Abstract

This research analyzes how the roof tile cottage industry contributes to human resource empowerment in Kamulan Village. This research was conducted using a qualitative method. Using empowerment theory by Jim Ife as the theoretical basis of description. Data was collected through purposive sampling, in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The analysis was done inductively. The resource persons in this research are stakeholders in Kamulan Village and residents of roof tile craftsmen in Kamulan Village who are experienced in the roof tile industry as many as 8 resource persons. This research describes how the roof tile industry in Kamulan Village plays a role in empowering and absorbing human resources in the village. The results of the research conducted found that the home-based roof tile industry has prospered the lives of residents in the village. Empowerment carried out by residents is carried out well sustainably and actively between owners and workers in work evaluation. However, there are production obstacles with the scarcity of human resources (HR) of residents due to the large number of industries with total employment. The sustainability of the roof tile industry must be considered, especially in the availability of human resources and activating the empowerment of local village human resources. Considering the wider social and environmental impacts, it is strongly recommended that policies and socialization be made that support the growth of the roof tile industry in the future.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini guna menunjukkan dan mendeskripsikan penerapan pendekatan PIESQ di Sanhikmah yang memiliki keunggulan untuk mengakomodasi perbedaan kebutuhan belajar siswa. Kualitatif deskriptif digunakan untuk memperoleh data mendalam berkaitan dengan topik penelitian yang diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Narasumber yang terlibat yaitu guru, siswa, orang tua, dan Direktur Yayasan Sanhikmah. Pemilihan narasumber menggunakan purposive sampling dengan beberapa kriteria yang ditetapkan. Teori AGIL Talcott Parsons digunakan peneliti sebagai pisau analisisnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh warga sekolah melakukan adaptasi dalam penerapan pembelajaran PIESQ yang diwujudkan dengan kegiatan (a) Physic, yakni BL atau Belajar Lapangan, Healthy day, dan media pembelajaran yang menggunakan kekuatan fisik siswa; (b) Intelectual, dengan adanya 1 mata pelajaran dalam 1 hari dan kegiatan literasi baca; (c) Emotional, dengan penanaman karakter tidak ada perundungan dan senioritas di kelas, baik siswa normal maupun berkebutuhan khusus, serta pembiasaan kata “tolong, maaf, dan terima kasih”; (d) Spiritual, pelaksanaan sholat dhuha, madin, dan sholat dhuhur berjamaah; (e) Quotient, siswa diajarkan untuk berpikir logika dalam menyelesaikan masalah. Pendekatan PIESQ memiliki tujuan yang direncanakan untuk memfasilitasi kebutuhan belajar siswa sesuai dengan kemampuan dan kebutuhannya. Kegiatan PIESQ dilakukan secara terintegrasi dan berkesinambungan. Faktor pendorong dan penghambat keberhasilan pendekatan ini perlu dievaluasi sebagai wujud pemeliharaan pola.

Abstract

This research focuses on the readiness and the lack of students’ competence as pre-service teacher in dealing with field experience practice (PPL). The research was carried out using a mix method. Researchers develop research designs using qualitative method first, and then explain the findings obtained more comprehensively using qualitative method. The results of quantitative research were obtained through questionnaires, while qualitative data were obtained through interviews and literature studies. The results of the study show that the low competence of students is in three domains, that are 1) mastery of making learning tools, 2) determining learning strategies and models, and 3)mastering materials.

