Abstract

This development study aims to produce E-LKPD with audiovisual-based cover education songs on the skeletal system material for grade XI senior high school that is valid and practical for use in learning. The development model applied is 4D (Four-D) by Thiagarajan (1974), which includes the Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate stages. The research was conducted at Kubutambahan 1 Senior High School. The validity test was carried out using Gregory's formula, involving two subject matter experts and two media experts. The assessment results showed that the Gregory Validity Coefficient (GVC) of both subject matter and media experts scored 1, which is classified as highly valid. Furthermore, the practicality test involved three biology teachers and 31 grade XI students at Kubutambahan 1 Senior High School. The assessment results showed a practicality level of 91.42% from teachers and 84.51% from students, both of which were classified as highly practical. Thus, the E-LKPD E-LKPD with audiovisual-based cover education songs on the skeletal system material for grade XI senior high school was declared highly valid and highly practical to support the learning process in grade XI senior high school.

Abstract

The inquiry learning model certainly has shortcomings in its implementation, one of which is controlling student activities and success. This model is difficult to observe students who are not participating in groups doing experimental activities. This causes uneven delivery of material for students individually. Therefore, it is necessary for this learning model to be synergized with a participatory approach. One approach that can be used is the Participatory Ergonomics Approach. This study aims to determine whether there is a difference in the effect of the synergy of participatory ergonomics with guided inquiry learning models with conventional learning on junior high school students' eye fatigue, to determine whether there is a difference in the effect of the synergy of participatory ergonomics with guided inquiry learning models with conventional learning on junior high school students' boredom in learning, to determine whether there is a difference in the effect of the synergy of participatory ergonomics with guided inquiry learning models with conventional learning on junior high school students' science learning outcomes, and to determine whether there is a difference in boredom, fatigue and science learning outcomes of students who are taught using the participatory ergonomics approach with guided inquiry models with conventional learning for junior high school students. This type of research is a quasi-experimental researchs. This study uses a quantitative approach. The design of this study uses the Nonequivalent Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. The data in this study are in the form of learning interest questionnaire scores and learning outcome test scores which are analyzed using the MANOVA test. The results of this study indicate that: a significant value of 0.000 (p <0.05) was obtained, a significant value of 0.000 (p <0.05) was obtained, a significant value of 0.000 (p <0.05) was obtained.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the difference in critical thinking skills between students who learn using the Think Pair Share learning model assisted by Mind Mapping and students who are taught using the Direct Instruction model. The type of research is a quasi-experiment with a Randomized Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The research sample consists of 10th grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Kubutambahan who were selected randomly by lottery. Based on the results of random class selection, class X.5 was selected as the experimental class, which used the Think Pair Share model assisted by Mind Mapping, and class X.6 was selected as the control class, which used the Direct Instruction model. The instrument used in this study was an essay test related to indicators of students' critical thinking skills. The data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis and independent samples t-tests to determine the difference in critical thinking skills between students who learned using the Think Pair Share learning model assisted by Mind Mapping and students who were taught using the Direct Instruction model. The hypothesis test results showed that the value of ???? = 0.0001, which means that there was a significant difference in critical thinking skills between students who learned using the Think Pair Share learning model assisted by Mind Mapping and students who were taught using the Direct Instruction model. The improvement in critical thinking skills of students in the experimental class was 45.41% better than the control class that used the Direct Instruction model

Abstract

Low student engagement and learning readiness remain significant challenges in Biology learning, particularly in the topic of climate change. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of the Think-Pair-Share (TPS) learning model integrated with a Flipped Classroom approach in improving senior high school students' cognitive learning outcomes. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The sample consisted of 70 tenth-grade students from SMA Negeri 2 Tejakula, who were assigned to experimental and control groups. Data were collected through cognitive achievement tests and student response questionnaires and analyzed using N-Gain, ANCOVA, and Cohen’s effect size. The results showed that the experimental group achieved a higher mean N-Gain score (0,76) than the control group (0,66). ANCOVA results indicated a significant difference in cognitive learning outcomes between the two groups (p < 0,05). Furthermore, the effectiveness test revealed an effect size of 0,642 which is categorized as medium. In addition, students’ responses to the implementation of the learning model were classified as positive across all indicators. These findings suggest that integrating the Think-Pair-Share (TPS) model with a Flipped Classroom approach effectively enhances students’ cognitive learning outcomes and can serve as an alternative instructional strategy for fostering more active and meaningful Biology learning.

Abstract

This research and development study aimed to design and analyze the validity and practicality of interactive teaching materials using Liveworksheets for the topic of biodiversity, intended for 10th-grade high school students. The study employed the 4D (Four-D) model, comprising four stages: define, design, develop, and disseminate. The dissemination stage was conducted on a limited scale, covering only validation testing, practicality testing, and product packaging, as the research focused primarily on the development process and the initial evaluation of the resulting media. Validity testing was conducted by two subject matter experts and two media experts, with results calculated using the Gregory formula. The assessment results indicated that the Gregory Validity Coefficient (KVG) for both subject matter and media experts reached a score of 1 (one), placing the materials in the "highly valid" category. Practicality testing was subsequently conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Sawan, involving two Biology teachers and 32 10th-grade students in a large-group trial. Analysis revealed practicality levels of 85% from the teachers and 91.15% from the students, both falling into the "highly practical" category. Based on these findings, it is concluded that the interactive teaching materials using Liveworksheets for the biodiversity topic are highly valid and highly practical for use in classroom learning by 10th-grade high school students.

