Abstract

Abstract

PT. Y is a company engaged in the processing of fresh palm fruit bunches into Crude Palm Oil (CPO), and has a production capacity of 30 tonnes/hour. The CPO production system generally goes through a long process and there are several processes that are not optimal. One of the processes is pressing, where this process experiences a lot of oil loss. Oil loss experienced at PT. Y of 6.28 to 6.32 percent of total production. Therefore, it is important to identify the causes of oil loss in the pressing process so that it becomes a preventive measure and can reduce the percentage of oil loss during the production process. The purpose of this research is to identify the factors that cause CPO oil loss and to recommend solutions to minimize CPO oil loss in screw press machines using fishbone diagrams. A fishbone diagram is used to identify the root causes of problems in a process. The cause of the problem is often caused by five elements, namely Man, Method, Machine, Material, and Environment. Fishbone diagram is useful for finding the factors that cause a problem. The results obtained from the fishbone diagram are several factors that cause oil loss in the pressing process or in the screw press machine including machine factors, raw materials, humans, and method factors. Recommendations that can be implemented by companies include routine maintenance of screw press machines, both corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance, it is necessary to control the quality of fresh fruit bunches from the beginning of harvest until the fruit reaches the loading ramp station, and this requires training so that operators can better understand how to machine operation.

Abstract

This study optimizes resource allocation in Islamic banking using Design of Experiments (DOE) and Orthogonal Arrays (OA) to minimize simulation scenarios while ensuring statistical validity. Focusing on a West Aceh-based bank (4 tellers, 2 CS agents, 5 ATMs), the research addresses operational inefficiencies prolonged queues, resource misalignment conflicting with Sharia principles of efficiency (israf avoidance) and equity, exacerbated by seasonal demand fluctuations. A Full Factorial Design initially generated 40 scenarios (200 iterations), imposing high computational burdens. OA techniques reduced scenarios to 9 (77.5% fewer iterations, 45 total), maintaining a 95% confidence level (z-score=1.96) and 1-minute margin of error. Utility differences between methods were marginal (CS:1.3%, Teller:1.5%, ATM:2.3%) and statistically insignificant, confirming OA’s reliability. Critical interactions (e.g., CS=1 paired with all Teller levels) and balanced configurations (Teller=3 + ATM=3 “sweet spot”) were identified, despite minor imbalances (e.g., ATM=4 tested once). The approach advocates data-driven policies deploying ATMs during CS shortages and optimizing human-technology ratios aligning with Sharia ethics by reducing waste and enhancing equity. With 77.5% computational savings, this methodology offers scalable solutions for Islamic finance and dynamic sectors, bridging statistical rigor with ethical governance in resource optimization.

Abstract

Every company competes by developing strategies to outperform its rivals in the same market, whether through variations in the products offered, promised facilities, or the quality of services delivered to customers. BTN Syariah KCPS Meulaboh, located in Ujong Baroh Village, Johan Pahlawan District, West Aceh Regency, is a branch office of PT Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN). One of the recurring issues at this branch is related to the services provided through Mobile Banking (M-Banking). This study aims to identify the key attributes used to measure service quality and to determine the level of customer satisfaction regarding M-Banking services at BTN Syariah KCPS Meulaboh. Based on the results of research using the Improvement Gap Analysis (IGA) method, it was found that there are 12 attributes across 3 dimensions used to evaluate service quality. The overall findings indicate that customer satisfaction with the performance of Mobile Banking services at BTN Syariah KCPS Meulaboh is low, as reflected in the average questionnaire results showing dissatisfaction with the current M-Banking performance.

Abstract

Hazardous and Toxic Materials (B3) waste management is an important aspect in the operation of the electricity generation industry because it has the potential to cause negative impacts on the environment and worker health. PT PLN Nusantara Power Unit Pembangkitan 1 & 2 Nagan Raya as the operator of the Steam Power Plant (PLTU) produces various types of B3 waste such as used oil, chemical packaging, used resin, used rags, and chemically contaminated waste. This study aims to identify the types and characteristics of B3 waste, analyze the B3 waste management system, and evaluate the impact of B3 waste on the operational area. The research methods used include field observation, interviews with environmental staff, documentation studies, and literature studies. The results of the study indicate that the B3 waste produced has been managed through sorting, packaging, labeling, storage in Temporary Storage Areas (TPS), and transportation by licensed third parties. However, potential impacts on the environment and occupational safety can still occur if there are leaks, delays in transportation, or non-compliance with operational procedures. Identified impacts include the potential for soil and water pollution, the risk of exposure to hazardous materials for workers, and the potential for disruption to equipment performance. This research is expected to be the basis for evaluation and continuous improvement in the management of B3 waste in the electricity generation industry to support the principles of sustainability and compliance with environmental regulations.
