Abstract

Vitamin E yang terkandung dalam ekstrak buah alpukat dapat berfungsi sebagai antioksidan yang dapat menangkal radikal bebas sehingga dapat merawat kulit serta menjaga agar kulit tetap lembab dan lembut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat sediaan krim tubuh dengan konsentrasi emulgator yang berbeda dan mengetahui evaluasi fisik formula krim tubuh yang stabil dari varian konsentrasi emulgator. Metode pembuatan ekstrak yaitu dengan metode maserasi, yang akan di hasilkan ekstrak cair,kemudian di hasilkan ekstrak kental dengan menggunakan rotavapor, sedangkan metode pembuatan krim, dengan peleburan, terkecuali ekstrak.Hasil penelitian menunjukan formula body cream ekstrak buah alpukat dapat dibuat dengan konsentrasi emulgator sebesar 0.5% b/b, 1.5%b/b, dan 2%b/b, dan menunjukan bahwa uji evaluasi fisik sediaan body cream ekstrak buah alpukat memenuhi syarat kestabilan. Hasil  uji organoleptik pada masing –masing formula tidak mengalami perubahan. Pada uji pH, nilai pH masing –masing formula yaitu 5 dan ini menunjukan bahwa pH sediaan cream ini sesuai dengan pH kulit yaitu pada pH 4,5-6,5. Uji daya sebar dapat tersebar. Sedangkan hasil uji homogenitas tetep homogen. Kata Kunci  : Body Cream, ekstrak, buah alpukat, formulasi.

Abstract

Empowerment Of Al-Fatah Mosque Adolescent Association in Conditional Herbal Drinks As Health Drinks To Ward Off Free Radicals In The Era Of Pandemic Covid-19Like other general youth, Mosque youth have great energy that needs to be pushed in a useful direction, such as empowerment in producing the products needed during a pandemic. The purpose of this activity is to increase the knowledge of the Al-Fatah Mosque Youth Association about making contemporary herbal drinks which can also be efficacious as health drinks to maintain the body's immune system, increase knowledge and understanding of the benefits of herbal drinks for health, increase skills in making herbal drinks and increase strong desire in maintaining health by consuming herbal drinks. The implementation method used is counseling, demonstrations, training, coaching, and mentoring. Community service activities with the target audience being teenagers at the Al-Fatah Mosque in Connect Java sub-district attended by approximately 35 participants, where this activity provided knowledge about the importance of maintaining health by consuming herbal drinks every day and knowledge about entrepreneurship from herbal/herbal drinks with good taste can increase the desire or eliminate the lazy impression of drinking herbal medicine.Keywords: herbal drink, mosque youth, immune system, free radicalsRemaja masjid seperti remaja umum lainnya memiliki energi yang besar yang perlu didorong ke arah yang bermanfaat seperti pemberdayaan dalam menghasilkan produk yang diperlukan selama masa pandemi.. Tujuan kegiatan ini yaitu peningkatan pengetahuan ikatan Remaja Masjid Al-Fatah tentang pembuatan minuman herbal kekinian yang juga dapat berkhasiat sebagai minuman kesehatan untuk memelihara sistem imun tubuh, peningkatan pengetahuan dan pemahaman tentang manfaat minuman herbal bagi kesehatan, peningkatan keterampilan dalam pembuatan minuman herbal. Metode pelaksanaan yang dilakukan adalah penyuluhan, demonstrasi, pelatihan, pembinaan dan pendampingan. Kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat dengan khalayak sasaran remaja Masjid Al-Fatah kelurahan Sambung Jawa dihadiri kurang lebih 35 peserta yang dibagi menjadi beberapa rangkaian kegiatan mulai dari registrasi, pemberian ceramah, praktik pembuatan dan evaluasi kegiatan yang mana hasil kegiatan menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan tentang pentingnya menjaga kesehatan dengan mengonsumsi minuman herbal setiap hari dan pengetahuan tentang kewirausahaan dari Minuman herbal / jamu dengan rasa yang enak dapat menambah keinginan atau menghilangkan kesan malas minum jamu.Kata kunci: Minuman herbal, remaja masjid, imun tubuh, radikal bebas.

