Abstract

Understanding environmental literacy is essential for prospective physics teachers to develop responsible behaviors in responding to environmental changes. However, assessing attitudes toward the environment remains challenging due to the limitations of existing instruments. This study evaluates the feasibility of an environmental affect instrument designed for prospective physics teachers in environmental physics courses. The research employed Thiagarajan’s 4D development model, which consists of four stages: define, design, develop, and disseminate. The instrument was validated by experts and users, with expert validation analyzed using Aiken’s V, user validity assessed through Pearson correlation, and reliability measured using Cronbach’s Alpha. Data analysis was conducted using Microsoft Excel and SPSS 16.0. The findings indicate that the developed instrument is highly valid, with an Aiken V value of 0.83 from expert validation. User validation resulted in 18 valid items and two invalid ones, while the reliability coefficient (Cronbach's Alpha) was 0.81, indicating high reliability. Consequently, 18 out of the 20 developed items are suitable for broader implementation. These findings provide a valuable tool for physics education lecturers and study programs in assessing students' environmental attitudes.

Abstract

Abstract

This research is motivated by the use of teaching materials that are not varied, and the discussion of physics material is considered difficult due to students' lack of critical thinking. This resulted in students having difficulty understanding the concepts and equations contained in the sound wave material, thus requiring an appropriate learning model, namely discovery learning, where students are expected to overcome the problems faced. So, the development of e-modules based on discovery learning was assisted by Physics Education Technology (PhET) Simulation as a substitute for actual practicum. This study aims to determine the design, feasibility, and practicality of discovery learning-based physics learning e-modules assisted by PhET Simulation on sound wave material. The Alessi and Trollip development model guides an e-module based on discovery learning assisted by PhET Simulation because it is suitable for use in this research model. The resulting product is in electronic form and has three stages, namely: (1) Planning, (2) Design, and (3) Development. The product produced from this research is a learning e-module. Based on the alpha test of media and material experts with a very feasible category of 94.09% and based on the beta test getting a value of 93.92% very feasible category. So, e-modules based on discovery learning assisted by PhET Simulation can be used as physics learning materials on sound wave material, this e-module product can accelerate and clarify abstract theories on sound wave material for students' understanding. The study refers to one material in physics lessons at school, the object of research is still lacking, in the future it can expand the study on other physics materials and expand or increase data for beta testing by manipulating other research variables.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the limited availability of physics learning resources, which are mostly textbooks, the lack of integration of Islamic values, and the implementation of a teacher-centered education system, resulting in reduced active student participation in the learning process. The aim of this research is to determine the feasibility and practicality of developing a REACT-based module with Quranic integration on temperature and heat material in SMA/MA. This research uses a type of R&D research with a 4D model which has several stages, namely the definition stage, design stage, development stage and disseminate stage. The instruments used in this research were material expert validation sheets, media expert validation sheets, as well as interpretation expert validation sheets and questionnaires. The research results obtained from material expert validation were 94%, media expert validation was 98%, and interpretation expert validation was 93%, resulting in an overall feasibility percentage of 95% with very feasible criteria, as well as practical results obtained from student responses. amounting to 88% with very practical criteria. It can be concluded that the REACT-based module with Quranic integration in temperature and heat material in SMA/MA is very feasible and very practical to use in the learning process.