Abstract

Artikel ini mengkaji potensi pemanfaatan kearifan lokal boreh Bali sebagai media dalam pembelajaran biologi kontekstual, khususnya pada materi anatomi dan fisiologi sistem integumen manusia. Saat ini, salah satu tantangan utama dalam pendidikan biologi di tingkat sekolah menengah adalah kurangnya keterkaitan antara konsep teoritis yang abstrak dengan realitas keseharian siswa, sehingga proses belajar kerap kurang bermakna. Untuk menjawab tantangan tersebut, kajian ini dilakukan melalui metode studi pustaka menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan secara komprehensif dari jurnal ilmiah, buku teks anatomi, referensi etnobiologi, serta literatur yang membahas pengobatan tradisional Bali, etnobotani, dan Case-Based Learning (CBL). Fokus kajian diarahkan pada tiga aspek utama: boreh sebagai praktik etnobotani masyarakat Bali, keterkaitan farmakologis kandungan boreh dengan struktur dan fungsi sistem integumen manusia, serta potensi penerapannya dalam pembelajaran biologi berbasis budaya. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa boreh merupakan representasi sistem pengetahuan lokal yang dibangun melalui pengalaman empiris, adaptasi ekologis, serta nilai-nilai budaya luhur masyarakat Bali. Secara saintifik, bahan-bahan aktif penyusun boreh seperti kunyit, jahe, kencur, cendana, dan melati dilaporkan memiliki sifat antiinflamasi, antibakteri, antioksidan, serta agen regeneratif yang sangat relevan dengan perawatan dan penyembuhan jaringan integumen. Hasil analisis lebih lanjut menegaskan bahwa praktik boreh dapat diangkat sebagai studi kasus autentik dalam model Case-Based Learning guna menjembatani sains modern dengan konteks sosial budaya peserta didik. Integrasi semacam ini dinilai sangat efektif untuk memperkuat pemahaman konsep, literasi saintifik, apresiasi terhadap tradisi lokal, sekaligus menumbuhkan kesadaran konservasi biodiversitas. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran biologi kontekstual berbasis boreh Bali dipandang sebagai strategi inovatif yang esensial untuk pengembangan pendidikan biologi masa depan.

Abstract

Biology learning on ecosystem material is still dominated by conventional media such as printed textbooks and static PowerPoint, causing low interactivity and minimal integration of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) values. This study aims to produce a design of interactive Canva learning media on ecosystem material oriented to ESD for 10th-grade students, and to analyze its validity and practicality. This study used Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, limited to the analyze, design, and development stages. Validity was assessed by two content experts and two media experts using a Likert-scale questionnaire analyzed through Pearson Product Moment correlation, while practicality was assessed by three teachers and 34 students using descriptive percentage analysis. The results show that the media design consists of introduction, core, and closing sections integrating the ESD stages of know, feel, think, and action. The validity test produced correlation coefficients of 0.644 and 0.819 (content aspect) and 0.828 and 0.792 (media aspect), all with p < 0.05, indicating valid and significant results. The practicality test showed 93.8% (teachers) and 91% (students), both in the very practical category. These findings imply that Canva can be transformed from a static design tool into a comprehensive, ready-to-use interactive learning medium that supports contextual and sustainability-oriented biology instruction.

Abstract

This study examined junior high school science teachers’ perceptions of integrating sustainability education into STEM-based deep learning in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Indonesia. A quantitative cross-sectional survey design was employed involving 45 science teachers selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire consisting of 15 items measuring five constructs: perceived relevance, pedagogical self-efficacy, institutional support, perceived barriers, and implementation intention. The instrument demonstrated satisfactory reliability (Cronbach’s alpha = .87). Descriptive analysis showed that perceived relevance was rated very highly (M = 4.32, SD = 0.51), whereas institutional support was moderate (M = 3.21, SD = 0.71). Teachers reported high pedagogical self-efficacy (M = 3.85, SD = 0.62), high perceived barriers (M = 3.67, SD = 0.58), and very high implementation intention (M = 4.05, SD = 0.56). Sixty percent of the teachers had not attended STEM or sustainability-related professional development programs. Spearman’s rho analysis indicated that pedagogical self-efficacy (r = .52), perceived relevance (r = .48), and institutional support (r = .47) were positively associated with implementation intention, whereas perceived barriers were negatively associated with implementation intention (r = −.39). The findings highlight the importance of strengthening institutional support and sustained professional development to facilitate the integration of sustainability education into STEM-based deep learning
