/routing survey of the 8 (eight) routes that have been determined. 2 (two) of the 8 (eight) routes fulfill the guidelines for planning tsunami mitigation routes. However, all routes can be considered due to the distribution of settlements, the number of affected residents and the number of routes needed