Abstract

The promotion strategy is the main factor for increasing the popularity of a region, including for the benefit of tourism. Regions in East Java were encouraged to develop the tourism sector causing an increase in tourist villages, one of which was carried out in Medowo village. The change in the focus of the village to become a tourist village is an opportunity for the local community to develop agricultural products into products that have a higher selling value. Product promotion needs to be shown carefully to keep up with the times. Changes in promotion through information technology require the public to be careful in choosing the right media and uploading interesting content. The purpose of this community service is to help the people of Medowo village develop the tourism sector and UMKM so that it has an impact on improving the economy and people’s welfare. Participation Rural Appraisal (PRA) is used as a method of community sevice by emphasizing solidarity among communities. The result is that the majority of people have a livelihood as farmers. There are three things that need to be considered by Medowo village to improve the tourism sector, namely (1) the uniqueness of the Medowo village area, (2) the target market for the tourism sector, and (3) the selection of social media and content that supports the tourism sector. The cillage community must be able to recognize the uniqueness of Medowo village, this can also be used as an opportunity to form new livelihoods in the UMKM sector. Keyword: Promotion strategy, tourist village, tourism. Abstrak Strategi promosi menjadi faktor utama untuk meningkatkan popularitas sebuah wilayah termasuk untuk kepentingan pariwisata. Wilayah di Jawa Timur didorong untuk mengembangkan sektor wisata menyebabkan peningkatan desa wisata, salah satunya dilakukan di Desa Medowo. Perubahan fokus desa menjadi desa wisata menjadi peluang bagi masyarakat setempat untuk mengembangkan produk hasil bumi menjadi produk yang memiliki nilai jual lebih tinggi. Promosi produk perlu diperlihatkan dengan cermat mengikuti perkembangan zaman. Perubahan promosi melalui teknologi informasi membutuhkan kecermatan masyarakat memilih media yang tepat dan mengunggah konten yang menarik. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini untuk menunjukkan peluang dan potensi desa untuk berkembang menjadi desa wisata. Participation Rural Appraisal (PRA) digunakan sebagai metode pengabdian masyarakat dengan menekankan solidaritas diantara masyarakat. Hasilnya mayoritas masyarakat memiliki mata pencaharian sebagai petani. Terdapat tiga hal yang perlu diperhatikan oleh Desa Medowo untuk meningkatkan sektor wisata yaitu (1) keunikan wilayah Desa Medowo, (2) target pasar untuk sektor pariwisata, dan (3) pemilihan media sosial dan konten yang mendukung sektor pariwisata. Masyarakat desa harus mampu mengenali keunikan yang dimiliki Desa Medowo, hal ini juga bisa dijadikan peluang membentuk mata pencaharian baru pada sektor UMKM. Kata kunci: Strategi promosi, desa wisata, pariwisata.

Abstract

The background to the problems faced in society, especially the Malang area, East Java, is that several natural disasters have occurred which have resulted in victims. Therefore, education is needed from an early age in order to minimize the number of victims of natural disasters. The aim of this research is to develop a disaster mitigation book for disaster education in elementary schools. The development of learning media in the form of disaster mitigation books is very necessary so that elementary school students have readiness, both knowledge and skills related to the threat of disasters around them and can behave well when a disaster occurs. The research method used is development research with the ADDIE model. Activities are carried out in the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The data collection techniques used were questionnaires and documentation. The research subjects involved were material experts and media experts for elementary school education. Data analysis uses percentage techniques and descriptions of research results. The research procedure starts from initial analysis, product design, product development, product application, and product evaluation. The research results show that the book developed received a positive response from validators. Based on the assessment of material expert validators, the product obtained results of 93.75%. Based on the assessment of media experts, the book product received a score of 98%. These results prove that the product developed can be categorized as a very valid product based on the results of expert validator assessments and can be said to be suitable for elementary school students.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine perceptions and preferences for the forms of assignments that students expect and usually receive during lectures. The research used quantitative methods; the respondents are 118 students from UM Sociology Education. Through this research, lecturers can obtain initial diagnostic data, which researchers can use as considerations before planning the Semester Learning Plan (RPS). Therefore, the teaching process can accommodate government directions regarding team-based projects and student preferences. Apart from that, this survey also reflects on the lectures that lecturers have carried out so far. As a result, there was no significant difference in preferences between individual and group assignment forms. The form of article writing is the form of assessment for Mid-Semester Exams and Final Exams that lecturers often use, while most students prefer the form of product assessment. Over 50% of students did not support team teaching in one course.

