Abstract

Abstrak.Pengeringan merupakan salahsatuproses pasca panen yang umum dilakukan pada berbagai produk pertanian yang ditujukan untuk menurunkan kadar air sampai pada tingkat yang amanuntukpenyimpananatauproseslainnya. Perlu alternatif pengeringan dengan sinar matahari langsung untuk meningkatkan kualitas hasil pengeringan. Penelitian ini menguji proses pengeringan kacang hijau menggunakan mesin Multi Seeds Smart Dryer (MSSD). Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu menganalisis pengeringan biji kacang hijau dan kinerja mesin. Mesin MSSD memiliki 16 rak, 6 buah lampu pijar, 3 buah blower, 12 sensor DHT 22, aktuator, mikrokontroler Arduino dan 6 kipas exhaust dan dimensi panjang 150 cm, lebar 60 cm dan tinggi 120 cm. Bahan yang digunakan yaitu 6.400g kacang hijau yang masih segar dengan kadar air awal sebesar 23,60 %. Setelah proses pengeringan selama 21 jam, kadar air akhir yang diperoleh sebesar 10,50 %, dan suhu pengeringan yang dihasilkan pada proses pengeringan berkisar antara 25-40C. Untuk Laju pengeringan konstan terjadi setelah pengeringan berlangsung selama 11 jam kemudian menurunkan kadar air dalam jumlah yang besar. Namun daya perkecambahan yang diperoleh sebesar 59 %.Performance Test Of Multi Seeds Smart Dryer (Mssd) On Green Beans (Vigna radiata)Abstract.Drying is one of the post-harvest processes commonly carried out on various agricultural products which is aimed at reducing the water content to a level that is safe for storage or other processes. An alternative to drying in direct sunlight is needed to improve the quality of the drying results. This research tested the process of drying green beans using a machine Multi Seeds Smart Dryer (MSSD). The aim of this research is to analyze the drying of green bean seeds and machine performance. MSSD machines have 16 shelves, 6 incandescent lamps, 3 blower, 12 DHT 22 sensors, actuators, Arduino microcontroller and 6 fans exhaust and dimensions 150 cm long, 60 cm wide and 120 cm high. The ingredients used were 6,400g of fresh green beans with an initial water content of 23.60%. After the drying process for 21 hours, the final water content obtained was 10.50%, and the drying temperature produced during the drying process ranged from 25-40C. The constant drying rate occurs after drying lasts for 11 hours and then reduces the water content by a large amount. However, the germination capacity obtained was 59%.

Abstract

Mocaf is one of the leading agrotechnopreneurship products in Jember District. As a business activity, mocaf agrotechnopreneurship development is faced with uncertainties that can lead to unwanted risks. This study aimed to manage risk in the development of mocaf agrotechnopreneurship so that it can become a reference for people in Jember District in developing their business. The methods used for risk management in this study included the Supply Chain Operation Reference (SCOR) approach for risk identification, Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) for risk assessment, fishbone diagrams for risk evaluation, and the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Pugh methods for risk mitigation. This study shows that there are many identified potential risks in developing mocaf agrotechnopreneurship in Jember District, some of which are critical risks. Based on the criticality matrix analysis, three main risks have been obtained in developing mocaf agrotechnopreneurship, including perishable raw materials, low public knowledge about mocaf, and increasing prices of cassava as a raw material. Evaluation regarding the causes of the three risks includes human factors, methods, facilities, and the environment. Risk mitigation results show that the strategy that can be applied is to set particular specifications for raw materials to deal with perishable raw materials, conduct education through various media to increase public knowledge, and establish partnerships with farmers or collectors to overcome rising raw material prices. Abstract

The pandemic several years ago has impacted employment problems with the increase in the number of unemployed in Jember Regency. One effort can be made to develop agrotechnopreneurship as a community business.  This study aims to analyze the prospects for developing agrotechnopreneurship by utilizing the potential of the agricultural sector in Jember Regency.  The analysis focused on potential agrotechnopreneurship products developed in Jember Regency today: mocaf, chili sauce, coconut briquettes, shredded catfish, and cow's milk kefir.  This research uses a prospective analysis method structured based on states that may occur in the future.  The results showed several scenarios for developing potential agrotechnopreneurship in Jember Regency, generally including optimistic and pessimistic scenarios.  The development of agrotechnopreneurship in chili sauce, coconut briquettes, shredded catfish, and cow's milk kefir has an optimistic scenario, indicating a promising potential for future growth. This optimistic scenario can be realized if the key factors in the development of agrotechnopreneurship can be improved as expected. Meanwhile, the development of mocaf agrotechnopreneurship has a pessimistic scenario. Keywords: agrotechnopreneurship, Jember Regency, prospective analysis, the agricultural sector

