Abstract

Tujuan penelitian adalah mendeskripsikan kesalahan umum pengucapan huruf diam (Silent Letters) dalam tes pelafalan kata-kata dari tes kata-kata Bahasa Inggris. Penelitian fokus dalam menganalisis kesalahan umum pengucapan huruf diam (silent letters) pada kata-kata Bahasa Inggris oleh para pembelajar Bahasa Indonesia tingkat pemula (novice) yaitu mahasiswa semester II program studi Bahasa Inggris STKIP Nurul Huda Sukaraja. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dengan kata-kata Bahasa Inggris tingkat pemula (novice). Menurut hasil analisis data dari hasil tes kemampuan pronunciation dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada 4 kategori kemampuan, yaitu: ada 5 mahasiswa ada pada kategori sangat baik (12,5%), 34 mahasiswa memiliki kategori baik (85%), dan ada seorang mahasiswa dengan kategori cukup (2,5%). Dari data analisis dapat di jelaskan bahwa secara dominan kata yang paling banyak mengalami kesalahan pengucapan yang mengandung huruf diam (silent letters) adalah kata high. Yang mana didalam kata high mengandung huruf diam ‘g’. Dengan demikian ini menjadi tantangan untuk Dosen pengampu matakuliah Pronunciation untuk mencari metode pengajaran guna penyelesaian masalah yang dihadapai mahasiswa.

Abstract

This community service stems from the anxiety of the English Education Study Program lecturers on the importance of the usefulness of the knowledge possessed by lecturers for better community education outside of educational activities on campus. Raudhatul Thullab's educational and social foundation lacks teaching staff, especially English teachers, while students who are high enough to speak English. The object/target of this service is Raudhatul Thullab Middle School and Vocational High School students, in carrying out this service that is with a learning assistance model that is conducted for 1 month. The material includes grammar, reading, speaking, pronunciation and writing. The results of community service activities received a positive response from the school, especially because this training was suitable for their needs. The motivation of the trainees was quite enthusiastic. This indicates a desire to improve their abilities in mastering English.

Abstract

Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah apakah terdapat hubungan antara metode diskusi terhadap hasil belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia kelas VIII MTs Takwa Gumawang?. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa tingkat hubungan hasil belajar siswa yang diajarkan dengan metode diskusi pada pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif dengan pendekatan korelasional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu kelas VIII MTs Takwa Gumawang yang berjumlah 47 responden. Sampel diambil dengan menggunakan simple random sampling, yaitu pengambilan sampel secara acak, dan kelas yang terpilih yaitu kelas VIII 2 berjumlah 23 responden. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan angket dan dokumentasi berupa nilai rapot (semester gazal). Peneliti membahas ada tidaknya hubungan antara metode diskusi terhadap hasil belajar siswa, yang dihipotesiskan dalam hipotesisi alternatif (Ha), hipotesis diterima jika terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara metode diskusi terhadap hasil belajarsiswa. Hasil perhitungan variabel metode diskusi, diketahui nilai minimum sebesar 70 dan maximum sebesar 95. Hasil perhitungan dari nilai belajar siswa, diketahui nilai minimum sebesar 84 dan maximum 87. Selanjutnya dari hasil analisis korelasi dikatakan variabel mempunyai hubungan apabila nilai signifikasi lebih kecil dari 0,05. Diketahui nilai signifikan metode diskusi terhadap hasil belajar yaitu 0,01, dimana 0,01 > 0,05. Peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh antara metode diskusi terhadap hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

The goal of this study was to determine if there was a significant difference in vocabulary mastery between seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 3 Belitang Mulya who were taught using the Duolingo program and those who were taught using the conventional approach. Quantitative research, an experimental technique, and a quasi-experimental design were employed. In the academic year2021/2022, seventh graders from SMP Negeri 3 Belitang Mulya were the population. The sample was collected by purposeful sampling, and it consisted of an experimental group of 27 students and a control group of 28 students. The data were collected using a multiple-choice exam and analyzed using the independent t-test in SPSS 22. This investigation found a significant distinction between the experimental and control groups. This meant that students in the seventh grade at SMP Negeri 3 Belitang Mulya may use the Duolingo App to teach and acquire vocabulary.

Abstract

English training in online marketing to build the entrepreneurial spirit of women during the Covid-19 Pandemic, PRIMA Village was carried out as a form of solution related to problems due to the impact of the world economy. The training activities took place at the village hall with the target of PRIMA women at Tumijaya village. Based on the results,, it was found that this activity received a positive response from the village and the participants. It is an effort to facilitate learning to better manage businesses, gain economic benefits from their activities and learn from one another. With the English language training activities for PRIMA women in Tumijaya village, it is a form of concern to help them find their potential and provide knowledge for readiness to build an entrepreneurial spirit as well as an effort to realize the ideals of entrepreneurship in order to realize gender equality and justice during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

