Abstract

This thesis is entitled E-Learning and Conventional Learning of Literal Reading. The aim of this research is to find out whether there is a significant difference between students taught using the E-Learning model and students taught using the Conventional learning model to teach the Literal Reading course in the second semester at the Nurul Huda University. In this research the author used a descriptive-comparative method with a qualitative approach. The E-Learning model makes students more active compared to conventional learning models. In the E-Learning model, lectures only help students learn. In this case, a student spends more time studying alone. However, in the conventional learning model, lecturers must explain the entire course content to students. Therefore, the E-Learning model provides more quality to students than conventional learning models. It can be concluded that the E-Learning model has advantages compared to conventional learning models. Aside from that, e-learning is more affordable, adaptable, and dynamic than traditional learning approaches. Therefore, as compared to traditional learning models, e-learning provides pupils with a higher quality education.

Abstract

Abstract The title of this research is to analyze types of floating maxim. This research described   the  types  of  maxims  that  are  flouted  by all characters in Hotel Transylvania 2 movie. This research was descriptive research, and the data sources of this research was Hotel Transylvania 2 movie and supported by pragmatics theory related to the movie to increase and add to the theory of floating maxim. The researcher used documentation as collecting data techniques. The descriptive data was gotten from words, sentences, or picture in every action in the movie. After viewing and comprehending the film, the researcher looked for the script, rewatched it, and read the dialogue transcript. She then chose and categorized the utterances in the film that demonstrated maxim flouting, collecting all of the information into a data sheet. These results in the following consequences: the floating maxims of quantity, quality, relation, and manner. The most common type of flouting maxim in the movie, in terms of occurrence, is the quantity maxim. The relational maxim comes in second, the manner maxim comes in third, and the quality maxim appears in last.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi yang pesat menjadi media literasi yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan masyarakat saat ini. Upaya mengembangkan dan melestarikan legenda daerah menjadi tantangan tersendiri dalam mempertahankan budaya bangsa. Transformasi legenda yang hanya sebagai cerita dari kertas kedalam media digital akan menjadi sarana baru untuk melestarikan budaya yang mulai terkisis dan dilupakan oleh masyarakat. Animasi memiliki peran yang penting dalam penyampaian informasi dengan memberikan kesan gerak yang membuat audience lebih tertarik untuk menerima informasi yang disajikan. Penyajian legenda dalam gerak animasi memberikan kesan nyata sehingga masyarakat dapat merasakan secara bagaimana kisah yang terjadi dengan lebih nyata. Abstract

This community service stems from the anxiety of the English Education Study Program lecturers on the importance of the usefulness of the knowledge possessed by lecturers for better community education outside of educational activities on campus. Raudhatul Thullab's educational and social foundation lacks teaching staff, especially English teachers, while students who are high enough to speak English. The object/target of this service is Raudhatul Thullab Middle School and Vocational High School students, in carrying out this service that is with a learning assistance model that is conducted for 1 month. The material includes grammar, reading, speaking, pronunciation and writing. The results of community service activities received a positive response from the school, especially because this training was suitable for their needs. The motivation of the trainees was quite enthusiastic. This indicates a desire to improve their abilities in mastering English.

Abstract

English training in online marketing to build the entrepreneurial spirit of women during the Covid-19 Pandemic, PRIMA Village was carried out as a form of solution related to problems due to the impact of the world economy. The training activities took place at the village hall with the target of PRIMA women at Tumijaya village. Based on the results,, it was found that this activity received a positive response from the village and the participants. It is an effort to facilitate learning to better manage businesses, gain economic benefits from their activities and learn from one another. With the English language training activities for PRIMA women in Tumijaya village, it is a form of concern to help them find their potential and provide knowledge for readiness to build an entrepreneurial spirit as well as an effort to realize the ideals of entrepreneurship in order to realize gender equality and justice during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

ABSTRAK                                                                            Rendahnya tingkat literasi siswa Indonesia menjadi permasalahan utama pada bidang Pendidikan di Indonesia. Hal ini juga terjadi pada SMK Takwa Belitang yang menjadi salah satu mitra pengabdian Universitas Nurul Huda. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini berupa edukasi dan pelatihan membaca teks Bahasa Inggris menggunakan komik digital yang diimplementasikan kepada siswa SMK Takwa Belitang. Permasalahan utama yang dialami oleh mitra adalah 1) kurangnya motivasi siswa dalam membaca teks Bahasa Inggris siswa, 2) rendahnya tingkat kemampuan membaca teks Bahasa Inggris siswa, 3) minimnya media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi yang mampu menunjang keterampilan membaca teks Bahasa Inggris siswa. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah meningkatkan literasi membaca siswa dengan cara memberikan edukasi dan pelatihan membaca menggunakan komik digital. Metode yang diterapkan dalam pengabdian ini adalah 1) edukasi dengan penyampaian materi dan peraktik membaca menggunakan komik digital, 2) diskusi dan ceramah, dan 3) pelatihan berupa pendampingan membaca teks Bahasa Inggris menggunakan komik digital. Kegiatan pengabdian ini merupakan kegiatan kemitraan  dengan melibatkan SMK Takwa Belitang yang beralamat di Kecamatan Belitang Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ulu Timur sebagai mitra dengan jumlah 29 siswa kelas XI2 Multimedia. Selanjutnya kegiatan pengabdian ini memberikan hasil yang positif dengan adanya motivasi siswa yang sangat antusias dalam mengikuti kegiatan dan terjadinya peningkatan literasi membaca siswa menggunakan media pembelajaran berupa komik digital. Pengabdian ini juga menjadi kegiatan yang memberikan motivasi dan pengetahuan lebih kepada siswa dalam membaca teks Bahasa Inggris menggunakan komik digital, dan tentunya meningkatkan literasi kemampuan membaca siswa. Kata kunci: Membaca; Bahasa Inggris; Komik Digital.  ABSTRACTThe low level of literacy of Indonesian students is a major problem in the field of education in Indonesia. This also happened to SMK Takwa Belitang which is one of the community service partners of Nurul Huda University. This Community Service Activity is in the form of education and training in reading English texts using digital comics which are implemented for students of SMK Takwa Belitang. The main problems experienced by the partners are 1) lack of student motivation in reading English texts, 2) low level of students' ability to read English texts, 3) lack of technology-based learning media that can support students' English text reading skills. The purpose of this community service activity is to improve students' reading literacy by providing education and training in reading using digital comics. The methods applied in this community service are 1) education by delivering materials and reading practices using digital comics, 2) discussions and lectures, and 3) training in the form of mentoring in reading English texts using digital comics. This community service activity is a partnership activity involving SMK Takwa Belitang which is located in Belitang District, East Ogan Komering Ulu Regency as a partner with a total of 29 students of class XI2 Multimedia. Furthermore, this community service activity provides positive results with the motivation of students who are very enthusiastic in participating in the activity and an increase in student reading literacy using learning media in the form of digital comics. This community service is also an activity that provides more motivation and knowledge to students in reading English texts using digital comics, and of course increases students' reading literacy. Keywords: Reading, English, Digital Comic.