Abstract

Polyphenols contained in the skin of red dragon fruit are efficacious as antioxidants which can be used as topical preparations. Polyphenols are polar, making it difficult to penetrate through the stratum corneum of skin which is rich in lipids. The way that can be done to increase the rate of drug penetration through the skin is the addition of a propylene glycol penetration enhancer. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of adding propylene glycol as a penetration enhancer on the diffusion rate of polyphenols from red dragon fruit peel extract gel. This type of research was experimental by testing the physical quality of red dragon fruit skin extract gel preparations using the accelerated stability test method and penetration-diffusion testing. Gel preparations were made in 4 formulas with varying concentrations of propylene glycol 5% (F1), 7.5% (F2), 10% (F3) and negative control without propylene glycol. The results showed that all formulas met the physical quality test requirements. Then a penetration test was carried out using a Franz diffusion cell for 4 hours with a phosphate buffer diffusion medium pH 7.4. Polyphenol equivalence treatment was carried out by spectrophotometry. The cumulative amount of polyphenols that diffuses through the membrane after 4 hours is 176.15 µg/cm2 for (F1), 232.76 µg/cm2 for (F2), 239.67 µg/cm2 for (F3) and 126.45 µg/cm2 for (F0). This study concludes that varying the concentration of the penetration enhancer propylene glycol has an effect on the diffusion rate of polyphenols from red dragon fruit skin extract gel preparations, with formula 3 producing the greatest diffusion rate effect.

Abstract

The Utilization and Development of Family Medicinal Plants In An Effort To Improve Public Health Based On Local Wisdom In Kapasa District, Tamalanrea District, Makassar CityBackground: Community empowerment in the Kapasa village, Tamalanrea sub-district, Makassar city in the utilization and development of family medicinal plants to empower and improve the degree of public health based on local wisdom can be used to support the existence of the Kapasa village in the region. The aim of this activity: (1). Increase community knowledge, especially housewives, about the scientific uses of family medicinal plants, (2). Increase community knowledge, especially housewives, about the types and methods of planting medicinal plants, (3). Empowering and improving skills to utilize medicinal plants to the community, especially in Kapasa village, Tamalanrea sub-district, Makassar city. Methods: The implementation of community service is carried out by counselling, training and practice. Counseling and training to introduce the types and uses of family medicinal plants scientifically, cultivation, and utilization of family medicinal plants and practice processing family medicinal plants as raw herbal medicines. Outputs are scientific articles, community service modules Conclusion: After carrying out community service activities, it can be concluded as follows: Community service activities are one of the tri darma of higher education which is beneficial to the community, especially to residents of the Kapasa sub-district, Tamalanrea sub-district, Makassar city. The level of knowledge and understanding of medicinal plants before community service activities were carried out was still relatively low, namely around 10 people (28%), after the education was carried out there was an increase of 35 people (100%) in the level of knowledge and understanding of herbal plants.Keywords: Empowerment, Community, Toga, local wisdom.Latar Belakang: Pemberdayaan masyarakat di kelurahan Kapasa, kecamatan Tamalanrea, kota Makassar dalam pemanfaatan dan pengembangan tanaman obat keluarga dalam usaha Pemberdayaan serta meningkatkan derajat kesehatan masyarakat yang berbasis kearifan lokal dapat digunakan untuk mendukung keberadaan kelurahan Kapasa dalam wilayah tersebut. Untuk itu dilakukan pengabdian masyarakat dengan Tujuan Kegiatan: (1). Menambah ilmu masyarakat khususnya ibu rumah tangga mengenai kegunaan tanaman obat keluarga secara ilmiah, (2). Menambah pengetahuan Masyarakat Khususnya ibu rumah tangga tentang jenis-jenis serta cara menanam tanaman obat, (3). Memberdayakan dan Meningkatkan keterampilan untuk memanfaatkan Tanaman obat kepada masyarakat khususnya di kelurahan Kapasa, Kec. Tamalanrea, Kota Makassar. Metode Kegiatan: Pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan penyuluhan, Pelatihan dan praktik. Penyuluhan dan pelatihan untuk memperkenalkan jenis – jenis dan kegunaan tanaman obat keluarga secara ilmiah, pembudidayaan, dan pemanfaatan tanaman obat keluarga serta praktik mengolah tanaman obat keluarga sebagai baku obat herbal. Capaian Luaran adalah artikel ilmiah, modul pengabdian masyarakat Kesimpulan: Setelah dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat maka dapat disimpulkan sebagai berikut: Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat merupakan salah satu tri darma perguruan tinggi yang bermanfaat untuk masyarakat khususnya kepada warga kelurahan Kapasa kecamatan Tamalanrea kota Makassar. Tingkat pengetahuan dan pemahaman tentang tanaman obat sebelum dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat masih tergolong rendah yaitu sekitar 10 orang (28%), setelah dilakukan edukasi ternyata terjadi peningkatan sebesar 35 orang (100%) tingkat pengetahuan dan pemahaman tentang tanaman herbal.Kata Kunci : Pemberdayaan, Masyarakat, Toga, kearifan lokal.