Abstract

The manual cracking and separation of cocoa beans' husk result in low working productivity, a high percentage of broken beans, and the difficulty of separating cocoa nibs from the husk. This poses a challenge for both farmers and industrial players in cocoa bean management, leading to the development of a cocoa bean dehusking machine (desheller). This study was conducted to analyze the performance of the cocoa bean dehusking machine. The research involved motor speeds of 500, 700, and 900 rpm, combined with roasted cocoa bean grades AA, A, and B. The observed parameters included working capacity, yield, nib percentage, percentage of husk adhering to nibs, power transmission efficiency, and power requirements. The working capacity of the cocoa bean deshelling machine ranged from 17,413 to 41,481 kg/h, with yields between 73.83% and 80.83%. The nib percentage varied from 92.13% to 98.61%, while the percentage of husk adhering to nibs ranged from 1.08% to 6.92%. Power transmission efficiency was between 92.24% and 94.14%, and power requirements ranged from 601.33 to 645.33 watts. The best treatment in this study was found at a motor speed of 900 rpm with cocoa bean grade of AA.  Keywords:  Desheller,  Nibs,  Roasted cocoa beans, Shell,  Yield

Abstract

"Basil" or basil has economic value both in fresh form, simplicia and essential oil. This research aims to evaluate the method and duration of distillation in making essential oil from basil. Two distillation methods, namely steam and boil distillation, are carried out with different distillation times (1 hour, 2 hours, and 3 hours). The parameters observed were physical characteristics which included oil volume, yield, pH, distillation rate, color, aroma and spots. The results show that the best distillation process time is 2 h for both distillation methods. Steam distillation for 2 hours produced the best essential oil of 1.1 ml, yield 0.11%, pH 5.78, distillation rate of 0.53 ml/h, pale yellow color, strong aroma, clean spots. Meanwhile, water boiled distillation for 2 h produced 1.2 ml of essential oil, 0.12% yield, pH 6.31, distillation rate of 0.60 ml/h, brown color, weak aroma, very spotty. Distillation of basil leaf essential oil using the steam method for 2 h was determined as the best treatment based on the highest essential oil yield, smallest pH, highest distillation rate, clearest color, most distinctive aroma, and cleanest stain. Keywords: Aroma, Basil leaves, Essential oil, Steam distillation, Yield.

Abstract

Peanuts are the second largest legume crop in Indonesia, both cultivated on farms and wild. In 2019-2023, Indonesia experienced a decline in peanut production due to the declining in harvesting area. In addition, this is also due to the poor quality of seeds in the cultivation process. This study aims to observe the performance of the Multi Seed Smart Dryer (MSSD) machine for peanut seeding. This research was conducted by observing changes in moisture content, drying rate, drying temperature, and peanut germination test results using the Multi Seed Smart Dryer machine. The results showed that the left side of all shelves experienced an increase in temperature because it was close to the heat source and the level of temperature uniformity was still said to be uniform because it did not exceed the uniformity limit. The peak drying rate occurred at the 12th hour and decreased further. Based on the results of the germination test, the dried beans have a germination rate of 83%. This is in accordance with the passing standard of seed quality according to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia and International Seed Testing Association. Keywords: Drying, Multi Seed Smart Dryer, Peanut, Temperature.

Abstract

Mayang River in Jember Regency has a strategic role in fulfilling people's lives and is a source of water for 79 irrigation areas with a total area of 16,471 hectares. Community use of the Mayang River has the potential to provide input of organic material from waste which can reduce river water quality. The aim of this research is to analyze the spatial distribution of water quality parameters, namely TSS, TDS, pH, DO and BOD. This research uses multiple linear regression techniques to determine the value of the distribution or spatial distribution of Mayang River pollution, as well as identifying water quality variables that are correlated in each region. The research results show that water quality parameters that have a strong correlation are pH (r = 0.74), DO (r = 0.72) and TSS (r = 0.65), moderate correlation with BOD parameters (r = 0.48) and low correlation with BOD parameters. TDS parameters (r = 0.25). Based on the analysis results, it is known that water quality parameters are correlated with different activities in each region. The results of this research can be used as a strategy for monitoring water quality in the Mayang River to control the impact of human activities in the surrounding area. Keywords: Multiple Linear Regression, Spatial Distribution, Water Quality.

