Abstract

The rapid development of technology has shifted the conventional tourism industry towards the digitalization of the tourism sector. The emergence of travel booking platforms, as a form of technology-based service innovation, is able to simplify traveling activities and previous works of literature have indicated a positive relationship towards customer satisfaction. However, tourist's behavior has change become more demanding to involve in the creation of value in accordance with their needs and wants. The concept of value co-creation elaborates this issue, offering a new concept of value creation and new roles between service providers and tourists. This study aims to examine value co-creation as mediating variable between IT-based service innovation and customer satisfaction, using DART measurements and SEM-PLS is used to assess the model. The findings prove that IT-based service innovation positively influences value co-creation between users, which can increase customer satisfaction. However, IT-based service innovation does not have a direct impact on customer satisfaction, which indicates that value co-creation fully mediating the relationship between service innovation and customer satisfaction. Thus to enhance customer satisfaction, service providers need to propose service innovation that facilitates customer involvement in value creation, which can be supported by technology. Keywords: Customer satisfaction, Service innovation, Tourism, Travel booking platform, Value co-creation.

Abstract

The carbon credit market plays a crucial role in global goal of reaching "net-zero emissions" by 2050. However, such businesses within this market face serious challenges such as being vulnerable to credibility and financial issues. This study delves into the Kutub Selatan case, a prominent carbon credit project developer company that was suffered by reputational damage due to over-crediting allegations of the Kariba REDD+ project and received a lot of negative media sentiments. This reputational crisis led to a massive loss of revenue, client trust, and investor confidence, eventually manifesting as financial losses despite all recovery efforts. This research aims to determine the root cause of the company's financial losses, identify areas of revenue enhancement and cost efficiency, and explore the best scenario or strategy of attaining maximum profitability after a reputational damage. Using a System Dynamics approach, the study simulates various strategic alternatives, including differentiation, cost efficiency, and a combination of both, to compare their long-run financial performance in the long run. The finding suggests that differentiation is the optimal strategy in restoring profitability as it allows the company to rebuild market perception, enhance product value, and ultimately regain investor confidence.

Abstract

SAPAWARGA is part of the Jabar Super Apps initiative that created to improve access to public services in West Java by integrating multiple government services into one platform. Despite its potential, SAPAWARGA faces several challenges. First, user acquisition remains below its market potential, with only 2.82 million registered users as of 2024, a number that falls short of its estimated reachable market of 4 million users. Second, user engagement is low, with only 10.23% of registered users actively using the platform weekly. These issues highlight a disconnect between the platform’s offerings and the needs of its target audience. This research seeks to address these gaps by adopting a Service Science approach. Frameworks like Value Co-Creation and Value Orchestration Platform (VOP) are applied to explore strategies for aligning the platform with user expectations. In addition, the Customer Empathy Map is used to gain deeper insights into users' perspectives and refine the features of the platform to better meet their needs. Using qualitative methods such as interviews with users and service providers, this study presents actionable recommendations to improve SAPAWARGA. The recommendations include improving the platform's service design, encouraging stronger collaboration among stakeholders, and optimizing resource integration. By addressing these issues, SAPAWARGA can evolve into a more engaging and impactful digital public service solution, and realize its potential to serve West Java’s digitally savvy population.

Abstract

This study examines operational inefficiencies within the outpatient pharmacy at Premier Jatinegara Hospital, focusing on declining prescription coverage and its impact on patient care and hospital revenue. Using the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) framework, the research systematically identifies key problem areas and proposes targeted improvement strategies. Internal analysis revealed issues such as frequent stockouts, inadequate real-time inventory management, workflow inefficiencies, and staffing shortages during peak hours. External analysis highlighted patient dissatisfaction due to long waiting times and supply chain disruptions caused by unreliable suppliers. To address these challenges, the study proposes a comprehensive improvement strategy focusing on upgrading the hospital’s data management system, implementing real-time inventory tracking, redesigning workflows, and enhancing staff training. The Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle forms the foundation of the implementation plan, ensuring the systematic execution and continuous monitoring of improvements. The recommended interventions aim to enhance patient safety, streamline inventory management, reduce waiting times, and improve overall service quality. Additionally, recommendations for future academic research include exploring the broader impact of technological integration on hospital efficiency and examining patient perceptions of pharmacy services. By addressing operational inefficiencies, this study provides valuable insights and practical solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of outpatient pharmacy services at Premier Jatinegara Hospital, ultimately supporting better patient outcomes and financial stability