Abstract

Minyak kuda (Equus caballus) sering digunakan oleh masyarakat Jeneponto untuk menyembuhkan luka, namun bukti ilmiah tentang hal tersebut masih kurang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektifitas dari minyak kuda pada penyembuhan luka kelinci jantan (Oryctolagus cuniculus). Minyak kuda diperoleh dari lemak kuda pada bagian perutnya yang dibuat dengan metode destilasi uap air. Minyak yang diperoleh kemudian diberikan pada kelinci jantan yang terlebih dahulu diberikan luka sepanjang 3 cm dengan kedalaman 0,2 cm, kemudian untuk pembanding digunakan betadin dan sebagai kontrol negatif tidak diberi perlakuan. Pengamatan dilakukan selama 7 hari dengan melihat perubahan panjang luka pada kelinci jantan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi penurunan luka yang signifikan antara tiap perlakuan dimana pada hari ke-7 rata-rata menunjukkan adanya perubahan namun kelompok perlakuan dengan pemberian minyak kuda lukanya sudah sembuh dibandingkan dengan betadin dan kontrol negatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan analisis data maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa  pemberian minyak kuda murni efektif dalam menyembuhkan luka kelinci jantan namun efeknya tidak jauh berbeda dengan betadin.Horse oil (Equus caballus) is often used by the people of Jeneponto to heal wounds, but scientific evidence regarding this is still lacking. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of horse oil on wound healing in male rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus). Horse oil is obtained from horse fat in the stomach, which is made by the steam distillation method. The oil obtained was then given to male rabbits, which were first given a 3 cm wound with a depth of 0.2 cm, then betadine was used as a comparison, and as a negative control, they were not given any treatment. Observations were made for 7 days by observing changes in the length of the wound in male rabbits. The results showed that there was a significant reduction in wound size between each treatment; on the 7th day, the average showed a change, but the treatment group with horse oil had healed compared to betadine and negative controls. Based on the results of the research and data analysis, it can be concluded that giving pure horse oil is effective in healing the wounds of male rabbits, but the effect is not much different from betadine.

Abstract

Anti Diabetes Effect Of Maja (Aegle marmelos L.) Leaf Extract On Zebrafish (Danio rerio) Several studies show the effectiveness of Maja leaves in Diabetes mellitus, however further proof is still needed to confirm the effectiveness of Maja leaves, one of which is by using experimental animals that are more similar to humans such as Zebrafish (Danio rerio). This research aims to determine the anti-diabetic effectiveness of maja leaf extract (Aegle marmelos L.) on Zebrafish (Danio rerio) after being induced by Aloxan. Maja leaves (Aegle marmelos L.) were extracted using the maceration method. This research was carried out using Aloxan and 0.1% glucose as inducers, and Metformin as a positive control, with extract doses of 200 mg/2L, 300 mg/2L, and 400 mg/2L. The results of the observations showed that the average decrease for each treatment group was that the negative control group given Aloxan and 0.1% glucose had an average decrease of 130 ± 15.6 mg/dL, the group given 200 mg maja leaf extract had an average decrease was 62.33 ± 15 mg/dL, for the group given 300 mg maja leaf extract had an average decrease of 68 ± 15 mg/dL, the group given 400 mg maja leaf extract had an average decrease of 67±11.5mg/dL and the positive control group given Metformin had an average reduction of 57.66±12.7mg/dL. So it can be concluded that maja leaf extract 200 mg, 300 mg, and 400 mg has been proven to significantly reduce blood glucose levels in zebrafish (p<0.05). Terdapat beberapa penelitian yang menunjukkan efektivitas Daun Maja pada Diabetes melitus, namun pembuktian lebih lanjut masih diperlukan untuk memastikan efektivitas daun Maja, salah satunya dengan menggunakan hewan coba yang lebih memiliki kemiripan dengan manusia seperti Zebrafish (Danio rerio). Tujuan dari Penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas anti diabetes esktrak Daun maja (Aegle marmelos L.) pada Zebrafish (danio rerio) setelah diinduksi Aloxan. Daun maja (Aegle marmelos L.) diekstraksi dengan menggunakan metode maserasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan Aloxan dan glukosa 0,1% sebagai penginduksi, Metformin sebagai kontrol positif, dengan dosis ekstrak 200 mg/2L, 300 mg/2L, dan 400 mg/2L. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata penurunan untuk setiap kelompok perlakuan yaitu pada kelompok kontrol negatif yang diberi Aloxan dan glukosa 0,1% memiliki rata-rata penurunan sebesar 130 ±15,6 mg/dL, kelompok yang diberi ekstrak daun maja 200 mg memiliki rata-rata penurunan sebesar 62,33±15 mg/dL, untuk kelompok yang diberi ekstrak daun maja 300 mg memiliki rata-rata penurunan sebesar 68 ± 15 mg/dL, kelompok yang diberi ekstrak daun maja 400 mg memiliki rata-rata penurunan sebesar 67±11,5mg/dL dan untuk kelompok kontrol positif yang diberi Metformin memiliki rata-rata penurunan sebesar 57,66±12,7mg/dL. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak daun maja 200 mg, 300 mg, dan 400 mg terbukti dapat menurunkan kadar glukosa darah pada Zebrafish secara signifikan (p<0,05).

