This study aims to analyze the effect of agility strategies on the performance of micro, small and medium enterprises in the halal industry. This research uses a quantitative approach through a survey with simple linear regression data analysis techniques. The object of research is halal-certified micro, small and medium enterprises, with data obtained from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Ministry of Cooperatives and micro, small and medium enterprises, the Central Bureau of Statistics, and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. The results show that the agility strategy allows micro, small and medium enterprises to operate more flexibly and responsively to market changes and meet strict halal standards.   These findings form the basis for micro, small and medium enterprises in improving operational efficiency in order to strengthen the competitiveness of micro, small and medium enterprises in local and global markets. Abstract

The rapid increase in private vehicle use has also boosted the growth prospects of repair shops in Indonesia. In this context, service plays a crucial role in creating new revenue streams for businesses while contributing to improved company performance. However, risk-taking is crucial in bridging the gap between the concept and implementation of this strategy. This study aims to identify the influence of service on company performance in repair shops in West Sumatra, with risk-taking as a mediating variable. Using quantitative methods, this study collected data from 80 repair shops in West Sumatra and analyzed it using a Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) approach. The results show a positive and significant relationship between servitization and risk-taking, as well as between risk-taking and company performance. Furthermore, servitization has also been shown to have a positive and significant effect on company performance. Further findings indicate that risk-taking mediates the positive and significant relationship between servitization and company performance. Thus, this study confirms that servitization and risk-taking play a significant role in improving company performance. This research contributes to the broader understanding of business models, particularly in the repair shop sector, where the concept of service is generally studied more in the context of manufacturing companies. This research highlights how servitization can shape firm performance through its mediating role in risk-taking.

Abstract

The United Nations established the Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015 as the 2030 Sustainability Development Agenda, which provided a comprehensive framework to guide global efforts toward a more sustainable and inclusive future while addressing socioeconomic and environmental issues. As a result, businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as part of large corporations, are intensely interested in transforming business models towards sustainability. This article investigates the development of articles on sustainable business models (SBM), specifically SBM in SMEs. The study was conducted using articles obtained from the Elsevier Scopus database. The analysis was carried out using bibliographic research techniques using VOSviewer software and content analysis. Based on the study conducted, it was found that SBM had been discovered between 2002 and 2003, although relatively few articles about business models were found, namely 827 out of 16,784 business model documents. Meanwhile, there are far fewer Scopus documents on SBM for SMEs, namely 19 articles, most of which are systematic literature reviews and case studies. Content analysis shows that SBM in SMEs needs to consider adaptation to uncertain environmental and institutional contexts. Regarding strategic content, the need to maintain symbiotic relationships with stakeholders, founder values, social and environmental values, leadership, value-based competencies, and manager commitment is essential for SBM. Developing a sustainable business model for SMEs is carried out by integrating sustainability into its value chain.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) on employee performance at PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 Teluk Bayur, with job satisfaction as an intervening variable. Using a quantitative approach and the variance-based Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method, data were collected via questionnaires from 150 permanent employees. The analysis included tests of convergent and discriminant validity, composite reliability, and hypothesis testing through path coefficients and bootstrapping. The findings show that Health and Safety, Security, and Environment each have a significant positive effect on employee performance (T-statistics > 1.96; P-values < 0.05). Job satisfaction also significantly influences employee performance and mediates the relationship between Health and Safety and employee performance. However, job satisfaction does not significantly mediate the relationships between Security and employee performance, nor between Environment and employee performance. The R-square value of 0.781 indicates that HSSE and job satisfaction explain 78.1% of the variance in employee performance, with the remainder attributable to factors outside the model. Overall, the results confirm that effective HSSE implementation enhances employee performance both directly and indirectly through increased job satisfaction. The study recommends that organizations strengthen safety culture, adopt technology-based security systems, foster a comfortable and environmentally friendly workplace, and attend to employees’ psychological well-being to sustainably improve job satisfaction and productivity.
