Abstract

This study focused on students' learning outcomes from SMAN 2 in Bulukumba, who taught with magic cards media and twister games media, and the differences between the two. This quasi-experimental research has a pretest-posttest control group design. The test instrument used in this study consisted of 25 multiple-choice questions. The results showed that students who taught using magic card media were in the high category (57.14%) and very high category (42.86%). The students who taught using the twister game media were in the medium category (8.70%), high (56.52%), and very high (34.78%). According to the independent sample t-test, there was a significant level of 0.089 > 0.05. This indicates that there is no significant difference in learning outcomes between learners who taught using magic cards and learners who taught using game twister media.

Abstract

Teaching material is a set of material referred to the national curriculum in order to achieve the competence standards. The purpose of this research is to obtain valid, practical and effective comic-based teaching materials on Pteridophyta for Biology Education students. This research applies the Research and Development method with ADDIE design: Anlysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. This research was conducted in the Department of Biology Education at the Tarbiyah and Teaching Faculty of the State Islamic University (UIN) Alauddin Makassar. The instruments used were student and lecturer questionnaires and diagnostic tests consist of multiple choice questions. According to the validation results, the comic-based teaching materials are categorised as valid with the average total of validity value Va = 4.45 (4 ≤ Va <5). Based on the student and lecturer questionnaire results, the practicality of the comic-based teaching materials is categorised as practical with an average value of Va = 4.33 (4aVa <5) and Va = 4.36 (4≤Va <5) respectively. According to the students’ test results, the efficacy of the comic-based teaching materials is categorised as “very good”, indicated by the students’ average score that reached 86.92. Abstrak. Bahan ajar adalah seperangkat materi pelajaran yang mengacu pada kurikulum yang digunakan dalam rangka mencapai standar kompetensi dan kompetensi dasar yang telah ditentukan. Tujuan dari dilakukannya penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendapatkan bahan ajar berbasis komik pada materi Pteridophyta pada mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi yang valid, praktis dan efektif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development dengan desain ADDIE: Anlysis, Design, Develpment, Implementation and Evaluation. Penelitian ini dilaksankan di Jurusan Pendidikan Biologi Fakultas Tarbiyah dan Keguruan Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Alauddin Makassar.Instumen yang digunakan berupa angket repson mahasiswa, dosen dan diagnostic test berupa pilihan ganda Berdasarkan hasil penilaian validator, tingkat kevalidan bahan ajar berbasis komik materi pteridophyta berada pada kategori valid dengan nilai rata-rata total kevalidan komik pembelajaran yaitu Va = 4.45 (4 ≤ Va < 5). Berdasarkan hasil penilaian respon mahasiswa maka tingkat kepraktisan bahan ajar berbasis komik materi pteridophyta berada pada kategori praktis dengan nilai rata-rata Va = 4.33 (4≤Va<5) dan nilai rata-rata total kevalidan angket respon Dosen terhadap komik pembelajaran yaitu Va = 4.36 (4≤Va<5). Berdasarkan hasil tes belajar mahasiswa tingkat keefektifan bahan ajar berbasis komik materi pteridophyta berada pada kategori sangat baik dengan nilai rata-rata hasil mahasiswa yaitu 86.92.

Abstract

This study employed research and development (R & D) with a four-dimensional development model that includes four stages: define, design, develop, and disseminate. This research aimed to determine the characteristics, level of validity, practicality, and effectiveness of genetic box learning media for class XII genetic material at SMA Negeri 22 Bone. The genetics box learning media is a product that is being developed and will be tested through validity, practicality, and effectiveness tests. The research subjects were 29 class XII students at SMA Negeri 22 Bone. The instruments in this study included student and educator response questionnaires to obtain product practicality data, media characteristic sheets to obtain the characteristics of the developed genetics box media, and learning achievement tests to obtain product effectiveness data. According to the findings of this study, the media have an appealing appearance, are clear and neat, and use appealing color combinations. Genetic box media is easy to operate and does not require electronic facilities or equipment to use. In addition, the genetics box has value in helping students understand the material and can provide a comprehensive learning experience. The genetics box media also has quite good tool durability because it is made of hard materials such as wood and boards. The genetics box media formulates learning objectives and refers to material items that support the achievement of those objectives. In addition, the genetics box learning media for class XII genetic material at SMA Negeri 22 Bone has a validity level of expert validity and a material expert value of 3.72 with a very valid category. The response of students and educators to the level of practicality is worth a total of 3.52 in the positive category. The learning achievement test of students using the genetics box learning media on genetic material for class XII at SMAN 22 Bone is in the effective category because it reaches 100%, so the genetics box learning media for class XII genetic material at SMAN 22 Bone is feasible to use because it meets valid, practical, and effective criteria.
