Abstract

The existence and the use of live fish hold system, can help fishermen to reduce the operating costs in fishpreservation 11.8%. The live fish hold system, which fish hold were given circulation hole so the water insideand outside the hatch is connected, there should be researched about the changes and differences in pressurethat happened when the ship moves.Initial condition where the ship is not moving, surface of water in the fish hold will be the same height with adraught of ship. When the ship began to move out, the pressure of fish hold will decrease along with increasingthe speed of the ship. This will caused a decrease of water surface elevation in fish hold.According the calculation and analysis we found on the speed of 12 knots the water surface elevation in hold ispositive with a value 0,3947 m on to 0,20 m diameter of hole circulation (before variation), 0,4515 m on to 0,15m diameter of hole circulation, 0,4656 m onto 0,25 m diameter of hole circulation, 0,4718 m on to 0,20 mdiameter of two pieces of hole cilculation and -0,9410 m for manual calculation with all variations.The optimum hole circulation was chossen at two pieces of diameter of 0,20 m because on the speed 12 knots,the water elevation is 0,4718 m. This value is the higest among the other variations of the cilculation hole

Abstract

Model catamarans increasingly popular as a means of transportation of goods and people that needdevelopment to find out more in the interaction prisoners on the ship hull in order to achieve stability and betterresistance. KM Jasatirta is one of ship model catamaran (double hull) which is designed to support tourism inJatiluhur Reservoir. This study aims to find out more details interaction of the total prisoners in the ship's hullKM Jasatirta with Computational Fluid Dynamics approach.Research carried out several stages of manufacture of the Computational Fluid Dynamic model, simulationinput data, running simulations to converge, then analyzes the results of calculations by the methodSlenderBody, Delft Series, 98, and CFD. Analysis of the calculation includes the analysis of resistance, FroudeNumber economic , and comparative analysis of numerical calculation by the method of Computational FluidDynamics.The results of the analysis and calculation of reseach showed that the total ship resistance (Rt) at 2 knots boatspeed by using the CFD method at 0.37 kN, Delft method Series'98 of 0.14 kN, while the calculation method forSlender Body 0.04 kN and a analityc calculation by the method of Millward's of 0215 kN. And based on theresults of analysis of Froude number of the most economical in terms of aspects of the ship's speed is the methodof Computational Fluid Dynamics with a value of 0094 sedangan Fn projection calculation with a quadraticfunction then the value of accurate Fn Series'98 Delft method so it can be used as a reference calculation.

Abstract

Planning of ship construction is make its having good effectivity value and efficiency. Composite as materialalternative to changes of steel feedstock and wood has many applied named FRP (fiberglass reinforcedplastics) single skin. The weakness of this FRP was heavy construction and requires many production time.Therefore, will be checked comparison between single skin with sandwich constructions for shell.In this research, the way for making composite is hand lay up method with three various thickness of skinthere are : t, t/2, and t/4. To know strength comparison from the various skin of sandwich with single skin,must be test, consist of tensile test.. The result is analyzed then compared by BKI (Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia)rules for the fiberglass ship.Based on the result, indicates that optimization skin thickness of sandwich construction applies Corematwhich tensile strength it is equivalent with Single Skin at 2/3t and usage of Sandwich construction causes23,12 % lighter. In economic analyze, advantage from low weight is compensation of addition 23,12 % DWT.Material cost for Sandwich about 11,35% bigger than Single Skin construction.

Abstract

The Application Of Catamaran Hullform For The Fishing Vessel accorded to the leakage of the monohullform. The existence and the using of the lively fish hold could help the fisherman to decrease theoperational cost for about 11,8% to keep the fishes. Therefore the application of sail objected to reduce thebiggest cost operation component that is the fuel consumption. Catamaranhullform design for lively fish holdtook one hullform which has the best performance. The performance aspects in this case are the hydrostatic,ship resistance, stability and seakeeping.The research about catamaran fishing vessel design for lively fishes using sail and machine as the ship moveris expected to give the information about the hullform that has a better performance than the commonlyhullform and it could be an alternative to improve the fishing vessel hullform into the modern one.Accorded to the calculation result and analysis are gained the result that showed at the velocity of 12 knotsfrom some length dimension variations of fish hold for the catamaran fishing vessel with lively fish hold,variation of length of 2,0 meters could reduced the biggest ship’s resistance for about 3,99% between theother modification hullform and the ship’s resistance of standard hullform. Otherwise, by the stability aspectof any variation condition, fish hold length dimension variation at 2,0 meters had a better stability thananother fish hold length dimension and catamaran fishing vessel which used the commonly fish hold. Theinstallation of sail at the fish hold length dimension at 2,0 meters could reduce the power operation for about48,42% better than fishing vessel that used the commonly fish hold.

Abstract

Commonly, the Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) analysis using the finite volume method, solid modeling is usually used in the early stage in order to prepare a mesh process before the computational process is executed. In this paper the CFD analysis must be executed to obtain a resistance coefficient value, and the verification should be done to ensure a result is close to experimental data. In the CFD analysis, some parameters have been taken into account, including the variation of domain dimensions, variation of mesh sizes, and variation of boundary conditions, in which the comparison between the numerical analysis and experimental data showed good agreement in general. The result of the case no.1 has a smaller difference of the resistance coefficients to the experimental data than other cases, in which the total resistance coefficient (Ct) has a difference about 1.95% of experimental data, the friction resistance (Cf) has a difference about 0.83% of experimental data, and there is a difference about 6.30% of experimental data for the residual resistance (Cr).