Abstract

The objectives of the study are 1) To find out the significant differences between the students who are taught by using 2D animation videos based on local South Sumatra culture and those who are taught by using conventional models on students' writing skills, 2) To improve the understanding of South Sumatra's local culture such as traditions, customs, art or cultural values, and 3) To integrate the multimedia technology in learning by using 2D animation videos, and preserving the manuscripts of the South Sumatra archipelago. The method used is experimental with a writing ability test and a learning motivation questionnaire as an instrument for collecting the data. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be seen that there is any significances among two classes, and feasible to be used to build the students' characters by moral values.

Abstract

This study explores the reading habits of fourth-semester students in the English Education Program at Nurul Huda University through a sociological perspective. It aims to describe students’ reading behaviors and examine the influence of social factors such as peer dynamics, family support, and digital media exposure. Descriptive method is used for this study, data were collected through classroom observation and a bilingual Likert-scale questionnaire. The findings indicate that although students acknowledge the value of reading, their practices are often inconsistent, hindered by academic workload, the pervasive influence of social media, and a limited reading culture in their immediate environment. A strong preference for visual and digital content over academic texts was also observed, raising concerns about the development of critical reading skills. The study concludes that reading habits are not solely driven by individual motivation but are significantly shaped by sociocultural contexts. Therefore, educational institutions should cultivate a literacy-friendly environment that addresses these social dimensions to support the development of effective and sustained reading practices, particularly for future educators.

Abstract

Pendampingan peningkatan kemampuan berbicara Bahasa Inggris santri Pondok Pesantren Nurul Huda melalui e-modul interaktif merupakan sebuah solusi dan upaya mengimplementasikan e-modul interaktif yang sudah disusun bagi santri Pondok Pesantren Nurul Huda. Pendampingan ini selaras dengan salah satu program wajib santri Pondok Pesantren Nurul Huda yaitu santri mampu menggunakan bahasa asing (Bahasa Inggris) dalam proses komunikasi sehari-hari di pondok. Tujuan pendampingan ini adalah memberikan pendampingan berupa praktik berbicara Bahasa Inggris santri Pondok Pesantren Nurul Huda melalui e-modul interaktif. Sasaran kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah seluruh santri Pondok Pesantren Nurul Huda dengan mengaplikasikan metode edukasi serta pelatihan, diskusi sekaligus ceramah, serta pendampingan praktik berbicara Bahasa Inggris oleh santri. Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan pada kemampuan awal dan akhir santri dalam berbicara Bahasa inggris.

Abstract

Permasalahan utama pengabdian ini adalah 1) Pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris menjadi program wajib di Asrama, 2) Praktik penggunaan E-Modul Interaktif belum bisa dilakukan dengan maksimal karena kurangnya kompetensi tutor dalam pengaplikasian media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi pada setiap proses pembelajaran, 3) Minimnya kompetensi tutor Bahasa Inggris Asrama Putri Pusat Pondok Pesantren Nurul Huda, 4) Rendahnya motivasi tutor dalam pengembangan kompetensi diri mereka, dan 5) Metode pembelajaran yang digunakan masih metode konvensional sehingga proses pembelajaran belum menarik dan hal ini menimbulkan rendahnya motivasi santri untuk belajar Bahasa Inggris. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah memberikan pendampingan berupa praktik penggunaan Media Pembelajaran berbasis teknologi berupa E-Modul Interaktif kepada Tutor Bahasa Inggris YPPNH. Metode Pelaksanaan yang diaplikasikan pada pengabdian ini adalah Edukasi dan Pelatihan, Diskusi dan Ceramah, dan Pendampingan Tutor Bahasa Inggris dalam menggunakan Media Pembelajaran berbasis teknologi berupa E-Modul Interaktif. Hasil dari Kegiatan pengabdian yang sudah dilaksanakan dapat memberikan dampak yang signifikan bagi Tutor Bahasa Inggris YPPNH dalam mengimplementasikan e-modul interaktif dalam proses pembelajaran.
