Abstract

In the period 1975-2010 Tasikmalaya Regency Government has made tourism development in Kampung Naga. The purpose was to improve the economic life of Kampung Naga community. However, the Kampung Naga community responded negatively to that development. Why did the Kampung Naga community respond negatively to the development of tourism, whereas that development could improve the life of its economist? The purpose of this study is to describe the response form of Kampung Naga community to the tourism development and to understand the cause of the response. The research method used is a historical method, namely heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Collecting data are using literature studiies and oral history interviews. Interactive model is used to analyze data. The result of this study shows that the negative response form of Kampung Naga community toward tourism development happened gradually from local scale to national scale. Abstract

One type of unmanned aircraft that is often used today is quadrotor. This type of aircraft has the ability to take off vertically. This study implemented an altitude control system on the z-axis quadrotor. The control used is the full state method of Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) with artificial neural networks. The LQR full state feedback method used in this system is 12-states with each feedback constant Ktuned to the neural network method. This study implements the artificial neural network method to change the feedback constant on the z-axis. Artificial neural network architecture used 12 input layers, 48 hidden layers, and 1 output layer. This study compares the value of the results of the simulation with the response value of the system implementation results applied to the quadrotor. Testing with full state LQR feedback using artificial neural networks improves the system response to ±0.77 seconds and improves steady state error values up to ±12 cm. Based on the results of these studies, this system can be implemented to control other systems.

Abstract

Abstract

Previous studies have used financial ratios extensively to build their predictive model of financial distress. The Altman ratio is the most often used to predict, especially in academic studies. However, the Altman ratio is highly dependent on the validity of the data in financial statements, so other variables are needed to assess the possibility of manipulation of financial statements. None of the previous studies combined the five Altman Ratios with the Beneish M-Score. We use Stacking Ensemble Learning to classify crisis companies and perform a comprehensive analysis. This insight helps the investment public make lending decisions by mixing all the financial indicator information and assessing it carefully based on long-term and short-term conditions and possible manipulation of financial statements.

Abstract

Virtual Reality (VR) technology in tourism is a rapidly growing product of collaboration between technology and tourism. The benefits of VR during the Covid-19 pandemic allow the technology to survive. However, previously, VR had already seen usage in various profitable aspects of tourism. For that reason, it is important to examine how VR affects an individual’s—among Indonesian millennials—interest in visiting travel destinations. This study aims to analyze the effects of using VR by observing the content quality, system quality, presence, enjoyment and satisfaction in motivating visits among millennials. A total of 371 samples were collected in this study, obtained from respondents via online-distributed questionnaires. The data were processed using the structural equation modeling (SEM) method. The results indicated that out of seven hypotheses proposed, six were accepted and one was rejected. Content quality and system quality affected satisfaction, while presence affected enjoyment and satisfaction; satisfaction and enjoyment affected intention to visit. Enjoyment does not affect satisfaction. This study also shows that content quality, system quality, presence, enjoyment indirectly affect millennials’ interest to visit travel destinations. The quality of the VR system played an important role in creating satisfaction and intention to visit among millennials, so travel destination managers need to consider this.

Abstract

Sustainable Tourism Development (STD) consists of three dimensions known as environment, economic and social. Although these three dimensions influence each other and cannot stand on their own, and are assumed to be supportive to each other and compatible. However, most studies focus on the environmental and economic dimensions. The social dimension gains less attention and is difficult to attain and operationalize. In order to implement a balanced and successful STD, it needs to be supported by all the tourism stakeholder, including the tourist itself. Therefore, it is necessary to explore the social dimension of STDs and also tourist behavior regarding their social conscious. However, the discussions and understanding of social dimension in STD and socially conscious behavior are still limited. This study aims to define a clear understanding and definition of social dimension of STD which in this study is referred as social sustainability and also a socially conscious tourist. Starting with exploring the aspect of social dimensions formulation and exploring clear definitions of social dimensions of STD's and socially conscious tourist. This study is an exploratory study that aims to explore the boundaries of social dimension of STD and to develop a construct of socially responsible tourist. This study is a qualitative approaches, which includes systematic literature review and Delphi method to obtain expert judgment to gather social dimension aspects of sustainable development, especially in STD. The results of this study are social dimension’s aspects of STD, an understanding of social sustainability and socially conscious tourist in STD.

Abstract

Vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) is a type of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that is growing rapidly because its ability to take off and land anywhere in tight spaces. One type of VTOL UAV, the tail-sitter, has the best efficiency. However, besides the efficiency offered, some challenges must still be overcome, including the complexity of combining the ability to hover like a helicopter and fly horizontally like a fixed-wing aircraft. This research has two contributions: in the form of how the analytical model is generated and the tools used (specifically for the small VTOL quad tail-sitter UAV) and how to utilize off-the-shelf components for UAV empirical modeling. This research focuses on increasing the speed and accuracy of the UAV VTOL control design in fixed-wing mode. The first step is to carry out analysis and simulation. The model is analytically obtained using OpenVSP in longitudinal and lateral modes. The next step is to realize this analytical model for both the aircraft and the controls. The third step is to measure the flight characteristics of the aircraft. Based on the data recorded during flights, an empirical model is made using system identification technique. The final step is to vali-date the analytical model with the empirical model. The results show that the characteristics of the analytical mode fulfill the specified requirements and are close to the empirical model. Thus, it can be concluded that the analytical model can be implemented directly, and consequently, the VTOL UAV design and development process has been shortened.