Abstract

At a sailing in a territorial to sea or river, ship propeller frequently collide object or foreign object which float, causing damage at propeller, throw in the form of curving, crack or broken at propeller blade. When this damage do not improve immediately; repaired will generate harm effect to ship construction or parts of machinery. Therefore ship should be immediately to repair (emergency docking) to improve the propeller. But is not easy to get docking space to repair because docking space schedule is very strike, existing graving dock in country. So that ship have to kick one's heels to be able to docking space, which meaning of big loss of time and also expense. The air of this research technical analysis possibility implementation to propeller repairf by floating repair system in territorial water closest with damage location of propeller and compare efficiency economic value and time if repair of propeller done in graving dock or executed by floating repair in graving dock. In this research, repair propeller without docking can be executed by arranging ship trim by arranging ballast tank to be reached space which last for working. Hereinafter worked repair of blade propeller thickly , pitch, aerofoil, wide of blade, obtained mains material type from source which have been collected by either from Owner Surveyor, picture - technique picture and also blade propeller which still goodness. Result of analysis indicate that technically repair of propeller which broken can be executed without docking and economically will be more be efficient up to 700%,in comparison with executed in Graving Dock, and will be more be efficient up to 300% when compared with executed in floating repair system

Abstract

Ada enam macam gerakan kapal dilaut yaitu tiga gerakan translasi (surging, swaying dan heaving ) dan gerakan tiga gerakan rotasi (rolling, pitching dan yawing). Dalam kajian olah gerak kapal, gerakan yang ditinjau adalah gerakan yang hanya mampu direspon oleh kapal, yaitu rolling, heaving, pitching. Efektivitas pengoperasian kapal di laut pada dasarnya sangat dipengaruhi oleh kemampuan kapal untuk tetap selamat (seaworthiness) dan karakteristik yang menekankan pada respon kapal terhadap kondisi operasional di laut (seakindliness), kedua hal tersebut merupakan kriteria utama yang harus dipenuhi oleh suatu kapal, yang berkaitan erat dengan karakteristik gerakan kapal

Abstract

The cooling system using CO2 refrigerant is one of the vital systems to increase the quality of hauled fishing and it is more effective and more efficient and also this system is environmentally harmless than the conventional cooling system. Reliability is one of so many criteria that had to be concerned in the process of taking the decision of invention such as planning/drafting, production, or reparation process. The aim of this research is to evaluate the design of fish hatch cooling system using CO2 refrigerant and auxiliary compression by heat power in KM. RAS (Rukun Arta Sentosa) 06 using the approximation based on reliability. Some steps that had been used in this research are collecting the data, design process, and evaluation by qualitative and quantitative approach. The qualitative approach is using the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method and also using Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) method. Otherwise, the quantitative approach is using the method of Markov Process. Analytical approach is done by make a design model of the available invention system through the block diagram reliability and decrease the reliability function of the system, and for the next step those system is to be used as the base rule of quantitative evaluation system. The report of the research tells that the severity level and the failure rate are showed in some components, such as compressor, condenser, heat exchanger and expansion valve. The analytical approach will obtain the value of MTTF (Mean Time To Failure) system for 250 hours and the availability value is 0,6308 or 63,08% and the unavailability value is 0,3692 or 36,92%.

Abstract

Dengan menurunya peranan sungai Banjir Kanal Barat Semarang bahkan menjadi sebuah kawasan yang dianggap sebagai kawasan pinggiran yang tidak teratur dan tidak tertata dengan baik serta memiliki kecenderungan sebagai daerah kumuh. Padahal Sungai Banjir Kanal Barat merupakan ruang kota dengan view yang bisa dioptimalkan sebagai ruang rekreasi bagi kota Semarang. Adanya penelitian ini mengenai perancangan kapal katamaran multifungsi sebagai kapal wisata, water bus, SAR diharapkan bisa menghidupkan peranan sungai Banjir Kanal Barat Semarang yang mengalami penurunan. Dalam  melaksanakan penelitian ini dilakukan beberapa tahapan perancangan yaitu perhitungan ukuran utama, membuat rencana garis, rencana umum, analisa hidrostatik, stabilitas kapal dan analisis olah gerak kapal. Serta pemilihan peralatan kapal  dan motor induk berdasarkan hasil perhitungan daya motor sesuai dengan hambatan yang dialami kapal. Hasil perancangan kapal katamaran multifungsi ini didapatkan ukuran utama kapal LOA = 11.00 m,  LWL = 10.12 m, T = 0.5 m, H = 1.1 m, B = 3.8 m, Bl = 1 m . Dari hasil hidrostatik, kapal katamaran multifungsi sungai Banjir Kanal Barat Semarang mempunyai displacement = 6.012 ton, Cb = 0.298, LCB = 0,049 didepan midship. Pada tinjauan stabilitas, hasil menunjukkan kapal multifungsi mempunyai stabilitas yang stabil titik M berada diatas titik G pada semua kondisi. Pada tinjauan olah gerak, kapal katamaran multifungsi memiliki olah gerak yang baik terbukti tidak terjadi deck wettnes. Kemudian pada hasil gambar rencana umum, kapal katamaran multifungsi memiliki space yang cukup untuk menata tempat duduk penumpang,  peralatan keselamatan, peralatan komunikasi dan navigasi. Hambatan yang dialami kapal multifungsi  10 knots (efisiensi 75%) sebesar 1,89 kN dan membutuhkan daya mesin induk 16,28 HP.
