Abstract

Mathematical reasoning and communication are essential competencies for students. This systematic review examines teaching strategies and methods that effectively enhance these competencies. This study employed a Systematic Literature Review  method following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Data were collected from the Scopus database using the keywords “Communication AND Mathematics AND Education AND Indonesia” for publications from 2016 to 2026. Of the 52 articles, 9 articles that met the inclusion criteria. This review highlights how traditional instructional approaches have evolved toward a greater emphasis on conceptual understanding and problem-solving. The main strategies discussed include Realistic Mathematics Education, Inquiry-Based Learning, collaborative learning, and technology integration. The review also explores the role of student engagement, demonstrating that active participation and intellectual involvement are key factors in developing these competencies. The findings indicate that contextual, interactive, and cognitively supported instruction is the most effective approach for fostering these competencies. The integration of reasoning and communication as interdependent competencies further emphasizes the importance of an integrated instructional approach.

Abstract

The study's goal was to see how the cooperative learning model STAD type aided by interactive learning media in terms of students' understanding of mathematical concepts in algebra material at SMP Negeri 1 Suwawa. With 25 students per class were determined using the experimental research post-test only control group design with two classes as a research sample and simple random sampling. As a result, students' ability to understand mathematical concepts in the STAD type cooperative class is higher than in the control class's direct learning model. This is demonstrated by the mean value of students' ability to understand mathematical concepts in the STAD type cooperative model class, which is 70.36 compared to 63.48 in the control class. The inferential analysis using the t test revealed that H0 was rejected because tcount = 1.916 > ttable = 1.68. To summarize, the ability of students' concepts in the STAD type cooperative model class assisted by articulate storyline media is greater than in the direct learning model class.

Abstract

The use of learning media is still limited, making students tend to be more passive during the learning process. At SMA Negeri 1 Suwawa, the learning process predominantly uses textbooks, whiteboards, LKPD, and sometimes PowerPoint. These limitations make it difficult for students to understand the material, including mathematics lessons on the material of the System of Linear Equations of Three Variables (SPLTV) which requires image visualization. With the existing problems, research was conducted by utilizing technology which aims to develop mathematics learning media using the Sparkol VideoScribe application on SPLTV material which was carried out involving 20 class X students at SMA Negeri 1 Suwawa in June. This type of research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method using the four-D development model, namely Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate. Data analysis was carried out based on expert assessments, teachers, and student responses using a Likert scale. The development assessment was carried out based on the results of three media validators as well as learning materials and obtained validation results of 77% for media and 82% for materials with criteria worth using. The results of teacher and student responses obtained an average total percentage of 98% and 85% respectively which indicates that the media used meets practical criteria. For further research, it can develop learning media that attract more students' attention in learning activities and increase the activeness of students in learning activities, especially math lessons on SPLTV material.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the improvement of student’s mathematics learning outcomes by implementhing the Guided Discovery Learning learning model on trigonometric material in grade X of SMKS (Vocational High School) Salafiyah Syafi’iyah Randangan, academic year 2023/2024. The data in this study was collected through teacher activity observation sheet, student activity observation sheet (given to 20 student), and learning outcome test. The research indicators were: the results of observation of teacher activities in managing learning activities reached at least 75%, the result of observation of student activities in receiving learning activities reached the “Active” criterion with a minimum of 75%, the result of the assessment of mathematics learning outcomes were at least 75%, and all students reached the minimum completeness criterion (75). Based on the analysis, applying the Guided Discovery Learning learning model to trigonometric material could improve students’ mathematics learning outcomes in two cycles after learning improvements were made from cycles I to II. this was marked by the escalation result of 1) observation of teacher activities in managing learning (cycle I 55,98%, and cycle II 97,06%), 2) observation of student activities during the learning process (cycle I 40%, and cycle II 93,3%), and 3) yhe average of student mathematics learning outcome (12 student or 60% in cycle I, and 18 student or 90% students completed in cycle II).