The development of persons second language was influenced by the way of acquired, either through formal or informal activities. This study discussed the phenomeneon of second language acquisition in the modern Islamic boarding school students of Nurussalam Sidogede, especially in English Acquisition. This study used qualitative approach which described descriptively. Observation and interview were methods used in data collection. The result of this study indicated that second language acquisition at this Islamic boarding school was through increasing vocabularies by providing three words everyday then applied directly into sentences related to the vocabularies that had been given. After that applied in daily communication among Kyai, administrators and students. Perkembangan bahasa kedua pada seseorang dipengaruhi oleh cara pada tahapan pemerolehannya, baik melalui kegiatan formal maupun informal. Penelitian ini membahas fenomena pemerolehan bahasa kedua pada santri pondok pesantren modern Nurussalam Sidogede khususnya pada pemerolehan bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif yang dipaparkan secara deskriptif. Observasi dan wawancara adalah metode yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa second language acquisition di pondok pesantren ini melalui peningkatan vocabulary dengan memberikan tiga kata setiap harinya yang kemudian diaplikasikan langsung ke dalam contoh kalimat yang berhubungan dengan kosa kata yang telah diberikan, kemudian diterapkan dalam daily communication baik antar pengasuh, pengurus, dan sesama santri.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sejauh mana persepsi mahasiswa tentang pengaruh perubahan pola daring ke luring terhadap pemahaman konsep mata kuliah semantik di Universitas Nurul Huda. Objek yang dipilih dari penelitian adalah mahasiswa semester 5 program studi pendidikan bahasa dan sastra Indonesia Universitas Nurul Huda. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian lapangan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif yang dipaparkan secara deskriptif, karena penelitian ini berisi gambaran mengenai persepsi mahasiswa tentang perubahan pola daring dan luring dalam pembelajaran. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini adalah sebagian besar mahasiswa mempunyai tanggapan yang beragam tentang pembelajaran daring, hal ini disebabkan kurangnya pemahaman materi dan penyampaiannya kurang menarik tidak seperti pada saat luring, serta kurang efektif. Mayoritas mahasiswa mengalami hambatan atau kendala pada saat pembelajaran daring mata kuliah semantik adalah susahnya sinyal untuk mengakses materi dan menghabiskan kuota yang banyak.

Abstract

This thesis is entitled “Using REDW Strategy towards Students’ Reading Comprehension achievement of the Eighth Grade Students of SMP Negeri 2 Belitang”. The problem of the study was limited by teaching reading comprehension achievement by using REDW strategy of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Belitang. Th eobjective was find out whether or not REDW strategy is effective to teach students’ reading comprehension achievement of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Belitang. The method of the study used experimental menthod which applied one group pretest and posttest. The population of the study was all of th eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Belitang in academic year of 2012/2013, with total number 232 students from eight clasess. In this research, the writer applied random sampling to choose sample class, and the sample class of this study the writer choose VIII2 as the experimental group and VIII4 as the control group with the total students in each class are 29 students. In collecting the data, the writer used written test that was given twice; pretest and posttest, and the analyzing data using t-test. After the writer calculated the students’ scores of pretest and posttest, the writer found the differences of students’ average score in pretest and posttest; 65.75 as pretest and 76.55 as posttest. By using the students’ score obtained from the pretest and posttest in experimental group and control group it was found that the result of independent t-test was 2.60. it is higher than critical value taht is 2.04. this indicated that the null hypothesis (Ho) was refected and alternative hypothesis (Ha) accepted. In other word, REDW strategy was effective to teach students’ reading comprhension achievement of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Belitang.

Abstract

The thesis entitled “An Analysis of Deixis Used In Palembang’s Traditional Song Liryc”. The objective of this study was to identify the types of deixis used in Palembang’s traditional song liryc and to find out the dominant types of deixis used in Palembang’s traditional song liryc. In this study, the writer used descriptive qualitative method, because the data in this research are liryc of the song. The object of the study is Palembang’s traditional song liryc that consist of five song liryc, they are Gending Sriwijaya, Dek Sangke, Palembang Darussalam, Cuk Mak Ilang, and Bumi OKU Timur. The data was analysis through several steps including determained and classified word deixis expresssions, and then analyzes the types of deixis, and the last the researcher calculated the types of deixis used in each song liryc. Based on the data finding, the researcher found that there are five types of deixis found in five of Palembang’s traditional song liryc, namely person deixis, place deixis, time deixis, discourse deixis, and social deixis with a frequency appearance 82 times. The types deixis that is often used in each song is person deixis with a percentage 41.5% with a frequency appearance 34 times. And the types of deixis that is rarely used is discourse dexis with percentage 4.9% with a frequency appearance 4 times. It can be concluded that the dominant types deixis are used in the Palembang’s traditional song liryc is persn deixis.

Abstract

This thesis is entitled “The Influence of Double Loop Problem Solving (DLPS) Technique to Teach Reading Comprehension Achievement of The Tenth Grade Students of  SMA Negeri 1 Belitang Jaya". The objective  was find out whether or not there is any significance difference between the students who are taught by using Double Loop Problem Solving technique and the students who are taught by using conventional technique to teach reading comprehension achievement at the tenth grade students of SMA N 1 Belitang Jaya. The method of the study used quantitative research, and quasi experimental design. Therefore, there were two groups those were experimental group who are taught by using Double Loop Problem Solving technique and control group who are taught by using conventional technique, that was chosen by using purposive sampling to collecting the data, the population of this study were 120 students and sample were 60 students. The study was used multiple choice test as an instrument for collecting the data. The data obtained from Independent t-test analysis by using SPSS 25, between the result of post-test in experimental group and control group. Based on the calculation by using Independent t-test in SPSS 25, the writer found that value of t-obtained is 4.906. with 5% sig. level for 2-tailed was 0.001(0.001 < 0.05), and the critical value t-table is 2.001. it showed that t-obtained was higher than t-table (4.906 > 2.001). So, the null hypotheses (Ho) was rejected and alternative hypotheses (Ha) was accepted. It can be concluded that Double Loop Problem Solving technique was significant to teach reading comprehension achievement at the tenth grade students of SMA N 1 Belitang Jaya.
