Abstract

Cooling using air conditioning in passenger vehicles is very important for the user's comfort. The study aims to get the effect of double blowers on the cooling performance of passenger vehicles. The research was conducted using laboratory-scale equipment. The wind speed of the blower varied by 3.1; 3.5 and 3.7 m/s. To measure wind speed using a digital anemometer. Cabin room temperature is measured using type K thermocouples for 4 measurement points, namely the left rear passenger seat (point 1), the right rear passenger seat (point 2), then the front passenger seat (point 3), and the driver's position (point 4). Measurement times varied by 5, 10, 15 and 20 minutes. Visualizing airflow using the smoke method and recorded with a camera. In this study showed that the double blower system affects the cooling performance of passenger vehicle air conditioners

Abstract

Tobacco stems contain up to 35-50% cellulose, make them ideal for use as a renewable energy source. Tobacco varieties Na Oogst and Voor Oogst are characterized by their growing season. This study aims to obtain the effect of comparison of tobacco variants on the characteristics of bioethanol products. Each type is distinguished by its particle size (a) : 8-10 mm, (b) : 1.19 mm, (c) : 0.25 mm. A total of 100 grams of material was delignified using 1 liter of 4% HCl for 30 minutes. The material is then fermented using 10 grams of yeast for 10 days and distilled at a temperature of 78-80oC. Using Image J Software, the volume of the product is measured and then burned to examine the characteristics of the fire based on the duration of the flame, the percentage of color, and the dimensions of the flame. The volume of the product is also affected by particle size. The Na Oogst variant had the maximum volume with a particle size (c) of 120 ml and the lowest volume with a particle size (a) of 29 ml. The best fire characteristics were obtained in the Voor Oogst variant with particle size (c) and a blue flame percentage of 48 percent, whereas the Na Oogst variant with particle size (a) and a blue flame percentage of 10.2 percent had the lowest blue flame percentage.

Abstract

The ball mill machine for grinding red brick waste is a tool for crushing red brick waste into powder. Factors that influence the production process are the length of time and the number of solid balls. This study aims to determine the effect of variations in the length of time and the comparison of the number of solid balls on the performance of the ball mill machine for grinding red brick waste. The method used in this study includes variations in the length of time and the ratio of the number of solid balls with a time of 10,15, and 20 minutes with a ratio of the number of solid balls 5:0, 5:5, 5:8 and 5:10. Measurement of the results of red brick powder using a wire-mesh with a size of 16; 60; and 100 mesh. The results showed that there was an effect of treatment variations in the length of time and the ratio of the number of solid balls to the production capacity of the red brick waste grinding machine. Where the highest value was obtained at a 5:0 ball ratio variation with an experimental length of 20 minutes with a mass difference of 104 grams, and the lowest result was obtained at a 5:5 ratio weighing 11 grams with an experimental time of 10 minutes.

Abstract

Abstract The characteristics of young coconut skin, which has high fiber content, are often an obstacle factor in the peeling process. Setting the rotation speed and angle of the slicing knife are important parameters that affect the cutting style of the coconut peeler knife. This study aims to determine the production capacity, electrical power requirements, and physical quality of the peeling results on the young coconut peeler machine. The experiment was carried out using variations in the sharpness of the blade angle, namely 10o, 15 o, and 25 o. Young coconut material is selected with relatively the same diameter and weight. The results showed that the knife angle variation of 15o had the highest production capacity of 499 pieces/hour. Research on economic analysis generates Rp. 1.093/hour while for electric power or the cost of electricity required per unit is Rp. 19/piece. This research can be concluded that the variation of the angle of the blade that has optimum performance is shown in the variation of the angle of 15 o. Abstract