Abstract

Indonesia's energy sector faces increasing oil and gas demand, with the West Java region experiencing significant supply-demand gaps that require strategic development of new production facilities to ensure energy security. This study [A1] [A2] aims to select the best scenario for the production facility development plan of TKP Structure, which was carried out using the FVT-AHP method by considering key internal factors and aligning with the external environment obtained by PESTEL and SWOT analysis. A series of primary and secondary data collection has been conducted to obtain valid data for in-depth analysis using both qualitative and quantitative approaches. The goal of the comprehensive analysis was to determine a priority ranking of alternatives based on criteria and sub-criteria that reflected the fundamental objectives and values of the decision maker, the interests of key stakeholders, and the contribution of SMEs involved in the project. The VFT Framework is applied to generate four feasible alternatives and a set of criteria has been established to evaluate the alternatives, specifically focusing on cost, quality, time to implementation, and compliance with eight sub-criteria associated with it. The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) model was created to solve the multi-criteria decision-making process by establishing a priority ranking of criteria and alternatives. The results show that the proposed scenario for the development plan of TKP's production facilities based on priority ranking is to upgrade the PDT Gathering Station. Sensitivity analysis confirms that the priority ranking of the alternatives remains stable despite variations in the criteria.

Abstract

Agile transformation has become increasingly popular as a management approach to improve performance, but there has been limited research on its direction. This study aims to advance knowledge on agile transformation to help companies become faster, more flexible, and more responsive. The study employs a bibliometric approach to analyze 116 "Agile Transformation" papers published in the Scopus database over the past 20 years. The findings indicate an increasing number of publications in recent years, with the United States, Finland, and Germany being the top countries. However, the research connections are not yet consolidated, as only 22 authors out of 282 have co-authored papers. The research has also been mainly focused on software development and IT companies, using case studies, grounded theory, and surveys. The study reveals that the major research hotspots in the agile transformation are agile transformation, software development, software design, agile methods, agile transition, and agile adoption. The grand theories emerging in the Agile Transformation revolution emphasize the importance of collaboration, communication, continuous improvement, and customer value. Overall, this study provides a comprehensive understanding of the current state of research on agile transformation and offers insights for future research. The findings highlight the need for greater research diversity beyond software development and IT companies and an opportunity to use action research and ethnography strategies to understand agile transformation. Ultimately, this study contributes to the advancement of knowledge on agile transformation and its role in improving organizational performance.

Abstract

PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), Pertamina's Upstream Subholding, is facing strategic challenges owing to operations, commodity price volatility, and financial concerns. These circumstances compel that the Board of Commissioners concentrates its oversight on the most important business concerns affecting the company's profitability. This research analyzes and prioritizes PHE's important business concerns, as well as designing a targeted supervision framework. A sequential exploratory mixed-methods approach was employed, incorporating corporate document inspection, fourteen semi-structured interviews, thematic coding, and Best-Worst Method prioritizing with twelve respondents. The research discovered fifteen business issues and seven faults in the present oversight method. Impact appears to be the major factor, followed by urgency and probability. Four challenges were classified as Tier 1 priorities: mature field natural decline, asset integrity and unplanned shutdowns, post-investment review gap, and governance and Business Judgment Rule risk. The findings were translated into a Tiered BoC Oversight System consisting of a tiered work plan, monitoring toolkit, escalation and contingency protocol, enabling conditions, and integration with PHE’s existing BoC Oversight system namely SRAM, PRAM, and GOC architecture. The system sharpens, rather than replaces, the existing oversight architecture.