Abstract

Articulate Storyline is an ICT software that functions to create interactive audio-visual-based learning media. This application allows users to customize templates and characters as needed, making it easier for teachers to deliver material in an interesting and easy-to-understand way for students. Articulate Storyline is a useful tool for digital learning designers of all levels, from beginners to experts. In this study, the Articulate Storyline application was used to develop interactive learning media called "MatMe" on integer material for class VII SMP Negeri Tonala. This media is designed to improve students' understanding through audio-visual features that allow them to learn anytime and anywhere. This study aims to describe the process of developing the Articulate Storyline application and evaluate the "MatMe" learning media based on the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The development model used is ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The results of the study showed that the interactive learning media "MatMe" was able to improve students' reasoning skills in integer material. This media is considered valid, practical, and effective to be applied in mathematics learning, so it is worthy of being used as an alternative learning media in class VII of Tonala State Middle School. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan Elektronik Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (E-LKPD) berbasis Quizizz pada materi barisan dan deret aritmatika untuk kelas X SMK Negeri 1 Bulango Selatan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE yang meliputi tahapan: (1) Analisis, (2) Desain, (3) Pengembangan, (4) Implementasi, (5) Evaluasi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMK Negeri 1 Bulango Selatan yang berjumlah 24 orang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, angket respon siswa, angket respon guru, dan tes hasil belajar. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa E-LKPD memenuhi kriteria validitas dari segi media sebesar 84,72% (valid) dan dari segi materi sebesar 86,36% (valid). Selain itu tingkat kepraktisan oleh angket guru dan siswa sebesar 100% (sangat praktis). Selain itu, berdasarkan hasil angket efektivitas E-LKPD mencapai 83% (sangat efektif) yang berarti E-LKPD yang dikembangkan layak digunakan dan terbukti valid, praktis dan efektif.

Abstract

In the 2025–2026 academic year, this research is to assess the quality of the math exam problems on the subject of three-variable linear equation systems in the interactive e-book for grade XI at SMA Muhammadiyah Batudaa that is based on infographics.  Four primary factors were examined in the evaluation: the degree of difficulty, validity, dependability, and discriminating power.  Student response sheets from a ten-question essay test served as the data source for the quantitative descriptive methodology.  Twenty-seven XIA students served as the study's subjects.  50% of the questions had strong discriminating power, 10% were sufficient, 30% were poor, and 10% were extremely poor, according to the analysis's findings.  Thirty percent of the questions were categorized as easy, sixty percent as moderate, and ten percent as challenging.  According to validity analysis, half of the items were deemed valid and the other half were deemed invalid.  The instrument has strong internal consistency, as indicated by the reliability test findings using the Cronbach's Alpha formula, which produced a coefficient value of 0.803, falling into the very high range.  These results suggest that although incorrect or ineffective questions should be changed or replaced, valid and high-quality questions should be added to the question bank.  To guarantee fair and accurate assessment quality, regular evaluation and instrument trials are strongly advised.

Abstract

This study discusses the effect of the Problem Based Learning model on students' mathematical creative thinking skills on cube and cuboid material. The research was carried out using an experimental method involving students of SMP Negeri 3 Limboto Barat as research subjects. The research design used is Post Test Only Control Design. Sampling was carried out using the Simple Random Sampling technique. Measuring mathematical creative thinking ability is done using a test instrument that has met the requirements of item validity and instrument reliability requirements. The results showed that applying the Problem-Based Learning model in learning significantly influenced students' creative thinking skills on cube and cuboid material. This can be seen from students' mathematical creative thinking ability in learning using the Problem-Based Learning model, which is higher than students' mathematical creative thinking ability in direct learning.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of the think pair share type cooperative learning model assisted by educational videos on student learning outcomes in relation and function material. The research was carried out in SMP Negeri 1 Suwawa in the alternate semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. The population in this study was all class VIII, totaling 83 people. The sample used was 20 students in the experimental class and 20 students in the control class. The research results show a significant difference in the average learning outcomes of students who study using the think pair share cooperative learning model, which is higher than the direct learning model.