Abstract

Rendahnya minat baca di masyarakat menjadi tantangan dalam pengembangan literasi di Kota Malang. Salah satu upaya untuk mengatasinya adalah melalui keberadaan perpustakaan jalanan. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi peran Sabtu Membaca sebagai gerakan sosial yang berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan kebiasaan membaca masyarakat. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif, penelitian ini dilakukan di Taman Slamet, Kota Malang. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi dan wawancara dengan teknik purposive sampling, kemudian dianalisis melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Sabtu Membaca, yang didirikan oleh Cak Pendek pada 2017, menjadi ruang baca inklusif bagi masyarakat tanpa memandang latar belakang sosial atau ekonomi. Dengan pendekatan gerakan sosial, komunitas ini tumbuh dari keresahan terhadap rendahnya minat baca dan berupaya membangun budaya literasi yang lebih kuat. Keberadaannya tidak hanya menyediakan akses terhadap bahan bacaan tetapi juga membentuk ekosistem literasi yang lebih luas di Kota Malang.The low reading interest in society poses a challenge to literacy development in Malang City. One initiative to address this issue is the presence of street libraries. This study explores the role of Sabtu Membaca as a social movement contributing to the enhancement of reading habits in the community. Using a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, the research was conducted at Taman Slamet, Malang City. Data were collected through observations and interviews using purposive sampling, then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that Sabtu Membaca, founded by Cak Pendek in 2017, has become an inclusive reading space for the community, regardless of social or economic background. As a social movement, this community emerged from concerns over low reading interest and strives to build a stronger literacy culture. Its presence not only provides access to reading materials but also fosters a broader literacy ecosystem in Malang City.

Abstract

Pemahaman guru pada dunia publikasi sangat minim yang berdampak pada rendahnya karya ilmiah guru. Kegiatan ini dilakukan untuk stimulus dan meningkatkan produktivitas guru dengan metode Participatory Action Research (PAR) yang membekali guru mengenai: 1) Penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis Team Based Project pada Mata Pelajaran Sosiologi di level SMA/MA; 2) Melakukan mini riset yang menghasilkan karya ilmiah; 3) Pelatihan mengenai berbagai metode dan pendekatan dalam melakukan penelitian bidang sosiologi; 4) Tips menentukan topik yang menarik untuk dibahas, penyusunan instrumen penelitian, teknik menggali data penelitian di lapangan, mengolah hasil data lapangan, pelaporan karya ilmiah; 5) Menyusun hasil penelitian menjadi sebuah artikel ilmiah yang siap untuk dipublikasikan, guru dibekali cara menulis artikel ilmiah; 6) Guru dibekali wawasan mengenai dunia publikasi ilmiah tentang jurnal dan prosiding baik nasional maupun internasional; 7) Guru diajarkan bagaimana cara submit jurnal, dan cara mendaftar dalam prosiding; 8) Guru diajarkan penggunaan aplikasi Mandeley dan Zotero untuk melakukan pengutipan dalam penulisan artikel; 9) Guru diajarkan mengenai etika publikasi ilmiah; dan 10) Guru dikenalkan berbagai aplikasi uji plagiasi artikel seperti Turnitin, Plagiarism Checker, Small Seo Tools, dan cara pengaplikasiannya. Akhirnya guru dapat menghasilkan artikel ilmiah yang siap dipublikasikan.

Abstract

Learning desain is evidence of the teacher’s readiness to carry out their teaching duties in the classroom. Through good learning design, learning activities will encourage students to be more active and achieve learning objectives. Therefore, teachers need to have the ability to design learning that suits the needs of students. Activities to improve the ability of sociology teachers to design learning aim to create learning conditions that are in line with the needs of students. This activity increases the opportunity to develop effective and efficient learning conditions according to the characteristics of students and school facilities. The stages of the activity are divided into three, namely planning, implementation, and evaluation. In the planning activity, coordination was carried out with the community namely MGMP Sosiologi in Malang Raya and East Jawa in SMA and MA as activity partners. In addition, with the involvement of MGMP, information was obtained on urgent needs from sociology teachers, especially in Malang Raya. The implementation mechanism in divided into two, namely offline and online. Online activities are divided into two sessions discussing learning achievements and innovative learning models. The offline session discusses assessment, preparation of teaching modules, and understanding by design. The evaluation results show that the majority of participants get a good impact from the activities such as understanding the material and experience received during the activities from the methods used by the speakers. Based on the training results, teacher are encourage to be able to desaign learning according to the applicable curriculum.