Abstract

Pondok Pesantren “AN NUR H.A” merupakan pondok Pesantren Salaf di Jember. Profil lulusan dari pesantren ini hanya 5% dari lulusan pondok pesantren yang berhasil menjadi ustadz, sedang 95% lulusan yang lain masih dalam kebingungan memilih profesi yang akan ditekuni. Hal ini terjadi karena pada umumnya, lulusan pondok pesantren salaf memiliki pendidikan umum yang masih rendah, sementara kurikulum pengajaran yang disajikan di pondok pesantren belum menyentuh pada aspek ketrampilan hidup. Para santri pada umumnya hanya memegang ijazah Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (setara dengan Sekolah Dasar) atau maksimal Madrasah Tsanawiyah (setara Sekolah Lanjutan Tingkat Pertama) dan rata-rata para santri tidak memiliki ketrampilan untuk mereka hidup mandiri secara ekonomi setelah mereka keluar dari pondok pesantren. Melalui program pengabdian unggulan (PPU) ini pengusul bertekat untuk membuat program pemberdayaan santri dan alumni dengan memberikan bekal ketrampilan untuk mereka, selain pengetahuan agama yang diajarkan. Program yang dianggap paling tepat adalah Pemberdayaan Santri dan alumni Pondok Pesantren Melalui Wirausaha Budidaya Jamur Merang, karena usaha ini membutuhkan bahan baku lokal dan tidak membutuhkan lahan yang terlalu luas serta teknologi yang digunakan merupakan teknologi tepat guna yang mudah diadopsi. Hasil kegiatan ini adalah: (1) menambah ketrampilan para santri pondok pesantren dan alumni dalam budidaya dan berwirausaha jamur merang; (2) mengurangi pengangguran para lulusan pondok pesantren, (3) terciptanya lapangan kerja baru di pedesaan; (4) terciptanya keterkaitan bisnis secara tidak langsung dengan masyarakat di sekitar lokasi pondok melalui usaha penyediaan bahan pembantu, sekam dan bubuk gergaji; (5) meningkatnya pendapatan pesantren dari budidaya jamur merang; dan (6) kegiatan ekonomi produktif di pondok pesantren.

Abstract

Temperature and humidity control in rice nurseries is carried out to maintain the quality of rice seeds and avoid planting failure. Control is carried out using a prototype automatic device equipped with a water pump for watering and a mist maker plus a fan for humidifying. Based on observations, the prototype tool operates according to the given program. The water pump will turn on when the time shows 07:00 a.m. and 02:00 p.m. Meanwhile, the mist maker plus fan will turn on according to the regulated temperature and humidity conditions and can be applied to several regions in Indonesia. However, at the research site it will turn on when the temperature is > 27 °C and the humidity is < 70% and will turn off when the temperature reaches 27 °C and the humidity is 86%. The optimal air temperature for rice growth ranges from 19–27 °C with humidity in the RH range of 70–86%. Observations were carried out in two treatments, namely conditions with control and conditions without control. The results of seedling with control are better than without control. This can be seen from the growth of rice seedlings with control having a higher value than rice seedlings without control.

Abstract

Salah satu agrotechnopreneurship berbasis perikanan yang berpotensi dikembangkan di Kabupaten Jember adalah industri abon ikan lele. Pengembangan agrotechnopreneurship menghadapi beberapa risiko akibat adanya ketidakpastian pada kegiatan usahanya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengelola risiko dalam pengembangan agrotechnopreneurship abon lele, dengan tujuan memberikan panduan praktis bagi para pemangku kepentingan agrotechnopreneurship di Kabupaten Jember dalam mendirikan dan mengembangkan usahanya. Metode manajemen risiko yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi wawancara dan observasi untuk mengidentifikasi risiko, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) untuk menilai tingkat keparahan dan kemungkinan terjadinya risiko, diagram tulang ikan (fishbone diagram) untuk menganalisis akar penyebab risiko, serta Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) untuk menentukan prioritas strategi mitigasi risiko. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 10 potensi risiko yang di antaranya terkait dengan pengembangan agrotechnopreneurship abon lele di Kabupaten Jember. Berdasarkan analisis kekritisan, teridentifikasi empat risiko utama dalam proses pengembangan agrotechnopreneurship abon lele, antara lain rendahnya kemampuan permodalan untuk pengembangan produk, proses produksi tidak kontinu, kegiatan promosi yang kurang intensif, dan kurangnya inovasi produk. Faktor manusia, metode, sarana, dan lingkungan diperhitungkan dalam mengevaluasi akar penyebab risiko. Hasil dari mitigasi risiko menunjukkan beberapa strategi prioritas yang dapat diterapkan yaitu perlunya peran pemerintah dalam memfasilitasi (akses dan kebijakan) peminjaman modal, menerapkan manajemen rantai pasok untuk mengelola distribusi bahan baku dan produk, berpartisipasi dalam acara atau pameran yang diselenggarakan oleh pemerintah, serta mengembangkan variasi rasa dan kemasan produk abon lele.
