Abstract

Morbidity associated with psychological problems is a major health problem experienced in postpartum period, as a risk factor for the development of serious mood disorders. Postpartum blues is a phenomenon that is difficult to detect because people regard as psychological disorders are maternal instincts. This study aims to determine the incidence of postpartum blues on postpartum mothers and their characteristics in Blora Public Health Centre. This study was a descriptive survey with cross-sectional approach. The population were mothers after 2 – 10 days of childbirth in September 2013 in Blora Public Health Centre with 70 respondents. Samples were taken by saturated sampling. The instrument was questionnaire. The results showed that 48.6% experienced on the baby blues. The risk factors were age (20-35 years 84.3%), parity (multiparous 61.43%), family inco-me (Rp500,000-Rp1.000.000,00 64.3%), job (jobless 62.9%), education (higher education 53%), family support (strongly support 91.4%), delivery type (vaginal delivery 58%), premenstrual syndrome history 58.6%, breast-feeding 100%. Based on this research, the researchers suggest midwives provide the psychological needs of mothers after childbirth and provide information about the physiological changes in postpartum period to prevent postpartum blues.

Abstract

Postpartum blues iceberg phenomenon which is difficult in detection because people still think of psychological disorders is a natural thing as a mater-nal instinct and protective attitude towards her baby. The incidence of postpartum blues is quite high at 26-85% and continues with postpartum depression with varying amounts of 5-25% after the mother gives birth.            The purpose of this study to know is there any influence of IEC (Information Education Communication) preparation for labor on the incidence of postpartum blues.            The research method with quasi experiment with post test with control group which makes it possible to compare the results of sampling diberikan.Teknik intervention by total sampling.            Results showed that respondents with age healthy reproductive 33 respondents (83%), parity primiparous and multiparous same that 20 (50%), the level of elementary education (13%), middle (38%), high school / vocational (43%), D3 / S1 (8%), job: working mothers (38%), not working (62%), treatment groups: normal (80%), postpartum blues (20%), the control group: normal (45%), postpartum blues (55%). Bivariate analysis of these studies by Mann Whitney Test results obtained pvalue = 0.024 0.005, which means there is the effect of KIE childbirth and post-partum the incidence of postpartum blues            From the results of this study are expected health workers, especially midwives need to provide IEC in third trimester pregnant women about childbirth and postpartum in order to reduce the incidence of postpartum blues

Abstract

The prevalence of perineal rupture increases every year, as a result, the greater the chance of puerperal infection in postpartum mothers. Factors that cause puerperal infection is the care of the perineal wound that is not paid attention to. One of the complementary treatments uses herbal plants made from red betel leaf (Piper crocatum) in the form of hydrogel preparations. Proving the potential of red betel leaf hydrogel (Piper crocatum) against accelerated perineal wound healing and staphylococcus aureus bacterial growth. This type of quantitative research uses a quasi-experimental method with purposive sampling, post-test design only with control group. Sampling was in accordance with the inclusion criteria with a sample size of 45 respondents, 15 control respondents, 15 respondents to intervention I with a dose of 2x1 a day and 15 respondents to intervention II with a dose of 3x1 a day. Data was obtained from the REEDA score assessment scale which was obtained from the assessment of Redness, Edema (Swelling), Eccymosis (Bleeding), Discharge (Extraction) and Approximation (Wound union) and vaginal swab samples carried out on days 3 and 7 for 7 days. The analysis used to assess variables is the Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney tests. The analysis used to assess the variables is the Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney test. Red betel leaf hydrogel intervention 2x1 a day and intervention 3x1 a day has the potential to accelerate perineal wound healing and decrease the growth of S. aureus bacteria with p-value 0.05, so it can be interpreted that there is a significant difference effect. The greatest decreasing value in reducing the REEDA score and the growth of S. aureus bacteria was the 3x1 a day intervention group, namely 4.60 and 8.74, so it can be concluded that the 3x1 intervention was more effective than the 2x1 a day intervention.
