Abstract

Marangkayu is a multi-purpose dam that serves irrigation water needs for a functional area of 1,500 hectares and provides raw water supplementation of approximately 450 liter per second. One of the requirements for impounding certification involves the preparation of an operational guideline for the dam. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the reservoir operation pattern by simulating water availability and demand. The reservoir operation pattern is determined through simulations based on calculations of water inflow, water demand, and losses, constrained by the reservoir's storage capacity. The simulation calculations employ the baseline year method, which includes dry years, normal years, and wet years. Reservoir water availability simulations are conducted under three conditions: dry year (probability of being equaled or exceeded 65%), normal year (probability of being equaled or exceeded 50%), and wet year (probability of being equaled or exceeded 35%). The results of this study indicate that the simulation of Marangkayu reservoir's operation pattern for dry, normal, and wet conditions can sufficiently meet the water needs for a functional irrigation area of 1,500 hectares with a cropping pattern of rice–rice–secondary crops, raw water demand of 450 liter per second, and river maintenance flow of 0.848 m³/second.

Abstract

The Sutami Dam is located on the Brantas River, precisely in Karangkates Village, Sumberpucung District, Malang Regency. The Sutami Dam has been in operation for fifty-one years. Based on observations in the field, the rate of sedimentation entering the Sutami Reservoir is quite high, resulting in shallowing in the reservoir storage area up to the intake gate, which can affect the performance and productive life of the reservoir. This research is conducted to evaluate the planning of mapping dredging locations, the potential sediment that can be dredged, and the increase in the volume capacity of the dredging equipment. This research uses data from bathymetry, which is then analyzed for sedimentation and scour values compared between 2019 and 2022. For soil parameter data, laboratory test results such as grain size analysis and hydrometer analysis are utilized. Data analysis using the cut-fill method in ArcMap 10.8.2 software. The results of this research show that in carrying out dredging activities in the reservoir area, it is necessary to divide the dredging location into two zones with two types of dredgers that have different specifications. To increase the dredging volume capacity in the Sutami Reservoir using the scenario of using two existing dredgers and the addition of two new dredgers, an increase in the dredging capacity in the Sutami Reservoir of 1,702,189.00 m³ per year was obtained.

Abstract

Introduction: Organophosphate is one of the most commonly used insecticides to control vector-borne illnesses. Both organophosphate and biodiesel (commonly used as solvents for outdoor space spraying methods) intoxications have cardiovascular manifestations. Case: A 58-year-old male with a sudden onset of shortness of breath after spraying insecticides 1 hour before admission. On examination, there were no SLUDGEM (salivation, lacrimation, urination, defecation, gastrointestinal distress, emesis, miosis) fndings. Bibasilar rales were present on auscultation, and a 12-lead ECG showed ST elevation in leads V1-V6. There was no preceding chest pain. The patient received oxygen, antiplatelet loading, and insulin therapy for hyperglycemia and was prepared for primary PCI. Diagnostic coronary angiography revealed a mid-LAD total occlusion, and a drug-eluting stent was implanted with fnal TIMI 3 fow. Discussion: Dyspnea has various causes, including organophosphate (OP) poisoning, which may result in cholinergic syndrome, respiratory dysfunction, and life-threatening cardiovascular complications. Early recognition through rapid diagnostic evaluation and timely interventions such as atropine, oximes, and reperfusion therapy in STEMI are essential to improve survival and outcomes. Conclusion: Early recognition and prompt revascularization are critical in STEMI to reduce infarct size and improve outcomes. Organophosphate exposure may be associated with cardiovascular efects, and clinicians should consider acute coronary occlusion in patients with respiratory complaints after insecticide exposure, even in the absence of classical cholinergic signs.