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a common metabolic disorder defined as chronic hyperglycemia. In addition to the symptoms associated with hyperglycemia itself such as thirst, polyuria and weight loss, it can also cause acute hyperglycemia emergencies that are potentially life threatening. One of the traditional plants that has potential as an antidiabetic drug is the taro plant (Colocasia esculenta L) because it contains chemical compounds such as alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins and polyphenols which are known to have antidiabetic effects. This study aims to determine the effectiveness and what dose of Taro Leaf Extract gives the best effect of reducing blood glucose levels in zebrafish. This study used zebrafish (Danio rerio) induced with alloxan and glucose to raise blood glucose levels. The 20 test animals used were divided into 6 groups, namely group 1 without treatment (normal), group 2 control (-) alloxan induction 0.1% + glucose 1%, group 3 control (+) metformin, group 4 taro leaf extract 200 mg, group 5 taro leaf extract 300 mg, group 6 taro leaf extract 400 mg. Then glucose levels were measured using a glucometer. Data analysis was carried out statistical tests. The results showed that a dose of 400 mg/2L had the ability to reduce blood glucose levels that were not significantly different from normal zebrafish glucose levels.

Abstract

Rhizomes of reeds (Imperata cylindrical L.) and leaves of kumis Kucing (Orthosiphon aristatus Benth.) are traditional medicines used as diuretics. The flavonoids contained in these two plants have biological activity as a diuretic. In this study, 15 mice were separated into 5 groups, each containing 3 mice as test subjects. Group 1 was given aquadest. Group 2 was given furosemide 20 mg/kg BW, boiled reeds with a concentration of 60%: 40% cat's whiskers leaves was given to group 3, reed rhizome decoction with a concentration of 50%: 50% cat's whiskers leaves was given to group 4, and group 5 was given reed rhizome decoction with a concentration of 40%: 60% cat whiskers leaves. The treatment group was studied for 4 hours and the volume of urine was recorded every 30 minutes. The results of the study showed that boiled cat's whisker leaf alang-alang rhizomes from the third concentration group had a diuretic effect where the mice excreted urine for the first time in the 60th minute. The group showing positive controls and negative controls excreted urine for the first time at 30 minutes. Keywords:          Diuretics, reeds, cat whiskers, mice   Abstrak Rimpang alang-alang (Imperata cylindrical L.) dan daun kumis kucing (Orthosiphon aristatus Benth.) merupakan salah satu obat tradisional yang digunakan sebagai diuretik. Flavonoid yang terkandung dalam kedua tanaman inilah yang mempunyai aktivitas biologis sebagai diuretik. Pada penelitian ini, 15 ekor mencit dipisahkan menjadi 5 kelompok yang masing-masing berisi 3 ekor mencit sebagai subjek uji. Kelompok 1 diberikan akuades. Kelompok 2 diberikan larutan furosemide 20 mg/kg BB, rebusan alang-alang dengan konsentrasi 60% : 40% daun kumis kucing diberikan pada kelompok 3, rebusan rimpang alang-alang dengan konsentrasi 50% : 50% daun kumis kucing diberikan pada kelompok 4, dan kelompok 5 diberikan rebusan rimpang alang-alang dengan konsentrasi 40%: 60% daun kumis kucing. Kelompok perlakuan tersebut diteliti selama 4 jam dan dicatat volume urin tiap 30 menit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rebusan rimpang alang-alang daun kumis kucing dari ketiga kelompok konsentrasi memiliki efek diuretik dimana mencit mengeluarkan urin pertama kali pada menit ke-60. Kelompok mencit kontrol positif dan kontrol negatif mengeluarkan urin pertama kali pada menit ke-30. Kata Kunci:         Diuretik, alang-alang, kumis kucing, mencit

