Abstract

The earthquake early warning system was built by implementing the IoT-based telemetry method to measure the earth's magnetic flux and vibrations at the latitude coordinates and longitude coordinates (-5.640274, 104.3050093), (-5.600941, 104.7788183) through the MAG3110 and ADXL345 sensors that were integrated in the raspberry pi3 as a server and applications on Android phones used for measurement data display. The result of the measurement data was that the average impact of the arising earth anomaly and vibration at the same coordinates took 400 seconds in the anomaly range of 395 μT to 404 μT. The conclusion of this study was that the study was able to be used as a basic to design the real-time earthquake warning system.Abstrak.Untuk membangun sistem peringantan dini gempa bumi kami menerapkan metode telemetri berbasis IoT untuk mengukur flux magnet bumi dan getaran pada pada koordinat lintang dan bujur bumi (-5.640274, 104.3050093) dan (-5.600941, 104.7788183) menggunakan sensor MAG3110 dan ADXL345 yang diintegrasikan dalam raspberry pi3 sebagai server dan aplikasi di handphone android digunakan untuk menampikan data pengukuran. Hasil pengukuran yang diperoleh rata-rata impact yang ditumbulkan dari timbulnya anomali dengan datangnya getaran pada koordinat yang sama membutuhkan waktu 400 detik dari rentang anomali sebesar 395 µT sampai dengan 404 µT. Hal ini menurut peneliti dapat dijadikan dasar untuk membangun sistem peringatan gempa bumi secara real time.

Abstract

Optimization of agriculture can be done by modernizing agricultural processes through the use of the Internet of Things. One of the problems with modern agricultural processes in greenhouses is maintaining stable room temperature and soil moisture conditions. Currently, automatic watering is only carried out with a scheduling system based on certain times, such as morning and evening. Based on observations of two gardens, the condition of some plants looks dry and wilted due to lack of watert. Therefore, it is essential to have a system that calculates soil moisture content and room temperature, which will then provide the results of these calculations to turn on the plant watering device. Fuzzy logic is used to determine the condition of the system that will send a signal to the IoT hardware to carry out the process of watering plants automatically by paying attention to air temperature and soil humidity. This rule is applied to the Smart Farming application, called Tani Cerdas, which is built based on Android to manage modern agriculture based on the IoT. The test showed result that the built automation system can produce a good response based on data from sensors.

Abstract

Kompetisi Sains Nasional (KSN) atau Olimpiade Sains Nasional (OSN) adalah kegiatan rutin yang diikuti oleh sebagian siswa-siswi baik dari jenjang SD, SMP dan SMA seluruh Indonesia dalam berbagai bidang. Peningkatan kompetensi siswa dilakukan dengan mengadakan pelatihan khusus di bidang informatika algoritma pemrograman di SMAN 1 Metro, Lampung. Pelatihan dilakukan dengan pendekatan Problem Based Learning dan menghasilkan peningkatan kemampuan siswa dalam pemahaman dan keterampilan algoritma dan pemrograman kemudian siap untuk mengikuti kegiatan OSN tingkat provinsi Lampung.

Abstract

Laju pertumbuhan penduduk dunia terus meningkat khususnya Indonesia yang laju pertumbuhan penduduk (2010-2020) sebesar 1,565% pertahun dengan total jumlah penduduk 270,20 juta jiwa mengakibatkan semakin sempitnya lahan pertanian dan semakin tingginya kebutuhan pangan semakin perlunya kualitas produk pertanian yang baik perlu adanya integrasi teknologi Smart Farming agriculture 4.0 Internet of things (IoT) pada bidang pertanian pada tanaman hortikultura. Kualitas produk pertanian, efisiensi proses pertanian, meningkatnya produktivitas petani merupakan hal-hal yang menjadi manfaat integrasi teknologi tersebut pada akhirnya. Untuk mencapai hal-hal itu semua perlu adanya pengenalan, pelatihan dan implementasi teknologi tersebut kepada para petani melalui kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat. Mulai dari memberikan penjelasan, implementasi pada area pertanian secara langsung sampai dengan pelatihan penggunaan mobile apps. Hasil yang diperoleh dari pengabdian ini adalah meningkatnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan penggunaan IoT Smart Farming

Abstract

Kelembaban tanah dalam pertanian adalah parameter yang sangat penting menentukan keberhasilan proses pertanian. Kelembaban tanah erat kaitannya dengan proses irigasi yang dilakukan terlebih dalam area greenhouse. Proses irigasi ini dilakukan secara presisi berbantuan sensor kelembaban dan otomatis berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) melalui pipa yang tersalur ke polybag tanaman. Sensor ditanam pada polybag dan data kelembaban yang terukur dijadikan dasar untuk melakukan proses irigasi secara otomatis. Data kelembaban terpantau via website dan mobile apps dan proses irigasi terkontrol dengan baik via mobile apps. Hasil uji kelinieran sensor dalam pengukuran kelembaban tanah sebagai media tanam menunjukan nilai gradien (m) sebesar 5,74. Sistem akan secara otomatis melakukan irigasi ketika kelembaban kurang dari 20% dan akan berhenti ketika sampai 80%.