Abstract

[ID] Salah satu upaya penanggulangan kegagalan bendungan adalah penyusunan Rencana Tindak Darurat. Rencana tindak darurat memuat peta genangan banjir akibat keruntuhan. Keruntuhan Bendungan Saguling mengakibatkan Bendungan Cirata mengalami overtopping. [EN] One of the efforts to overcome dam failure is preparing an Emergency Action Plan. The emergency action plan contains a map of the flood inundation due to the collapse. The flood inundation map is essential because it becomes the basis for making dam failure management decisions. The flood inundation map was obtained from the dam break analysis. This study analyzes the Saguling Dam collapse, a cascade dam in the Citarum River Basin. The failure analysis in this study consisted of collapse hydrograph analysis using HEC-HMS, flood routing using HEC-RAS, and processing of spatial information using QuantumGIS. The dam failure scenario modelled is due to piping on sunny days with initial piping variations at 1/3 height, height and 2/3 height of the dam. The results of the failure hydrograph analysis of the three scenarios tend to be similar to the failure peak discharge of 61193.6 m3/s. The collapse of the Saguling Dam caused the Cirata Dam to be overtopped. Meanwhile, Jatiluhur Dam does not experience overtopping if the Cirata Dam does not collapse. The flood inundation maps due to the collapse of the Saguling Dam in the three scenarios tend to be similar. The number of affected villages less than 10 km from the Saguling Dam is six out of 10 villages. Baranangsiang Village and Saguling Village are the first villages affected by flooding due to the collapse of the Saguling Dam, with an estimated flood arrival time of ± 0.25 hours since the collapse started.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the characteristics of coffee products in the international market. Data is collected from coffee product export transaction data from 2011-2021, Indonesia Statistic. Export data were selected based on the Harmony system (HS) code of coffee and its derivatives. The analysis method used is RFM (Recency, Frequency, Monetary) Analysis. The results show that there are 12 categories of coffee products exported to 90 countries divided into 9 regions/zones respectively. Coffee export products with the highest interest are arabica WIB (not roasted and not decaffeinated wet-processed Arabica coffee beans) or Robusta OIB (unroasted, with caffeine) coffee. Then the best markets for coffee products exported by Indonesia are the United States, Japan, Malaysia, Germany, Egypt, Georgia, Australia, United Arab Emirate, and Ecuador. The second-best exported coffee product is roasted coffee, with caffeine, unground that being imported Malaysia, China, and New Zealand.  The two categories contribute 98% of export volume of Indonesia’s exported coffee and 78% frequency. The study confirms that the choice of coffee and its derivative products in importing countries is influenced by purchase timing, frequency, and funds used. In addition, purchasing factors are also influenced by the characteristics of consumers and processed industries in these importing countries

Abstract

Wasps in the family of Vespidae often have a yellowish black color with white or brown markings, but some species have variations in their markings and coloring. There is limited information available about the distribution of these marking patterns within the Vespidae Family. To clarify their taxonomic status, this study aims to examine the marking patterns of Vespid wasps that are widely distributed in the Indonesian Archipelago and to explore correlations with their biogeographical distribution patterns. In this study, specimens from three different locations (Bandung, Sumedang, and Purworejo) and specimens from the Museum Zoologicum Bogoriense (MZB) were examined. A total of 31 individuals from five different species were analyzed based on their morphological features. The data collected was coded and analyzed using cladistic methods, and the results were used to create cladogram trees for each of the five species i.e., Phimenes flavopictus, Polistes stigma, Apodynerus troglodytes, Vespa affinis, and Vespa velutina, showing their biogeographical distribution. The cladistic analysis in this study showed the relationships between the different species based on their morphological characteristics. The arrangements of the clades were determined using the Euclidean method in R studio. The results showed that P. flavopictus has two clades based on the marking patterns on their thorax and abdomen, while the other species i.e., Po. stigma, V. affinis, V. velutina, and A. troglodytes have three clades based on their coloring and marking patterns on all segments. The distribution of the Vespidae species appears to be scattered, with their patterns randomly distributed among locations.