Abstract

A nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug called ketoprofen is used to treat musculoskeletal and joint disorders, including osteoarthritis. Ketoprofen has a low solubility in water, which is a major obstacle to the absorption of the drug into the body.However, by using emulsification ion gelation technology, it is possible to create microparticles, which can improve the solubility of ketoprofen. . The aim of this study was to use emulsification and ion gelation to produce ketoprofen microparticles with higher solubility. SEM was used to characterize the structure of the ketoprofen particles. Subsequently, ketoprofen solubility and content tests were performed. When the properties were evaluated using SEM microparticles, the particle size gradually decreased from pH2, pH4, and pH6, and the water solubility of the drug increased due to the small particle size of the generated microparticles. After the emulsification-ionic gelation process, the solubility of ketoprofen increased two-fold and the pH of water increased two-fold compared to untreated ketoprofen. From this, it can be concluded that polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and tripolyphosphoric acid (TPP) effectively improved the solubility of sparingly water-soluble ketoprofen in the emulsification ion gelation process of ketoprofen production.

Abstract

Incorporation Of Jarak Pagar Leaves Extract (Jatropha Curcas L) In Transdermal Patch As Antihyperglycemic ; Formulation And Pancreatic Histopathology Transdermal patches are known to have a more immediate therapeutic effect and could avoid the risk of side effects that may arise compared to oral. This study aimed to produce Jarak Pagar leaves ethanolic extract transdermal patch (JPL-EETP) to enhance the penetration of Jarak Pagar leaves extract (JPL-EE) to maximize the systemic therapeutic effect of antidiabetics. In addition, easy and enjoyable medication could improve patient compliance. Transdermal patch was prepared by making the formula of JPL-EETP with different concentrations of extract with solvent-evaporated methods. JPL-EETP optimization was carried out by determining the pH, aeration, folding resistance, and organoleptic. Furthermore, the optimal JPL-EETP formulas were followed by the in vivo assay, ex vivo assay, and pancreatic histopathology assay. The JPL-EETP physicall determination were carried out the appropriate of transdermal patch measurements.  F3 with an JPL-EE concentration of 1.75 g can provide an antidiabetic effect on in vivo asay that is as good as oral antihyperglycemic drugs (p>0.05). Ex vivo study confirmed that the gallate acid permeation across the porcine skin of F2 showed higher percentage of permeation of 94,2% respectively after 24 h. The histophatology assay presence no significant difference between the surface area of ​​the islets of Langerhans and the histopathological after administration of metformin or Jarak Pagar leaves extract transdermal patch. The results suggest that Jarak Pagar leaves ethanolic extract transdermal patch is a potential candidate of antidiabetics drug from natural source and can provide a higher patient compliance along with effectiveness in the management and treatment of diabetes which can be easily applied to the skin. Sediaan patch transdermal diketahui memiliki efek terapi yang lebih cepat dan dapat amenghindari resiko efek samping yang mungkin timbul dibanding sediaan oral. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat ekstrak etanol daun Jarak Pagar (PT-EJPL) yang diformulasikan dalam bentuk patch transdermal untuk meningkatkan efektifitasnya sebagai antihiperglikemi. Patch transdermal dibuat dalam beberapa konsentrasi EJPL dengan metode solvent-evaporated. Karakteristik PT-EJPL ditentukan dengan pengukuran pH, daya lipat, dan uji organoleptik. Penentuan efek antihiperglikemi dilakukan secara in vivo menggunakan tikus wistar putih. Persentase pelepasan fenolik dilakukan secara ex vivo menggunakan kulit babi selama 24 jam. Analisis pakreas histopatologi dilakukan dengan melihat luar area pulau langerhans sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan karateristik patch yang sesuai persyaratan. Formula 3 dengan konsentrasi EEJPL 1.75 g menunjukkan efek antihiperglikemi pakling baik (p<0.05) sejalan dengan hasil uji pelepasan asam gallat pada F3 mencapai 94,2% pada jam ke 24. Analisis histopatologi luas permukaan sel langerhans menunjukkan tidak perbedaan signifikan antara kelompok kontrol dan perlakuan (p>0.05). Penelitian ini berhasil memformulasikan EJPL kedalam sistem penghantaran transdermal dan dapat dipertimbangkan sebagai kandidat antidiabetik herbal.