ATV is a vehicle with engine drive using a combustion engine, ATV is designed to have maneuverability supported by a lightweight and strong frame construction, a tough engine, and an adequate suspension system. Almost similar to cars, ATVs have applied Aeckermann's steering and independent suspension. At first ATVs were only used by plantation owners for their means of transportation, but along with the development of the times ATVs can be used for many activities in the automotive world such as racing, motorbikes for nature explorers, operational vehicles for the SAR team or in Indonesia many are rented out for cross-country activities at tourist sites. This study discusses the effect of the load on the performance of the steering system on a 110 cc ATV motorbike which is planned to be modified into an electric motor as the main engine. To measure the load on the performance of the design steering system using a digital dynamometer that is linked from the steering wheel to the ATV motor frame, to determine the weight of the steering wheel against the load, it is done with variations in the steering radius of 100, 150, 250, and 350 and giving a load of 0, 50, 75 kg. Later the digital dynamometer will read automatically when the variation of the experiment is carried out. The purpose of the study was to obtain the effect of the weight of the load on the performance of the motor steering system on a 110 cc ATV motor vehicle. In this study, changes in the load received by the steering wheel are expected to affect the magnitude of the moment to be received. This parameter is one of the performance of a steering system. The increase in payload causes the steering system to become heavier. This is due to the influence of the weight of the load pressing the seat (load point) which is forwarded to the vehicle frame, this is due to the gravitational force of the load on the vehicle, so that the steering system directly receives the load pressure which is transmitted to the tires. From this steering tire gets heavy friction from the road surface, so turning the steering wheel becomes heavy or difficult. Keywords: load, steering, ATV, performance

Abstract

Research has been carried out with the aim of obtaining the effect of adding "kepok" banana fiber (Musa Pasadisianca) to the compressive strength of the brick. The study was conducted in a true experiment with variations in the ratio of the addition of banana fiber by 1.6; 2.5; and 3.3 gram. applying pressure to each specimen in variation 3; 5; and 7 N/m, the compressive strength test was carried out to obtain the mechanical properties of the product. The results showed that the percentage decrease in mass and product dimensions increased along with the pressure applied to the specimen. Depreciation of the mass of brick products is accompanied by changes in the value of the water content of the product. The compressive strength of the bricks increases with the percentage of the given fiber weight. Keywords: compressive strength, concrete brick, fiber, kepok banana (musa pasadisianca), mix ratio.

Abstract

Padi (oryza sativa) merupakan salah satu bahan makanan berbasis biji – bijian terbesar kedua di dunia. Di Indonesia, padi telah menjadi komoditas strategis yang dapat mempengaruhi berbagai aspek kehidupan. Hal ini dikarenakan padi merupakan sumber makanan utama sebagian besar penduduk di Indonesia. Pengeringan yang dilakukan masyarakat saat ini masih secara manual, akibat dari hal tersebut mengakibatkan kadar air produk yang dihasilkan tidak seragam. Pembalikan gabah bertujuan untuk meratakan suhu gabah sehingga menimbulkan keseragaman kadar air gabah. Dengan berkembangnya teknologi pascapanen, menuntut tersedianya bahan baku yang bermutu tinggi untuk industri pengolahan hasil pertanian terutama padi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen variasi sudut screw convenyor terhadap karakterisitik pengeringan gabah rotary type. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa variasi sudut screw convenyor dan kecepatan aliran fluida panas deangan putaran screw 30 rpm berpengaruh terhadap karakteristik pengeringan gabah. Nilai kecepatan aliran fluida panas maksimal pada variasi katub blower penuh 8,47m/s dengan temperatur Tin 59,1⁰C dan Tout 33,97⁰C. Nilai debit gabah maksimal 4,59gr/s pada variasi screw 30⁰ bukaan katub hopper ¼. Nilai laju pengeringan maksimal 1,17g/s variasi screw 30⁰ bukaan katub blower ¼. Nilai perpindahan panas 123,54 Wm2K pada variasi screw 45⁰ bukaan katub blower penuh. Nilai penurunan kadar air gabah maksimal 7.0% variasi screw 30 bukaan katub blower ¼. Abstract