Abstract

FaceVoting is an electronic voting system that employs facial recognition technology to authenticate voters, enhancing the security and efficiency of voting processes. This research showcases the integration of the Haar Cascade algorithm, renowned for its rapid and accurate object detection capabilities, tailored explicitly for face recognition in varied conditions. Through rigorous testing, the system proved highly effective at recognising faces across different distances, angles, and expressions despite some limitations in detecting obscured or unregistered faces. Extensive evaluations involved recording faces at 30 cm and 100 cm distances, yielding consistent detection scores of 0.2586751709411996, illustrating the system's robustness. Additionally, face recordings validated under varying angles demonstrated the system’s ability to maintain accuracy with minimal score variation, highlighting its adaptability to different voter positions. Further tests on diverse objects and facial expressions underscored the system’s precision in real-world scenarios, albeit with challenges in recognising non-human objects, other people’s faces, and partially obscured faces. About 96.5% of the 110 participants expressed satisfaction with the facial recognition feature, emphasising their confidence in its potential to secure and streamline the voting process. The study confirms the viability of facial recognition technology in e-voting systems, providing a substantial improvement over traditional methods in terms of accessibility, reliability, and fraud prevention, thereby supporting a more inclusive and transparent electoral process.

Abstract

In this era of globalization, technology has a huge impact on various aspects of life, including aspects of education. Systems, tools, and all things related to the realm of education are increasingly tied to the name technology. Education also plays an increasingly large role in educational progress, including ease of access to materials, technology-based education systems, effective and efficient teaching tools and media, and others. Apart from that, technological developments have introduced many applications that make it easier for educators and students to receive and disseminate information, as well as in assignments. Canva is an online application that really helps all parties, including beginners from various backgrounds and fields, to provide facilities in designing information media and assignments in an interesting way so that the process of disseminating information and assignment results is more aesthetic and effective.

Abstract

Private higher education in Indonesia faces challenges in improving educational quality to meet global demands. The policy of Academic Revitalization based on Information Technology (IT) emerges as a crucial strategy in addressing quality management changes. This research explores the implementation of this policy to enhance educational quality in private higher education institutions in Indonesia using seven variables. The research methodology involves a literature review and policy documentation analysis using Smart PLS. The research findings indicate that two variables were rejected due to being below the acceptance threshold. Five variables were accepted: Technology Alignment (3.258), Higher Education Quality Management (3.278), Moderating Effect 1 and 2 (both above 2.00), and the last variable, Revitalization of Academic Policies (2.614). However, challenges such as limited infrastructure, training needs, and appropriate policies remain significant issues to be addressed. In conclusion, the policy of Academic Revitalization based on IT provides a strong foundation for quality management changes in private higher education institutions in Indonesia. However, sustained commitment and significant investment are required to achieve optimal results.

Abstract

This research is an experimental study which aims to determine the effect of the buddy reading method assisted by flipbook media on the interest and reading comprehension ability of class V group 3 Paraikatte students. The Buddy Reading method which is supported by flipbook media has significant benefits in increasing the interest and reading comprehension skills of class V students. This method can be a fun form of learning so that it can increase students' interest in reading. The research carried out was experimental research using an experimental class and a control class. Data collection techniques through test instruments, questionnaires and observations to determine the increase in students' reading comprehension skills and reading interest through the buddy reading method. In the experimental group, the average reading interest was 70,784. Meanwhile, after treatment or giving the buddy reading method to the experimental group, the average interest in reading was 83,039. The same thing in the assessment of reading comprehension ability in the Pretest was 52.235. Meanwhile, the average reading comprehension ability on the Posttest was 84.235. On average, after treatment with the buddy reading method, the average reading ability in the experimental group was higher than the reading ability in the control group. The average reading ability in the experimental group was 84.235, which is higher than the average reading ability in the control group of 67.750.

Abstract

Research on the Buddy Reading Method Assisted by Flipbook Media on the Interest and Reading Comprehension Ability of Class V Students at SD Gugus III Paraikatte District. Bajeng Kab, Gowa, Masters Program, Muhammadiyah University of Makassar Supervised by Sulfasyah and Tarman. This research aims to determine the effect of Buddy Reading helping with flipbook media on the interest and reading comprehension abilities of fifth grade students. This research uses a quasi-experimental design involving an experimental class and a control class. The research population was all fifth graders who were members of an elementary school group in the same zone in Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi Province. The research sample was two fifth grade students selected randomly from the group mentioned above. The instruments used to collect data were questionnaires and reading comprehension tests. Descriptive data analysis shows that there is an increase in students' interest and reading comprehension abilities after teaching reading comprehension using the Buddy Reading Method. The results of inferential statistical analysis using Manova showed that there were differences between the control and treatment classes regarding reading interest and reading comprehension ability, with mark scores. 0.000 < 0.05. Thus, the buddy reading method influences the reading interest and reading comprehension abilities of fifth grade students in this study.