Abstrak Tumpahan minyak di lingkungan kerja, seperti bengkel otomotif, merupakan masalah serius yang memerlukan penanganan yang efektif untuk mencegah dampak negatif terhadap ekosistem dan kesehatan manusia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan teknologi bioadsorben berbahan serat alam yang efektif dalam menurunkan konsentrasi cairan limbah minyak di bengkel. Terdapat dua jenis serat alam yang digunakan, yaitu serat sabut kelapa (cocopeat), dan serat bambu pada rentang ukuran <25 µm tanpa proses aktivasi kimia. Pengujian menggunakan 5 gram serbuk untuk menurunkan cairan limbah pada volume total 225 ml. Lama waktu kontak adsorben terhadap larutan divariasi pada 1; 2; dan 5 menit dan selanjutnya dilakukan proses penyaringan menggunakan kertas Whatman-42. Analisis data adsorpsi meliputi laju dan efektifitas serap adsorben berdasarkan selisih berat masing-masing serbuk, volume cairan, dan konsentrasi minyak sebelum dan sesudah perlakukan. Hasil penelitian telah mengungkapkan kinerja adsorpsi minyak pada kedua serat alam. Serat cocopeat menunjukkan kinerja lebih optimal dibandingkan serat bambu dengan nilai efektifitas mencapai 22 % pada waktu kontak 5 menit. Studi morfologi telah mengkonfirmasi sifat adsorbansi pada struktur mikropori serat cocopeat. Kata kunci: adsorben, serat alam, tumpahan minyak, bengkel, pengembangan teknologi

Abstract

The increasing concern regarding microplastic contamination in aquatic environments necessitates effective separation technologies. This study investigates the impact of flow rate on the performance of a dual-inlet hydrocyclone in separating dissolved microplastic waste. The hydrocyclone, known for its centrifugal separation capabilities, is adapted with dual inlets to enhance separation efficiency. Various flow rates were tested to determine their effect on separation performance, focusing on separation efficiency and the classification of successfully separated microplastics. Experimental results indicate that flow rate significantly influences the separation efficiency of the hydrocyclone. Higher input flow rates result in increased pressure drops, with pressure losses ranging from 98-99.59%. The output flow rates at both outlets (O1 and O2) increase proportionally with the input flow rate. The highest microplastic separation occurred at an input flow rate of 70 ml/sec, where the clean side output (O1) had a density of 1.03% with an average particle size of 98 µm. At an input flow rate of 80 ml/sec, the clean side output had a density of 1.28% with an average particle size of 51 µm. This study provides valuable insights into optimizing hydrocyclone design for environmental applications, particularly in reducing microplastic pollution

Abstract

Pengelasan adalah bagian penting dari perkembangan modern karena melibatkan bagian penting yang sedang dikerjakan dan diperbaiki dalam dunia Industri. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui dampak hasil las listrik terhadap variasi pendinginan media air bersuhu 20o C, 24o C, 28o C pada baja ST 37 dengan ukuran 200 mm × 20 mm × 4 mm sebanyak 12 buah. Tipe sambungan las adalah butt joint-single V-groove dengan sudut kampuh sebesar 60° dan menggunakan alur pengelasan zig-zag yang mengacu pada ISO 9692. Elektroda las yang dipakai adalah RD-E6013, LB-E7016. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan semakin tinggi suhu pendinginan maka prosentase mikropori pada kedua sampel juga meningkat. Prosentase pori tertinggi terjadi pada jenis plat LB-E7016 dengan variasi pendinginan suhu hangat sebesar 14,76 %. Semakin meningkatnya suhu pendinginan, kekuatan impak juga akan meningkat. Kekuatan impak puncak terjadi pada jenis plat E.6013 dengan variasi pendinginan pada air dingin sebesar 14,01 J/mm2. kata kunci: Las SMAW, Baja ST 37, Pendinginan..
